We found Best Windows by their reviews on Yelp! We were looking at a job of replacing seventeen (17) windows on the first floor of our house. We exercised due diligence and got estimates from Gilkey, Four Seasons, Feldco, and Best Windows. Best Windows not only offered the best price of the four companies we interviewed, but also were supplying a superior product. The lack of high-pressure sales tactics, like today-only pricing and financing scams made John seem very trustworthy. John is personable and attentive, and kept in contact with us for the duration of our business arrangement. We elected to replace only twelve of the windows for financial reasons. John took detailed measurements and ordered the product. In 2-3 weeks, the windows arrived, and installation was scheduled. The workmen arrived at the appointed time and began work immediately. I was amazed that they managed to replace all twelve windows in one day. Their cleanup was flawless and the windows were very nice. The workmen also helped me correct an issue with a screen door that I had been unable to hang correctly, which was awesome for me and completely unnecessary for them, but much appreciated. The comfort level in our home during the arctic blast of the winter of 2014-2015 was much improved over earlier years. Also, it's much quieter in our home and much easier to air condition the place. This spring, we decided to finish the job and replace the final five windows. We never hesitated about calling John. We were able to get a similar price on windows that were actually more efficient than the ones we had gotten the previous year. This installation also went off without a hitch, and was done in half a day. The only small issue was that John mistakenly ordered full screens for those windows, and using window air conditioners is impossible without removing the screens. When I notified John of the problem, he immediately ordered half-screens for the new windows at no additional charge and they were delivered in a few weeks. We had a mechanical problem with one of the first round of windows this past August, where one of the springs that holds the sash up broke for no reason whatsoever. We immediately informed John, who had a representative of the manufacturer and supplier come out to the house to fix it. We had to wait a couple of weeks for parts, but this wasn't a huge deal to us as we could still close and lock the window. The repairs wound up taking less than an hour, and the window is good as new, with again, no charge to us. John is easy to work with and get ahold of. He answers his phone 95% of the time you call, unless he's with a customer. He returns messages promptly. He stands behind his work. He provides a good value and a superior product. There is a reason John has virtually nothing but 5 star reviews. The name of his company says it all- they are simply the best. I like to support smaller local businesses as more and more CEOs seem to be getting rich and you tend to get much better service and accountability from someone who actually cares about their local business. His price was extremely reasonable and I didn't have to sit with some awful salesman pressuring me for hours. We had 5 horizontal slider windows replaced back around February, and they have been awesome. Our old windows were original, 35 years old, wood framed single-pane sliders. They were awful, almost impossible to slide, and incredibly inefficient. The house was cold and all the seals on the windows were brittle and cracked. When we first moved in I thought I was going to break some of the windows just trying to get them to slide open. We had to navigate a process with our Homeowner's Association (barf) for the "right" to upgrade our property, and John provided us the necessary documentation and was very helpful. The association required black cladding on the outside to match the existing trim which John and his installers also were able to do despite it being less common. John's crew put in 5 new windows that slide effortlessly and control the temperature much better. His installers are INCREDIBLY efficient. They put in the windows more quickly than I could have imagined and did a very nice job, cleaning them up when they were done (there were some black scuffs originally I was concerned about, and when I looked again they were gone) and caulking the gaps very nicely. Quality and cost aside, as important as they are, John is just a decent human being, which goes a long way. He gives you your quote and lets you get on with your life. He doesn't pressure you one bit and guess what, that works. I will not buy from someone who pressures me. John will talk to you about your life and seems genuinely interested. It's so much more enjoyable to do business with a real person. We got our windows put in close to a year after they were originally quoted- the price was the same. In addition, when John made a small mistake with our original appointment time, he made it up to us. Everyone makes mistakes, but what you do to correct for them speaks volumes about you as a person. John truly cares about his customers and I couldn't be happier with the cost and quality of our windows as well as the integrity of Best Windows. We had Pella, Window Worx and two other companies come provide us estimates before we found John at Best Windows. It turns out that we saved the Best Windows for last ;) John was prompt, to the point, informative, and answered any questions that either my wife and I had. Setting up the appointment was easy. My wife and I both work full time and of course time is money thus we could only meet John after 7:00 pm during weekdays, John accommodated our schedules without hesitation. Pella and Window Worx took hours trying to "sell" us their highly priced windows. John took a mere 20 minutes to measure all the house windows, took another 15 minutes (yes my wife timed him because it was again, 8:00 pm and we were tired and hungry) to provide us an estimate and it was as painless as that. John reviewed the different types of windows and provided us a number of addresses of jobs he had completed. There was no pressure to make an immediate decision which both my wife and I appreciated. Over dinner, we compared all three estimates and emailed John a number of follow-up questions. The following morning we had answers to all the questions and decided to hire Best Windows. John's measuring technician came out that following weekend to take final measurements and 10 days later John called me to tell me that our windows were ready for installation and that permits had already been applied for and approved. The other window companies said it would take several weeks for the windows to be ready for installation, Best Windows did it in under 2! The morning of the installation, the installers showed up and within 2 hours had all my old windows (1st and 2nd floor) removed.. I was amazed and their speed! All new windows were installed along with all new exterior flashing that same day. Everything was done that same day! Best Windows called to follow-up to make sure that I was satisfied with their product and installation. We found Best Windows Inc. on Yelp after a disastrous attempt at getting a quote thru Feldco. Not only was Best Windows more affordable than the other companies we received quotes from, but the window quality was better too! As an added bonus we enjoyed our experience working with John (the owner) and his installation team. Unlike the salesman at Feldco who is only looking for a commission, John at Best Windows values good customer service because he knows people like me will leave great reviews and recommend him to all of my friends. John was straight forward with pricing, timeframe, and warranty which is quite the opposite experience we had with other companies. There was no pressure to buy, and even though it took us a few weeks to decide to go with him, the price was the same. Other quotes we received from his competitors were only good for that day, and had tons of hidden fees and extras. With John, I felt comfortable knowing he was giving me the best price with no hidden fees or gimmicks. The installers at Best Windows worked quickly and professionally. I was fully prepared to follow them around with a vacuum but they brought their own and left the place looking as if I had just had it professionally cleaned! One of our sliding doors did not arrive with the screen. I didn't realize it at first, and the installers had already been paid and were long gone. No big deal, I gave John a quick call and he had it worked out with the manufacturer (they had mistakenly not included it). Within the week John had the screen door delivered. The true test of a business is how they handle problems after they've been paid. I get that things don't always work out 100% smoothly, which is why I was even more impressed that this situation was resolved with ease and professionalism. Now I know, installing an entire house of Windows doesn't have to be a stressful experience. I usually don't post any reviews but John's Best Windows most certainly deserves one. We are currently doing complete renovation on our home in Elmhurst IL, and we were in dire need of new windows for our new home. The windows from 1972 were not cutting it any longer. Services: We have had several estimates, but John had come in with best presentation about his product, there was not one question that he could not answer or did not know about the product we were discussing. John did not rush his 1st appointment and has taken extra time to listen to our needs and ideas. Pricing: John's pricing is extremely competitive for the windows we have picked out. We have decided to got with his Double Hung Kingston which are very good quality windows and price is just right. John does offer Double Hung Huntington, and Double Hung Hallmark, but we have decided to go with Kingston and it was the right choice. Quality of work/product: We had 16 new windows installed and additional 7 capped. It was done in under 2 days of work, and the results are GREAT! No trash was left behind, and once again the end result is great. Our home is still under construction, but we can already feel big difference as far as the heat. Entire house is significantly warmer considering that there is still drywall to be put up and flooring. Summary: If you want good quality windows, that are priced just right and that will be installed in timely manner, then I would recommend John's Best Windows in a heartbeat. Best Windows replaced all the windows in my home five years ago. I was delighted with the ease of the whole process and I'm still happy with my windows. John was fast and thorough and his crew got the job done in a day, just as promised. I trust John enough that I referred my parents to Best Windows when they recently decided to replace their old windows. Since my parents were away the day John came to measure, I met him at their home. He was on time and went right to work. He said it would be about four weeks from that date to installation, but the windows actually came in early. John asked if the installation could be done sooner. My folks said, "SURE!" I wasn't present for the installation, but my parents said his crew completed the job in a matter of hours. My parents - a very tough audience -- can't say enough good things about the whole experience. "They look really nice," my mother told me. She also said the bathroom window is "especially pretty." Now that they have a full set of functional windows, "the cross-breeze is wonderful," said my mother. " She added that the new windows have made a difference in the noise level. The whole process went very smoothly. John came out when scheduled to give the initial bid. A few weeks later I contacted him with some changes which he rebid quickly. When I gave him a verbal acceptance of the contract he came out with his installer and did the final measurement and had me sign the contract and give him the down payment. He told me that the factory would take about five (5) weeks to build the windows. Five weeks later John called to say the windows were in and he could install them as soon as I was ready. Two days later three trucks and five men arrived to do the job. They moved with almost military precision with each man preforming his job. By the end of the day all ten windows were installed and the inside and outside cleaned up such that you would never know any work was done. Because of rain starting in the afternoon, one man had to come back the next morning to finish the exterior trim and caulking on five of the windows. John runs a very honest company. No bs about having to have "both" homeowners at the initial presentation or any special "today only" pricing like one of the companies I called. I did get four bids and it came down John and another well rated company. I went with John because I thought his product was the best in my price range and that he would do the best job. Went thru multiple replacement window estimates, John's (Best Windows) was by far the most reasonable. He did not take up to 3 hours of showing me a binder of details and data that was of little concern to me, as the competitors do. He provides the specific information you need to make an educated decision and will not pressure you into signing a contract during the visit. After I chose his company to replace 2 sliding glass doors and 9 windows, the next step was taking measurements. The man that did this was courteous and attentive to my questions. John was also attentive to questions that I had. He promptly returned my calls and gave me the exact Information I was looking for. In less than 4 weeks, Steve and his crew performed the installation. They were polite, considerate and careful while working in my house. Steve showed me how to operate the doors and windows with the locks, safety features, how to arrange them for cleaning. It was a big job and they finished it in 1 day with 3 workers. They worked hard and barely saw them rest. The windows/doors are perfect and the installation is great quality work. I unfortunately live in a subdivision where the home builder/developer put in bad windows. The houses are about 14 years old, and you would think that houses that start at $400K would have decent windows. But they don't. Like most of my neighbors I needed to replace all of my windows, I think the final count was 22 windows, and a patio door. I did on-line research, and talked to many friends who had window work on their homes, and one (an interior designer with years of experience managing construction/decorating projects all across the country) highly recommended Best Windows. Well, the job is done, and we could not be more pleased. Everything was efficiently and properly done and the price was much lower than what my neighbors said they were quoted from other companies. The quality of the windows are great -- they even drastically cut down on the noise we used to hear from the expressway about a 1/4 mile away. The crew was highly experienced and worked extremely hard, and left the house clean, inside and out. John obviously takes great pride in the quality of the work his company does, and takes pride in his approach -- no high pressure sales talk, and no BS -- just an knowledgeable helpful guy. Best windows delivered! I did quite a bit of research and spoke with a lot of phony sales people from 5 different companies! Everyone of them had a BS line for everything and a gimmick to go with the sell! John was the first guy I spoke with of the 5 places I called for quotes and the first to give me a price. He came out, was no nonsense, straight forward, and confident his price would be in the same ballpark as his competitors, he was right! No sales pressure! None of that crap "your spouse has to be home!" Or "price is good today only!" He was no pressure, and knew his product and his competitions product! I should have saved myself the headache and signed the contract that day! John came back out after I compiled all my info and quotes to measure, said he would have windows ready in about 6 weeks. 6 1/2 weeks later he called and said his guys were ready to install the windows. They came the day after Christmas, installed 21 windows, insulated, trimmed out, caulked, and cleaned up in 6hrs! We are writing to highly recommend Best Windows for your next window project. Like others, we read reviews , talked to many salespeople and had 3 companies come to our home to give us a quote. Last winter took it's toll on our dining room window. We had so much moisture coming in somewhere and freezing that the window frame was buckling. Had two quotes from to different companies than I called John at Best Windows. We made the appointment for 9 o'clock on a Thursday night he called at 8:30 that traffic was heavy would I like another date. I told him if he wanted to continue . He showed up at 9:30 after looking at the number of windows he drew up a contract with the number of windows and a price, no hard sale , no accept this offer for the best price like some of the showroom companies do. I called him on a Sunday to accept he called back that afternoon that his man would be out Wednesday to take the measurements. I got a call from his man if he could come Monday night instead. Four and a half weeks later I got a call the windows were ready and they could install them that Wednesday at 8:30. Wednesday came and they were ringing my bell at 8:15. They installed 12 windows 2 picture windows and were ready to leave by 4:30 Completed clean inside and out . We got our windows done this year and our experience working with John (owner) and Steve (installer) was awesome! John is a no-nonsense guy, he was very cognizant about not wasting either of our time. He was straight and upfront about everything regarding the project. His very helpful office staff helped us prepare the papers to get the HOA approvals. When the windows were ready, Steve and his crew came in, got to work immediately and finished the job. They knew what they were doing and required absolutely no oversight. The crew even moved the furniture they needed to move to get access to the windows. They finished the job and cleaned up EVERYTHING after they had finished the project. We went into our search knowing that we could not afford to do all our windows at once and would need to space out two or three installations over 1-2 years. Raphael, Jesse, and Greg came on a Wednesday and proceeded to rip our old damaged siding off the house. In the subsequent days, they put a new layer of Tyvek and 1/2" insulation on the whole house before installing the new Dutch lap siding. They did an amazingly neat job, cleaning up after themselves every day, and being very careful of my foundation plantings. These gentlemen were so friendly and professional, I was happy to see them each day! They are obviously very proud of the good work that they do, as they should be. The siding looks wonderful, and the house was instantly quieter. It has also stayed very cool without turning on the AC on days nearing 90 degrees. We have received many, many compliments from the neighbors, and won't hesitate to recommend Best Windows to anyone. read more
