We had a pleasant two-night stay at Hyatt Place Boise. Check-in was quick and easy, and parking was hassle-free. As Hyatt members, we appreciated being able to grab bottled water anytime from the café area. Breakfast was simple--eggs, toast, fruit, and yogurt--but with so many great dining options nearby in Downtown Boise (go to Goldy's!), we wouldn't rely on it. The hotel's location is excellent, with restaurants, shops, and sightseeing spots all within walking distance. We stayed here for 3 nights during the Thanksgiving weekend. Our room had 2 queen beds and sitting area. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good with plenty of everything. Although we didn't swim, every time we walked outside, plenty of guests were having a good time, enjoying the heated pool (This was funny to us being from Los Angeles because it was literally like in the low 30s° & 40s°) We also liked that's it's in downtown, with plenty of stores and restaurants to walk to. Side Note: There was a Christmas parade taking place on Saturday that we had no idea about. It started and ended at this hotel. We couldn't have been better located. Now for the not so good... Very basic room, no safe, no microwave, no fridge. The walls are paper thin. We could hear every footstep from the room above us. The restroom has a frosted glass sliding door that you can hear the smallest sound come through. And if you need darkness to sleep, forget about it. If someone needs to use the restroom during the night, the light comes shining through that frosted glass door. Very poor design choice. I can live without a safe, a microwave and a fridge but sleep is a must. Now that family has moved out here, we'll be back to Boise 3 to 4 times every year but we'll have to find something else, preferably without a GIANT NIGHT LIGHT every time someone does their business. read more

The Boise Hyatt place has a lot going for it with its location downtown. Parking is free and I was able to find a space. The negative has to be weak and slow internet, which can be an issue if you are in town for business. The breakfast has standard Hyatt Place fare. Some Hyatt Places have real eggs and some have add water type of eggs and this was the latter. read more

This place charged a $16 parking fee upon check-in. The manager/clerk claimed it's legal because it's added to the policy provisions of the brokerages. I believe this is a bait-and-switch tactic. The location of the hotel is convenient having so close to downtown and many fine restaurants. Parking was hassle due to the limited space and construction. The interaction at the front desk upon arrival and staying was too casual and not professional. Breakfast was offered with staying but not desirable or healthy. The turndown service was delayed many times and had to ask multiple times and had to wait for awhile. I wouldn't book this establishment again. But if you stay longer periods, Hyatt place might be desirable with sink, toaster and microwave but not including stove. Great location downtown near multiple restaurants and shops! It was easy to walk around from the hotel. Right when we walked in, we noticed that it was clean and open. We were greeted by a friendly face and check in was easy. The room was also spacious and bathroom was a good size. The gym and pool were easy to locate. This Hyatt has us rethinking our World of Hyatt membership for good. After 11 long hours in the car, we arrive around 7 PM and pay to upgrade to a suite, only to be immediately greeted with "the globalist members downstairs are complaining that you are too loud." Oh, well apologize to their highnesses for the disturbance of my 30 pound toddler running free after being trapped in a car seat for so long. We Explorists members don't know what we were thinking disrupting them at such an ungodly hour *sarcasm*. The problem is not my child, but the paper thin walls of this hotel. You can hear EVERYTHING, from the people getting on and off the elevator to the sirens downtown directly outside your window. No one is immune to the noise of this hotel. But we were taxed of a nice welcoming anyway. Suite was bare bones. I mean zero amenities... full kitchen but no plate ware, silverware, soap, nothing. Oh I'm sorry, one random can opener, thanks Hyatt Place, not sure what I would have done in a pinch without that. No extra blankets or pillows but extra sheets? Toiletries were sparse as were towels. Did I mention we were in a huge suite? This place was dressed down like one person was staying in it. And don't start with the "COVID" times excuses. No one is wearing masks. There is no sight of COVID measures anywhere in the hotel, so I'm not buying it. Staff was apathetic to the feedback so that told us everything - no management on staff until 1 PM. We checked out and didn't waste any more time or money here. We will be careful before choosing to stay at another Hyatt property in the future. Hyatt seems apt to slimming everything down including membership benefits to save money, and it shows. So we will spend ours where we will get the most out of it. read more

Pros: Hotel is nice and in a great location for accessing downtown shopping and restaurants. Cons: Upon checkin, we were given a room that had not been cleaned. When I advised the front desk, they apologized and said another customer had said the same thing. I asked why we had been given the room and she replied it had been marked as cleaned after the first guest complained. We were quickly given another room. However, housekeeping never came during our entire 5 day stay. On the 4th day, i stopped by the front desk around 1:30 and asked to have the room refreshed as all the towels were damp and toilet paper was running low. When I returned at midnight, nothing had been done so I had to call the front desk and ask for towels. The hotel info says rooms will get a light daily cleaning and a complete cleaning on the 3rd day unless asked for more. We had NO cleaning at all, even when asked. read more

This was a very good Hyatt Place. I enjoyed the king room that I had. It was more spacious than I expected and the bathroom was surprisingly roomy in the right places. It was near the elevator but quiet as a mouse. They did an exceptional job of designing blinds that cut out the light. The only down side was the room was low (requested high) and had such a bad view they should have just not had a window. I know I'm whining here. Definitely would stay here again, just the room could have been much better. The best surprise if the place was the "free" breakfast. It was unbelievably good. Usually free breakfasts are just terrible. For you and for your tongue. This worked on all levels. read more

Excellent location if you want to be within walking distance of all that downtown Boise has to offer. Nice restaurants, shops, etc. BUT... Too bad this joint is staffed with a bunch of hospitality school dropouts. Hey, I know this whole covid crap has turned places upside down, but... Our request to have our room cleaned was met with near disdain. Our request only because a wayward pube was spotted on the bath mat (not one of ours, btw). Our request for ice (their ice machine is inop due to covid) was met with equal ignominy. We came and went numerous times during out stay. Never a greeting or farewell from anyone manning the front desk as we passed mere feet from them. What's with the unfriendliness? The beds here are waaay too soft. If you enjoy a good, solid backache in the morn, this place is for you. We asked for more pillows to fortify the bed that turned into a DEFCON 5 situation for the front desk. Acted like there was a national pillow shortage. Not sure if it's an Idaho thing or what. But, in general, not the most welcoming spot. Probably due to our California roots. Yuck! This place enforces a mask policy. Yet they don't clean the room that well. The remote control was filthy. You could tell it was never wiped down. They make you go all the way downstairs for ice. They should have advised or asked if we wanted ice at check in. The breakfast was prepackaged sandwiches for purchase!? Since they aren't providing a cooked meal served by someone. They could offer these to customers that paid a premium. Other than that. It was oatmeal prepackaged or a cheap pastry. They charged for parking, yet I never agreed to this and I parked on the street. They take your card. Yet you don't sign anything confirming you are ok with charges to room or an agreement. We only stayed at the Hyatt Place in Boise one night. What I liked: - Vibe: The hotel had great curb appeal and cool modern decor. Cleanliness: It was very clean, and smelled nice. Staff: Was friendly and welcoming. What I didn't like: - Parking: The parking was very limited. They asked us to find a spot on the street. Luckily we didn't run into an issue finding a spot on the street however we unloaded the contents of our car so as not to tempt any potential passerby from breaking a window to steal what's inside. Paranoid? Perhaps, but better safe than sorry. - Security: I noticed that they didn't have room key restricted elevators or verify that those entering the hotel were actually guest of the hotel. We had one person ask if we could use our room key to open the guest laundry on the 5th floor. Was this person a guest who misplaced his key? Or a homeless person trying to wash some clothes? I guess I'll never know, but the hotel should implement a better protocol for how people get to the guest floors. - WiFi: What WiFi, it was non-existent! We thought it was just us but when we asked the front desk attendant they admittedly said it was horrible and provided a tech support number that we should use to troubleshoot the issue! Decided to stay here for a local staycation and enjoy downtown Boise. This is a newer hotel to the downtown area so I was excited to try it out. Overall the atmosphere is great with a clean modern lobby. It's open and spacious, but the seating could be better. The pool is outdoor and is kept at 85 degrees the hot tub at 105. I also believe it's salt water, but didn't ask for confirmation. The bedroom is standard fair. Nothing you haven't seen before. I do enjoy the mini fridge. Beds were way too soft for our party and everyone had lower back pain. Centennial breakfast was decent. Appreciate that it's free and part of the room costs. Paid parking was very disappointing. They didn't mention it till after we finished checking in. read more

Very bad hotel for business travelers. The Wi-Fi connectivity here is very poor. This hotel does have free Wi-Fi, but I would much rather pay for Wi-Fi if it meant a reliable connection. Most of the rooms do not have wired internet hookups, which are necessary for video and conference calls. The video for me showed up completely pixelated and audio was very choppy. I had to cancel meetings because of how unreliable the connection is. They also don't really go above and beyond for their guests. I asked to borrow a few items from the staff and got all my requests denied. Definitely not a great experience at all. read more

Wow so last night was one of the worst hotel stays in awhile. Hyatt manager decided putting a hotel full of brats on the top floors of the hotel. Kids running up and down the halls till 2am. Jumping and banging all night long and a fire alarm prank at 11 at nite. Had to pay premium price for this room $400/ nite and got no sleep- complaining to the desk made no difference. I expect this kind of BS at A Motel 6 not a supposed 3 star hotel. Hyatt you owe me a discount! read more

We usually stay at Hyatt Place Boise Towne Square, but it was closed due to the Covid quarantine. So we had our first stay at the Boise downtown Hyatt place. The only reason we have never stayed Hyatt place downtown before is because they charge $12 for parking and town Square parking is free. However, we were not charged parking on this stay. It kind of made up for not having any "to go bags" For breakfast (since their dining room & bar is closed). I'm sure it's been really difficult for hotels. This beautiful hotel was averaging 4 or 5 guests per night when we were there. Boise downtown is a ghost town. It's so sad. Tragic actually! The hotel is lovely and clean. Typical Hyatt high-quality! We love Hyatt hotels! Their points program is extremely competitive: their points rates beat every other kid on the block! We just wish there were more HYATT hotels available, because most every other hotel is a step down. (( we were disappointed to find both of the Hyatt's in Wichita Kansas are closed for the covid. . I love Hyatt pillows. We have a very quiet 5th floor room away from elevator. We have king sized bed and sleeper sofa so husband may have booked a mini-suite. Every time I stay in any Hyatt, mini fridge is included. The room is very nice and exceptionally clean. It's not fancy or luxurious. The decor is tasteful if a bit spartan and utilitarian but it's highly preferred to the questionable decor of lower hotels and not rising to the level of boutique or resort quality. You'll want to bring your own fancy smelling shower gel. Aside from the high quality one expects from Hyatt and is delivered on here, the location of this hotel is perfect. Easy parking and just 2 block walk to fabulous restaurants and nightlife scene. Perhaps in the winter or for a business traveler, the lack of on-site restaurant might be an issue but they do have a 24 hour food menu available and a bar for cocktails. For someone wanting a Boise experience, walking the lively downtown nearby and trying the various restaurants is a wonderful experience. read more

The room and hotel was excellent, more than enough to give it 5 stars. The room was a overly comfortable queen bed with ample pillow comfort, along with an L-shaped couch and desk. Only complaint for the room was lack of window curtains; it did have a pull-down shade but the one final day I needed to sleep in but the sun came quite a bit through. Lastly, my room's bathroom sink was not cleaned up - there was clearly hairs left from the last guest(s). Staff were very good, recommending me options for dinner late when I arrived as well as assisting with any other questions I had. Breakfast was good but some items were not hot (especially the potatoes/home fries). I also saw an outdoor pool, which was quite surprising considering it's early October and it's Idaho and was in the 30s (F) at night! I didn't check it out though, maybe it was heated... In case you are needing a backup place to stay for conferences at the Grove Hotel, it is a reasonable walk (around 5 minutes). read more

Efficient and clean hotel downtown near the Capitol and all downtown restaurants and activities. I travel often and have spent years staying at all level of Hyatt hotels. The Boise Hyatt Place fits nicely in the portfolio of facilities. First the positive - nice rooms, good service, nice breakfast selection. Convenience locations and easy to go. Now the improvements suggested - the beds don't feel like the standard Hyatt bed. I was upgraded to a room on the 5th floor - unfortunately it was about air air units and every time they came on - you heard them. I could hear the blinds being lowered and raised in the room next door. The frosted glass door to the bathroom does not offer much privacy. There needs to be a small nightlight in the room - at night with the lights off it is to dark and if you turn on bathroom light - it's to bright (see above). Overall nice place to stay. read more

We really enjoyed our stay in this classy, quiet and clean hotel. We were refreshed by the comfortable bed and clean linens. The breakfast that was included was delightful and fresh. They offered many options such as fresh squeezed juice, avocado toast, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. There were staff to disinfect the tables after people vacated their breakfast spot. The staff was polite and friendly. When we come through town again we will be staying here as it is within walking distance to terrific food options. We felt like we were home when we walked in. Nice hotel but some service related issues. We walked in and waited at the front desk for almost 5 minutes. The girl who finally helped us was not very friendly and the atmosphere not very welcoming. Just seemed like a couple of high schoolers working their first job. We were then told it cost $12 to park in their lot. Later that day, we discovered that there were no spaces available in the lot anyways (very small) and we had to park on the street. On a positive note, the hotel itself was wonderful, clean and safe. The hotel itself is nice. We've stayed here a few times before, it's very convenient and you can walk to dinner which is so nice! The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because they only clean your room if you ask and you can only receive service every 3 days. This hotel is not cheap so the fact that you're paying $130+ per night should mean you get your room cleaned every day if you request it. This isn't the only hotel we've stayed in since Covid that does this but if the guest is asking to have their room cleaned every day, it should happen. If not, don't charge normal prices. read more

A few of my best girls and I came here recently for a one night staycation. This hotel is essentially brand new and in the heart of downtown Boise. Every component of this hotel, from the lobby to the rooms, has a beautiful, clean and open feel. The Room: One big, beautiful window overlooking 11th street, two big cozy king beds with lots of pillows, a couch that sleeps 2 people, mini-fridge, television, and one squeaky clean bathroom. This is everything you'd hope for in a hotel room--comfort and cleanliness. The Pool/Hot-Tub: Here's the real reason we came here: we just wanted to soak in a hot tub. The jacuzzi could probably seat 15 people and is kept HOT. You'll have to inch your way in, but once you're in you won't want to get out (especially in the winter months). And, if you get a little overheated you can take a dip in the pool (it's kept at 85 degrees). They also have towels by the pool area so if you forget one, or just want to bundle up with an extra towel, you can! (Note: The hot tub is ADA compliant!) Continental Breakfast: The next morning we enjoyed their complimentary breakfast--coffee, OJ, cereal, granola, biscuits and gravy, eggs, bagels, everything you could think of! I had their oatmeal and it was surprisingly so good! Customer Service: Their employees are very friendly and helpful. They also have someone at the front desk 24/7 so if you ever have a question, there is someone there to give you an answer. Between the location, quality of the rooms compared with the price, and overall impression of our stay, I'd highly recommend this hotel to my friends and fam when they come into town! Pro-Tip: As of right now, parking on the street is free after 6 pm and on the weekends. The Hyatt's lot charges $12 a day. If you're coming here for a weekend stay, I'd recommend looking for a spot on the street (you should be able to find one within a block or two of the hotel). read more

Updated 3/20/19- I still like this hote for all the reasons listed below but really don't love the breakfast situation. You are expected to bus your own table but where to bus it to is not obvious which results in many people not cleaning up after themselves. Also, staff is not good about coming in periodically and wiping down tables, restocking supplies and food, etc. Fixing this would be big! I stay at this Hyatt about twice a month for 2 nights. My short review is this a good, clean, quiet hotel. I probably would not bring my kids to stay just do to the outdoor pool and limited breakfast choices but as a professional, a couple, an adult group that isn't wanting to whoop it up, this is a good choice!! Booked the room for our 20th Anniversary. Paid extra for an upgraded room with a view. When we got there a man ran us off of the sidewalk (I later realized he was the manager). We had to wait because our room was not ready, and our view was of the brick building across the road. Had to pay an additional $12 to park on the premises. The heat of the day was only in the low 80s but the ac ran all night long to keep it below 75. Very basic amenities. On a good note....it was very clean. read more
