    5. Chicken and Shrimp Broccoli Combo Special

Good food! Quick service! Will definitely go here again and be a regular. Small area so there's no seating.

Fortune Cookie II is my neighborhood Chinese restaurant. They are always there for me when I need some quick delicious take out. They are consistent, fast and they even remember my normal order. I've been coming here for years and have tried several things on the menu. My staples are Chicken in Garlic Sauce with Broccoli combo with fried rice and egg roll, Crispy Scallion Chicken combo with fried rice and egg roll, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Wings, Singapore Curry Noodles and their Chili Garlic Oil. Their portions are amazing. We always have enough food for our family of 6 and some for leftovers. The food is good as leftovers also. After eating from Fortune Cookie II you will hate all over Chinese restaurants. They are serving superior Chinese take out and I'm so glad they are close to home! First time buying food from Fortune Cookie (7.31.20). Ordered the following items: House fried rice, cheese wontons, spring rolls and then a fried chicken wing and fried rice plate. Good - Food flavor is good and this is the first Chinese restaurant in Charlotte that actually puts bean sprouts in their fried rice. Unlike other Asian restaurants in the area the prices are reasonable for most items. Bad - They cheat you with the chicken wings. They say that 6 wings come with the order but they really only give you 3 wings and cut them in half. That is what turned a 3 star review into a 2 star review. Not cool! People are paying for 6 wings they should receive 6 whole wings not 3 wings cut in half. DONT CHEAT YOUR CUSTOMERS. Will return and buy other things but not the wings.

Fast delivery !! The food arrived about 10 mins or less after we ordered. Granted, we don't live far but still. We opted to just order from the restaurant than Postmates cause they take centuries. We heard a knock on our door and low and behold: food!! I ordered General chicken with lo mein noodle substitute & a piece of crab Rangoon. The noodles were not dry (thank goodness) and the chicken was lightly breaded if it was breaded at all. It's visible pieces of chicken. If you've had Chinese food, you know what I mean... My bf got the egg foo young with white rice. Listen, you get so much egg!!! No, you get so much food in general! I will try them out again. Def recommend!

Don't ever order pricing going up in meat but today they gave only 5 piece of meat really never again will order from them cheap owner try to help our local restaurant but when they did us wrong!!! Bad place cheap ass very mad!!! Will never order!!!

I love Chinese food and this is one of my favorites spots in Charlotte. They have the best fried rangoon and the fried rice is delicious! I always get the shrimp and beef fried rice and an order of crab rangoons. I normally order my food to go and they are pretty efficient, never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my order. They also have great chicken wings, so crispy and the seasoning is very unique. Their price is pretty fair and the staff friendly. I've never had problems with my orders and Ive been going to this place regularly for almost 3 years. One last thing, if you do not like onions ask them to not add to your fried rice, because they add a lot of onions.

Really good food at a good price. Really enjoy their Chef's Special Egg Foo Young. Egg drop soup and egg rolls are really good as well.

I actually loved the bright, comfy vibe of the place. Thought it could use a bit louder music to fill the space. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, Rainbow Dumplings and this Mango Jasmine Tea drink...and they were all pretty good. Still, I was surprised how my bill totaled about 35 bucks. Normally, I'm not too surprised by the pricing (even for lunch), but it felt a bit high...given that everything was served on paper and plastic wares. I did like how they have these DIY take-home plastic wares accessible and ready to go...so some points for that! Overall, it's just a casual eatery...not a full scale restaurant. I prefer full scale service, complete with nicely plated presentations, but this type of DIY eatery is just something that's becoming more common.

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. I've been chasing good, authentic (or nostalgic?) Chinese food, and I finally found some while visiting the area. The space is bright, open, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the actual experience was nothing like the hype. First, parking is a nightmare. I would seriously add an extra 20-30 minutes just to find a spot. Once we finally made it inside, we waited another 30 minutes to be seated. After sitting down, it took close to another 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and then roughly another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. So you're potentially looking at well over an hour and a half of waiting and inconvenience before you really get to eat. And the dim sum cart that brought us there in the first place? We never saw one. They did have a dim sum menu that we could order from, but that was not the experience being promoted in the videos we had seen. The food itself was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing justified the hype or the amount of time and hassle involved. If you've had good dim sum in places like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, this isn't remotely in the same league. Between the parking, the long waits, slow service, missing dim sum cart, and average food, I genuinely don't understand the crowds. Hard pass for us. Once and done.

It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.
