We hired Argo to replace 9 very large, oversized windows in our family room. After getting 3 quotes, Argo came in with the best price and other reviews indicated they were decent. Their final price was less than half of our first quote, as they said they could just replace the glass packs instead of putting in new frames (that we didn't want anyway). They showed up on time, completed the job in 2 days (short of the estimated 3) and did an amazing job. They had a Ukrainian crew of 5 guys that worked extremely well together and were very respectful of our house. Their glass also has a very good warranty compared to some of the other quotes. Contacted the Aurora Argo Glass & window to have my window fixed it was leaking. I was told that they do not fix leaking windows and to contact a general contractor. I then asked if they could replace the window and was told no. This was over the phone dight unseen. They advertise window repair. I would make sure to use a cashier check for payments. The billing department attempted to bill me 3 separate times with different prices. (Stating there wasn't enough funds to take out-lies) The billing lady was very rude. I closed my credit card down because of the discrepancy. They refunded me on the spot $221 back into my bank account and sent me a check for the $82 they overcharged previously . They broke a window which I saw happen and the worker wasn't going to say anything. I told the lead worker and he said they would order a new window pane free of charge. I had planned on a good review because they did a nice job on the windows.. but the billing experience made it bad. read more

Most people want to know what company is showing up and he refused to identify himself and got really rude when I ask his name and what company he was from! So I will never hire them for a job! Had a great experience with Paul from Agro windows who managed to get the old/warped windows in my unit to lock securely for the winter. A lot of companies didn't even want to come out since I wasn't sure I needed a replacement, but Argo scheduled an appointment for the next day, clearly communicated the appointment confirmation and ETA, and were right on time. Paul fixed the issue without trying to upsell me into replacing the windows (even though it clearly needs to be done sooner or later) and didn't even charge me anything for the service visit. Argo Glass responded right away to my call to replace two windows in my condo. They sent out an estimator the next day. The bid for two custom windows with newer double pane glass was reasonable and I agreed. The windows were installed two weeks later by a team of two and the job was completed in about 3 hours, including staining the frames to match the other wood on the inside. I waited for 2 hours to have someone out for an estimate on the windows in my house (standard double hung wooden windows, house was built in 1925). In one instance the window is functioning, overall fine condition but has a cracked glass pane that I wanted to have replaced. The response was that they can't do any repairs on my windows because they are "too old" and it would be "too hard" and "not worth it" I asked what I should do and the answer was to rip the whole window out and replace it. Seemed like a pretty extreme fix for a cracked glass pane, but what do I know? I asked if they could give me estimates for replacements- the answer was that I should go to Home Depot or Lowe's and find some windows. They don't do replacements. Overall I was unimpressed, maybe they should be more up front about what kind of windows they actually perform work on and what kind of work they actually do. Maybe also have recommendations for window replacement folks on hand? Felt like a giant waste of 2 hours for all involved. read more

We needed windows repaired and screens replaced. Making the appointment and the estimate process was simple; and that's about the only thing in this process that has been simple. They are coming out for the fifth time this evening because we still have a window that will not open properly. We were told our frame is bent and unable to be fixed. I do not fix windows for a living. If the frame was bent that should have been discovered at the time of the estimate and quoted properly. The workers that come out to the house is not the person that comes out for the estimate. My husband found it impossible to communicate with the workers due to language barriers; and there is no supervisor on site to translate. They don't always answer the phone at the office and when they do they have no idea what you are talking about. read more

I live in a 40 year old house that has wood frame windows that, to my knowledge, have not been replaced. I read the customer reviews about Argo and called them. I explained that I wanted my windows inspected to decide what windows to replace and what windows to repair. A person named Paul came out and I again explained to him what I wanted. He didn't even attempt to examine the window frames. He went around and took window glass measurements. I told him, at least 3 times that I wanted the frames inspected, it's like he didn't hear me he said the frames were fine, I just needed the glass replaced. I know for a fact that at least 3 of the frames are rotting and two windows need crank repair. If this guy said 2 sentences to me, it was a lot. He just wrote a proposal for glass replacement and left. I wouldn't employ this company if they provided service for free. read more

Replaced a broken glass in a double hung window. Tech was very rough on the window and broke the slide to raise and lower the window. When he came back out, he said "it will cost you to fix this" !! After explaining that it was a result of his work he agreed to order a new part. Also, while he was at my house, he managed to break the guides on the lower window and now it does not stay open. Absolutely worthless. Made an appointment 5 days ago, they waited until they were in their way here to ask what floor and tell me it was too high for them to work. Customer service is miserable, knowledge of process is lacking - you'd be better off covering the window in plastic wrap than hiring these people to do anything. We used Argo to fix a few wooden windows that were in the 10-20 year age range. One had a broken seal with fogging inside and the other two had rotten window sashes and sill from being in the shade and condensation under the a blackout blind. I have a relatively old house and some window glasses are foggy because the panel gas leaked. Saw their advertisement in my mail box and it said to replace the double glass panels instead of whole windows to save money. I checked their Google review it was very good. I gave a trial and called to get a free estimate. They returned my call in couple of days and we scheduled the time. The technician was professional and stuck to his duty to check, measure and calculate the estimate. And he also told me what and where to be fixed. One window frame had an interior corner slightly damaged, he insisted I must let them to fix that otherwise they won't do the whole job. The price to fix it seemed very too high to me compared to the the prices of other parts of the who projects ( it was half of replace whole six panels). So I got more estimates from other companies and one estimate was to replace all the whole windows with a price a bit higher than this company provided to me for just fixing foggy glasses. So it ended up I decided not to use this company for the price reason. I might just go with replacing windows. Sounds like it would not save money as advertised. read more

Argo Glass is more concerned about getting a check then doing a good job. I used this glass company and want to talk about their BILLING PRACTICES. If you pay by credit card, they DONT TELL YOU that there will be a "processing fee". They charged me 350.00, in excess of my 250.00 estimate and a 35.00 processing fee. When I contacted them they said "it says 3% processing fee will be added to every invoice". 3% of what? the 250.00 estimate? the 350.00 fee they falsely charged me? Do you have a calculator? I am so happy that I called Argo for an estimate to fix a sliding patio screen door. The window dealer that installed it had tried to fix it several times, but it kept coming off the track at the bottom. I thought the plastic bottom piece -- which had fallen off -- would probably need to be replaced and was prepared to have Argo tell me it would take a month or more to get the part. Vlad came right on time, figured out that the real problem was that the frame was bent. He fixed the plastic insert, bent the frame back into shape and made sure the door was sliding perfectly. All finished in less than 30 minutes, we are just delighted with his work. I will always call Argo for future window and door repair! read more
