I had read the reviews on Best Windows Inc and figured I'd give them a shot. I needed my bay window replaced so John came out with sample windows and information on the windows he recommended. Very friendly and knowledgeable. So i ordered the window and it arrived a few weeks later with the installers. They did great work and I am very happy with the finished product. I am writing this review based on the windows look and installation alone due to my windows only being a month old. John's does not lie when he says he has the best price. I searched several companies with a variety of window types and none of them came close. John does not pressure or put on a show for you like the others, just shows you what he's got and gives you time to decide. I am fully aware the windows offered are "basic" mid-level windows, but were still less expensive and had more features/quality then what the others offered. The installation process was average. Igors team took an extra day to finish. I found some broken glass, screws, and debris in the yard I cleaned so my dogs didn't get hurt. I had to call John after day 1 to see what the status was after the team left because they didn't update me. And had to remind the team about a enclosure board up. All in all John and Igor are not unapproachable. If I expressed a concern they would fix the problem. The windows, capping, and siding look great, and I will update my review to let you know how they held in the heat for winter. read more

Found Best Windows through a google search. Called John (Owner) on a Saturday morning and he came out to my home that afternoon. Best Windows was the fourth company to come out to my home and My wife and I were immediately comfortable with his straight forward, bottom line approach. John even offered suggestions on who to go with, if we did not decide to go with his company. We appreciated that he was confident in his products, but also spoke highly of others. I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing this review so that I could have some time to determine any changes. There have been some huge changes in comfortability in my home since having the windows installed. The turn around time from point of sale to installation was about three weeks. The installers were thorough and efficient in during the install. John was professional and more concerned with building a relationship thank making a sale (at least thats how we felt). I live in a city 3rd floor walk up and needed 9 6x4ft windows. Not knowing anything about windows I interviewed 5 companies taking note of the NFRC ratings, installation process, cost, warranty and various review message boards. In addition, I also took into account my perception of the sales person and whether they seemed honest and knowledgable. After compiling all the data, I decided to go with Best Windows. My prior windows were aluminum and so during the winter I kept by thermostat at 72/73 degrees and typically stayed away from the drafty windows. Since my new windows have been installed I have not had to raise my thermostat higher then 70 degrees and I no longer feel the cold air through my windows! Already I am saving heating dollars! I called multiple companies to get bids on 16 new windows and changing a French door to a slider. Jon was quick to respond and was able to come to the house within a few days. At no time did he "Require" my wife to be with me, nor did he use pressure tactics. He walked through the house and explained why he would put certain windows in different areas. He then provided us with a written estimate (great price) and told us to do some homework, think about it, and give him a call. After a few days I called him and everything was set. The team arrived and worked through some very cold days. They were polite and would explain things as they went. Even though the village I live in makes you jump through some extra hoops, everyone worked together to get things done. The crew was very clean and the work looks great. I waited until now to do a review because I wanted to see if the windows were going to let air in. My house was extremely drafty because I'm sure the windows with the house had never been replaced. I had all my windows replaced 7 years ago.In a recent rain storm 1 of the windows leaked inside my house and the carpeting got wet.I called John several times and he said he would come out the next day but didn't show,finally after calling at least 3 times he came out and said maybe it was the caulking causing the problem.He said he would send his crew over to caulk the window,never heard from him again.So I would look elsewhere for new windows. Called John to get our original windows replaced in our 1950's home. All the wood was rotted on them and they were very drafty. John came the same day that I called, although i do live less than 2 miles from him. He gave me an estimate to replace 5 windows and a big picture window with 2 casements on the side which was very reasonable. We also asked him to replace all the sills and casements on the windows as they were in very bad shape as well. 2 weeks later our windows were in and he scheduled his team to install them. He gave me a call about 45 minutes before the installation time asking if they could install the next day as we had freezing rain, very understandable. The next day his guys came to install, they were very courteous and they worked pretty much nonstop until the windows were in. The gentleman that did the wood work (I believe his name was Ivan) was very methodical and didn't rush at all. He made sure that everything was cut perfectly and installed right. He did such great work that all the other trim around my house looks horrible in comparison. The other gentleman did the outside work which looked great as well. They worked very clean for such a messy job, my house was very clean after they were complete. They took everything with them and I didn't have any material to deal with. John joked that his installers are the reason for the great reviews, I would have to agree with him as their work was incredible. I am amazed with the quality of work and window I got for the price. We have 3 more to replace and I am not going to hesitate to call John again. read more

We had already selected a competitor for our windows but had not sealed the deal based on the timing they had offered for installation. Not only did the other company give us an install date of 12 weeks out but that would have put our install in December. Because of this we were planning on waiting until February to make the purchase and get the work done in the May/June timeframe. After getting calls every few days from the other company and then being threatened about how much the price we were quoted would likely go up if we wait to book the order, we decided to look elsewhere and found John at Best Windows Inc. Loved everything about our interaction with John, he was pleasant and personable and had a zero pressure approach from the start. We told him what we had lined up with the competitor and never once did he bad mouth them but unlike them he explained that the 12 week time frame was primarily due to our 1 custom order architectural window and suggested we just have that one installed after winter and he could get all the other ones done within 6 weeks. Then he gave us our quote which was quite a bit lower than the competitor which John attributed to not having a store location to have to pay for! The main windows were all installed around four weeks later and the custom window was installed right after winter broke! Great company, great products, great owner, great service!!!! read more

A couple of us in a condo building went with Best Windows after seeing stellar reviews. After talking with others and getting some quotes, they even had the best pricing. John came out and met with us and there was no hassle at all. He stands by his products and it is sort of a take it or leave it because that is how confident he is. After we decided to go with Best Windows, John came out and measured himself and said it would take 5-6 weeks. Right on schedule, that is when they installed. The crew was super friendly and very hard workers. Each unit had 6 regular sized windows and 3 sliding doors, so it was a big job they finished in two days (covering both units that is). Payment was half up front and half when done so all that was standard. I do not have any complaints and everything looks to be solid for years and years. As for the windows themselves, I don't know a whole lot but I do know these have all the bells and whistles(child locks, can pull down to clean easily, etc, etc). When they install, they fix the wood below (slider doors) and install new trim if need be. If my neighbor doesn't do a review, I know she really loves them as well. The warranties are excellent. I also wanted to comment on some other reviews who have some complaints about things like mark ups on the wall during install, leaving nails in yards, scheduling the install, etc. People really need to remember these are contractors at a work site. Dings will happen. Maybe a pinhole will show up in a caulk line or a few screws are left behind. Maybe they go over on the previous job so they need to push yours out a few days. It is hard work and lots of things are in motion so just go into anything like this with proper expectations. It is being more realistic than judging a huge job or project based on tiny mistakes. All your windows are great (the important stuff) but a hand print on the wall and you mark it 3-4 out of 5 stars on yelp? That is 20-40% of the overall grade to you? Be realistic. With that said, I had none of these issues anyway and if you look at all the reviews, they respond quickly and fix anything. Purchase with confidence on this one. read more

So once again my trusted Yelpers did not disappoint. My wife and I were looking for a sliding patio door for a rental condo we own in Justice IL. We checked Google and some local ads and obtained a couple of estimates. We just did'nt feel the price or the commitment from these companies were a correct fit for us. Then I turned to Yelp, I should have done this from the start . I am so inclined to use Yelp for food and beverage, I simply overlooked its power for other business reviews. I found Best Windows and seen all the positive reviews and called. I spoke to John who was very accommodating and happened to be 5 minutes from the job site. John went to the location and viewed the door we were looking to replace and we did'nt even need to be on location. He contacted us and a gave me a quote immediately, and to my surprise it was 500$ cheaper then the next lowest price. I was feeling skeptical with that , its to good to be true feeling. I did further research and reread all the Yelp reviews. I found the BBB gave Best Windows a A+ rating which then gave me additional piece of mind. I called John back and excepted his quote thinking taxes would now be added with some other fee for removal or something. Nope that was the whole total, no hidden fee or extras. We then dropped a check for half the job off at John's home so he could order the door. The door came in as promised and the door was installed the day it was scheduled, without any problems. The finished product looked awesome. The installers were outstanding, fast and professional. They cleaned up any mess they made and hauled away all the garbage. They even removed their shoes upon entering the residence to use the restroom. I highly recommend this company for the quality, fair price and professionalism. read more

We just had 11 windows done and are really happy with the work. The price was the lowest, but we did not just pick them for the lowest price, we wanted a contractor who offered a great quality window, had a good reputation, and a good warranty. We got 3 quotes total. I did my homework on the type of windows that we were being offered, and we got an excellent quality window with krypton gas, double-pane, double-strength glass, energy efficient for the tax credit. John the owner is a nice guy who decided to start his own business to get out of the high pressure schemes of other companies. I met John a couple of years ago as I was searching for a reputable company to replace a number of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors to an indoor atrium I had in my house. When John came out to give me an estimate on my new windows, he was very detailed on his explanation of the windows, the install progress, and gave a great quote. In no way at all did he try and pressure me into purchasing windows from him. He came out, measured my old windows and wrote up a contact within 30 min. He then gave me a signed contract by him and explained every detail in the contract so there was no surprise down the road. I ended up using him for my windows which are way better than what I had with drafts. The installers came early in the morning to start taking out all the old windows and installing the new ones. They were installing when it was cold outside and got all the windows installed in one day. The installation team kept coming to me wanting to show me the progress they are doing. Had John come out to give me an estimate at the beginning of December on 10 double hung windows and a picture window. John was friendly and gave me the best price of the 4 contractors I talked to. Was able to get the windows installed within 4 or 5 weeks, which was a request of mine. Windows were installed at the agreed time and the installation looks great, including the caulking and capping. Only negative was that his crew left 20 or more sharp pieces of aluminum scattered around my house on the outside, which I couldn't pick up until the snow melted. Also left several screws and other scraps on the floor inside the house. If not for the mess I would have given a 5-star review. read more

Pricing was great and John was very easy to talk too with no pressure and was very cognizant of your time when discussing window needs. The prices of the windows beat all competitors we spoke with. Everything was great but a few hiccups on install. One window was cracked and replaced immediately. Installers hit a thumb rail with a hammer and again replaced without any pushback whatsoever. We still have hammer marks on most window sills after a whole home window replacement and installers forgot to caulk three separate spots on 3 different windows and only competed it after we pointed it out. There is still one gap that isn't caulked which we didn't see until installers left. Our basement sliders were the wrong order so had to wait for the replacements for a few weeks. Unfortunately our 100 dollar area rug was cut when they used a razor blade to open the packaging, in more than one spot. Finally the installers tool belts left marks on our walls with flat paint in each room and installers tried to remove it using windex. All in all, install wasn't nearly as smooth as I thought it would be and we still have some caulking and clean up to do. read more

John came in at pretty much half the price of other window guys with a pretty nice product. The windows are not the absolute best on the market obviously, but they are pretty high up there as far as insulation and overall quality. Low E windows, vinyl clad with insulation inside the actual vinyl (windows that you buy at home improvement stores are actually hollow inside the vinyl). Before they put the aluminum casing around the outside of the windows they packed the small gap between the vinyl clading and the framework with pink fiberglass insulation. The aluminum casing looked very nice. I had my siding replaced and unfortunately the siding guys removed the casing John put up and reinstalled their own. Now it looks like crap. John's guys did a much better job and know what they are doing. They also installed quarter round on the inside of the windows and it looks pretty good. The caulking job was good, nice and smooth all around the windows inside and out. The only reason I didn't give a five star review was because the scheduling got a little messed up and the workers just showed up with only about 1 hour notice. Could have been an issue, but I was home. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. read more

He was very knowledgeable about what windows could be provided and the positives and negatives of each variety. His quote ended up being more than we had originally indented on spending but it was worth it. We knew that we were getting quality windows that would last for decades to come and were being installed by professionals. Yes, we could've gone to Lowes and bought a window for half the price and fumbled our way through installation but the quality would not have even come close.
