When I go to a restaurant, there's a few things I look at as red flags, and gloves is one of them. I love it when employees wear gloves to cook and pack the food, but when the same gloves are used to pack the food and take payments, that is not sanitary. After placing my order, I watched the woman use the same gloves to process payment and package food. In the front there's hot plates with fried rice and other side dishes that are packed and served by the person at the register. If the food is awesome it will have been worth the wait. I hope she speaks some more Chinese to them cooks because I Was hungry when I walk into the restaurant lol. I just heard one of the cooks yell back in Chinese and once again my translation is "I'm busting a move back here good food takes time " lol Once again this is my translation .I can tell you that the food is reasonable priced. The food doesn't taste bad. There is no taste. I've tried this place several times because it's the in-laws favorite (bland is their jam), and I will not ever eat here again. Most recently, I ordered scallops in garlic sauce (identified as hot & spicy) and asked them to make it hot & spicy. I got scallops and loads of onions and celery in a brown sauce that did not indicate the presence of garlic or any other seasoning/spice. Went here for lunch, and although I did not have one of their reasonably priced lunch specials, what I did have was pretty darn good! I had the General Chicken (their version of General Tso that was not spicy at all, but had some tang and a little bit of sweet, which was what I was looking for) w/lo mein noodles (I like that they let you sub instead of rice, a lot of places I have been to will not), a side order of crab rangoons, and hot and sour soup. The chicken was good, the lo mein noodles as well, but the crab rangoons were a little lacking (sorry to say, I have had better). I did not care for the egg roll that came w/my meal, but then I am super picky about my egg rolls. The rest of the members, especially the kiddos, seemed to love them. The standout to me here was the hot and sour soup! I am very picky about my hot & sour and this one was superb! Fantastic ingredients, just enough spicy heat to clear the sinuses and a wonderful array of mushrooms! Honestly, I could have had just the soup and noodles and been happily satiated. As a family of 6 we still had 3 boxes of leftovers to take home in the end, so needless to say, the portions here are pretty huge! Went there before and had a decent experience. So, I went back again. Charlotte struggles with good Chinese food and here's another sad argument to my declaration. I wanted the scallion chicken. The texture when first served is crispy and tender morsels. There was not substantial flavor so I requested chili sauce. I only ate half and am trying to finish it for lunch today. CAN'T. Almost every bite has a crackling bite as if sand is mixed in it. There are some foods that you don't expect to have crunches and scallion chicken is one of them. There are other good dishes that I don't recall being crunchy to this extent. But, the lady that took my order was refreshingly extremely nice!!! It's really good Chinese food with really fast delivery. One of the few places that if you say that you don't want veggies with your entre, they will just give you more of the chicken/beef/pork. They have plenty of clean tables and chairs to sit at if you wantes to dine in. The women taking orders at the frony was very friendly. When I got home with the oder, the food was hot amd fresh, it had lots of flavor...some of the best I've had!
