First impression walking in was they had no a/c and there was no where to sit. Great for them that people still want to sit in a sauna at the end of June, but not me. The desserts in the pics grabbed my attention so I still checked it out. An Ube cream puff and a mango passion fruit crepe cake caught my attention. I picked the mango passion fruit crepe cake to go. I ate it at home and it didn't take like mango and passion. It only tasted like white cream so not impressed with the price. Maybe their boba drinks are better, but Tiger Baby is also next door at Enson. For Boba.
Cute little shop with a whole selection of desserts to get with your boba. We tried the cookies and cream boba and the brown sugar boba with pudding. Both were delicious and tasted like a boba milkshake. Very quick service and they have very talented bakers and cake decorators. The cakes they make are sooooooo cute! And as a cake decorator myself I really appreciate other people's work. It's their art. We orders the mango crepe cake. It's super light and not too sweet. So if want a quick little dessert that won't be too heavy try a loop cake.
Very cute shop with plenty of options. The service was quick and helpful, and there were good choices for sweet vs dry, fruity vs dark, and additional toppings. I got the lychee tea with bubbles. I would have liked sweeter bubbles and less sweet tea, but to each their own! The lychee pieces were a fun surprise, too! Overall would definitely return and try some customer favorites.
Stoped here after shopping at Enson Food Market. Ordered Hokkaido Cheese Cake and my wife ordered Raspberry yogurt cheese mouse! Phenomenal! Come here and spend all your money! NO AC ISSUES TO REPORT!
Checked this place out twice already but forgot to take a photo during my first visit! The place is located next to the Enson market, the biggest Asian grocery store in Gainesville at this time. As the name suggests, they sell Asian baked goods/bobas but also have some food options like ramen, etc. I always saw at least 3 different groups dining in for food. Anyways, the store is very clean and well-maintained and the cake here is delicious. The only downside is that it is little pricey for Gainesville, but given limited Asian baked good options, will come here more often!
Drink-wise; they have a decent selection with good fruit teas. Their fruit teas taste refreshing and not too sweet. However, I did take off one star because they seem to always be sold out of multiple items when I visit. Food-wise, their ramen tends to run quite salty, which kind of overpowers any type so subtle flavors. The noodles are okay, and there's an appropriate amount of toppings in them. The egg was done well. The crispy chicken was too dry, and about a quarter of it was just fried bits.
Food was delicious, the place was clean, and the pastry display was adorable. I bought a cake from the front, and after I was given my cake, the cashier answered the phone and ignored me when I tried to pay. It was pretty awkward, so I just left cash on the counter and took the cake to my table. I don't think the AC was on, which is terrible for the workers seeing as it's 95 in the FL summer. With 3 people buying ramen and boba tea each, the total came out to like $70. Super expensive, I have mixed feelings.
I am pleased to say that several years after I first tried this place on their opening week, Tea Bestea has significantly improved their product. When they first opened up, I felt like their drinks were rather hit or miss. Sometimes the drink was made well. Sometimes the drink was so watered down with ice. But now, having come back a few more times, I think they have definitely come a long way from when they first started. They have a lot more drink options now. But even with multiple options, they are pretty consistent with their drink quality. Especially with their real tea leaf teas. The use of tea bags with real tea leaves really ups the depth of flavor in their teas and brings that enjoyable complexity to their drinks. Good job, Tea Bestea. Glad to see that you've continued to push yourselves to improve and become better and better over time :)
I love the aesthetic of the place. It's clean, bright, and inviting. This was my first time here and I felt a little overwhelmed with all the tea choices but the employee walked me through and I ended up with black tea, matcha boba, and cheese foam. Even though I got 25% sweetness, it was still a bit sweet for me although I still enjoyed it. The reason I give this place 4 stars comes down to food. Pork gyoza: 5 stars. You get six pieces, and they are wonderfully crisp without feeling greasy. Ramen bowls: 3 stars. Here's the thing, they look extremely appetizing and flavorful, but surprisingly lacking in both flavor and taste. I was disappointed with both bowls.
Tea Bestea has some of the freshest fruit teas that I've ever had outside of Taiwan. I am also OBSESSED with their homemade tapiocas that are seasonal. They always have their original golden boba, but they also have other flavors, like; mango, taro, green tea, and dragonfruit on rotation. My favorite fruit tea is their ultra blended pinapple tea. But, all the teas I've tried have been great. I recommend ordering all teas with 70% or less sugar, otherwise it is too sweet. Their Black Milk Tea with original tapioca served hot with 70% sugar is my vice. I only order their cream teas warm because it brings out the tea flavor. My family and I are addicted to their sticky honey wings and their pop chicken nuggets. The flavor is just like it is overseas. The chicken is heavily marinated and brined, so the color of the chicken is dark and bouncy. Love it! Gainesville is so lucky to have this option of teahouse that represents more classic tea styles that you would find in a tea culture society.
I love to come here for both milk tea and fruit tea boba drinks! The classic milk tea was very rich in flavor and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The boba themselves were slightly sweet and a little harder texture than I imagined, very chewy. I ordered the Sapporo miso ramen, and it was okay. Some pieces of pork were a little dry for my liking, but the little bit of dark brown flavored pork was very savory. The broth didn't taste super flavorful, and the noodles were your average store-bought noodles, an overall decent experience for Gainesville ramen. I'd give the ramen a 3/5 and the milk tea a 5/5!
Tried Tea Bestea for the first time. I thought it was just going to be a tea place by the name, but there is also Ramen and Poke. I wasn't hungry and had only stopped in for bubble tea. This place was super clean and bright and inviting. I loved the decor and plants by the windows. I got a Taro tea it was extra delicious (no graininess or anything in sight). There are various option for tea flavors and tapioca ball flavors, sweetness and ice levels. Prices seemed spot on with other tea places in the area. Food appears to be in the $10-13 range. I hate to kick a place before it is even really open, but Tea Bestea left a sour taste in my mouth. I can only comment on their service because they would not serve me. I was really excited they were finally open, with their doors opened wide and great big signs "GRAND OPENING!!" And, I entered this business wanting to love them. I do not love them. So the doors were wide open, and there were these come in, grand opening signs, and I walked in only to be scolded for bothering them and then being asked to leave so that they could deal with their stress and problems. I am baffled as to why anyone would treat another human being this way, let alone a customer who has come to spend money and maybe become a regular. I want to give these people a second chance, because everyone can get overwhelmed sometimes and behave badly, but something else caught my eye while I was there, and that is that the short menu features Ramen dishes that are over $10. It seems to me that many of these new places opening in Gainesville are creating a new higher tier of prices. Perhaps their quality will be superior, but as we have seen with some of the other new places that has not been the case. We do not really have a good Raman place in G'ville, so I am going to use Electric Raman as the standard and they lurk around 7 dollars. If and when I do give these people another chance, their product needs to be at least 40% better than Electric Raman to justify the price. Tea Bestea, don't open your doors and invite me in only to ask me to leave without serving me. You are off to a bad start. read more

The poke bowl was REALLY good I 10/10 recommend that!!! The boba tea can be hit or miss, I got the mango green tea weeks back and it was way better than the one that was made this time around but still very good , they use real mango! Awesome place, go check it out read more
We tried this place on a whim when deciding to meet up with some friends last minute. They gave us some recommendations on what to get. The place has cute decor and has a couch space which is quite cool too. I ordered the bestea salmon poke bowl with a rose milk tea. I'm used to bentos poke bowls but this was a nice switch up. I wasn't sure how my bowl was going to be since I usually like to make my own bowl and this was already created but it was yummy! My friend and Our orders someone how got messed up but the owner/manager(I assume) was super nice and very accommodating. My bowl wasn't supposed to have rice but it did and hers was supposed to have rice but did not but he was super nice that he brought her extra rice and it came out super hot. The rose milk tea, I was pleasantly surprised by it! I've never had milk teas before so I was really excited to try it out. If you like floral flowery like flavors, then the rose tea you will love! I'm not a floral drink person but my friend said it was good and since I was new trying things, I went with her recommendation! I definitely would get both items again and I definitely want to try more milk teas! I wish I would of got the tapioca balls in my drink but will try it next time! Definitely a solid spot with a nice ambiance for food and drinks. The wide array of teas are always refreshing and they serve a good variety of foods as well ranging from popcorn chicken to Poké to ramen. The menu is just diverse enough to try different things and not get overwhelmed while keeping people coming back for more. Pricing is fair and the staff is usually pretty friendly. A go-to spot for a quick snack, drink, or a nice meal! read more

I ordered their vegetarian ramen and a taro milk tea. First, I was delighted to see you could select the sugar ratio in your tea and I was able to order less, which means I could really taste the tea and taro root. It was amazing. Also, their ramen isn't overly salty and has a robust flavour (which is always wonderful for a vegetarian to find). The veggie dumplings are deliciously herbal and STUFFED with filling. I'm giving this place 4 stars because it was good but it didn't really amaze me. I gave it 4 instead of 3 because in my drink the used mango! Like a real mango. Unfortunately, I ordered like 7 or 8 drinks I knew there was a drink that was going to get messed up and I called they offered to fix it. They were sweet about it even though I was irritated. Boba was good and fresh and unfortunately the aloe wasn't for me.. but I think it was cause it was fresh aloe and not that other stuff in those drinks naturally. read more

I heard such mixed reviews about this place that I was not sure exactly what to expect. My review is based on my experience w the boba drinks I've had here, not the food. The first time I came here, I tried the oolong milk tea with boba. This was after the bogo promotion so there were not a lot of people. The place seems clean and well-kept, including the restroom areas and the tables. The service here is friendly, and they offered suggestions for different types of boba when they were out of the original. Drink wise, the oolong milk tea as good flavor and the matcha boba was chewy enough w good flavor. The other drink I got to try on the second visit was the Yogurt Green Tea drink. I enjoyed this more than the milk tea options! The yogurt and green tea was very flavorful, and they suggested the crystal boba, which was kind of like aloe jelly. I wouldn't get the crystal boba again tho, because it wasn't anything special. I give 4/5 because my two experiences of going there were decent and the drink options I liked. I took a star off because my friends cup was not properly sealed, so they had to reseal it. I'm hoping their drinks stay consistent and their boba as well. I've heard that their food options like the ramen is good. So I'm hoping to try that next time! read more

Amazing. Simply splendid. I got the vegetarian ramen bowl and oh my god I was in heaven for the 5 minutes it took me to guzzle it down. Don't get me wrong, it's a big bowl of food. It was just so good that I ate it so quick. The noodles are not over or underdone. They are perfect. The broth was TO DIE FOR! The green milk tea was amazing too. In my opinion the black milk tea tastes better, but the matcha bubbles are better than the original bu I have found my new and permanent ramen place in Gainesville, heck, even in the heart of Florida. Food was good. The ramen broth had a nice taste to it, the boiled egg was brown and the yolk looked almost clear which was a bit odd to me but overall ramen was very good. As for the curry chicken, it was probably some of the best tasting curry chicken. The place itself was very nice looking and clean, the staff was nice. Overall a nice experience. read more

As a long time resident of Gainesville, I've been to most of the boba places pretty regularly. I've seen the boba scene in Gainesville change and grow. It was my first time visiting tea Bestea and was a bit apprehensive since I like my OG boba places. Walking into the boba shop, it looks very clean and everything is brand new. There's a cute area in the front with a comfy couch and chairs to have tea and chat with friends and tables in the back for food or study. There are ample outlets. The kitchen is open concept so you're able to see how the food is prepared, which I appreciate. I ordered the shrimp poke bowl and black milk tea with the homemade original boba pearls. Both of them cost $8.90. I've been to other poke places like J petals and was expecting more or less same quality/ quantity. I was so pleasantly surprised! The freshness of the ingredients surprised me. I see the owner cutting up fresh ingredients in small batches and it really shows. Now to the boba. I'll describe the boba pearls first, it was so good ! It is all made fresh from scratch here at the shop and it tastes sooo good. It tastes chewy but not soft. It's flavorful and since it is organic and homemade it doesn't have any artificial taste. To be honest it is my first time tasting homemade boba pearls and I'm hooked! The milk tea tastes phenomenal! I got mine 70% sweet and I thought it was perfect. The staff was a bit confused in the beginning with my questions about the food, but the owner came and explained and accommodated me. I think overall, the food and boba is superior than the other boba places in Gainesville. I recommend this place for lunch. read more

This is a new tea place that opened recently. I tried the pineapple green tea. It was a quite refreshing drink in this Florida heat. The tea tasted like freshly squeezed pineapple juice. The green tea flavor was not to overpowering. I would recommend getting the drinks with less ice or no ice. The ambience of the store is modern and sleek. A great place to study. Also you can see your order being built in front of you. A friend of mine my got the strawberry green tea. He also enjoyed the fact they used real fruit in their drinks. read more
This was probably the worst boba tea I've had in Gainesville and possibly the worst I've had anywhere. I ordered the Taro milk tea with matcha boba, but later they told me they didn't have matcha boba, so I said regular boba would be fine. I was a bit excited to see the tea wasn't purple and looked like it was made with actual Taro, but when I tasted it I was sorely disappointed. The boba pearls were just sad and deflated, and not sweetened with honey like I am used to. The tea was very weak and I couldn't tate the Taro at all. In fact, if you placed the drink in front of me and let me taste it without telling me what it was, I probably would not have been able to guess. The place was very chic, modern, and spacious, but at the same time it just felt cold, a bit dirty, and almost industrial. Also, there was apparently a BOGO deal when I went, but the cashier didn't say anything about it to me and I didn't see any signs for it so I just got one drink. In my opinion, I think it would be more fitting to call this place Tea Worstea. read more

This boba shop is located right next to youfit and the yoga pod! It is a good location next to the other restaurants and stores on 34th. I had the oolong tea and it wasn't bad. They also have ramen and poke which is a cool addition if you want something different. I came here to study and I would recommend bringing a jacket because it gets cold very fast. Nice that's there's internet but there was only a few spots where I saw outlets. It is a big space which is convenient and I went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded at all. Recommend to try if you're into the boba teas! read more

**Disclaimer: this review is based on their boba teas only, not their food** My family and I were looking for boba after having lunch in the area and stumbled upon Tea Bestea while scrolling on Yelp. We walked in and immediately wished we had come here for lunch, as their food menu looked excellent, authentic, and freshly made. Unfortunately, we only had the boba, which was lacking in many departments. I ordered the taro milk tea with half sweetness, which was not made with real milk, but rather milk powder, and as a result tasted grainy and pasty. They offer a very limited flavor selection in their milk teas, which was also disappointing. Two others ordered the strawberry rose tea with 1/3 sweetness, yet their drinks were extremely sweet (even sweeter than full-sugar juice). I'm not sure if there was an error in understanding the sweetness request, or if the strawberry rose tea at full sweetness is diabetes in a cup, but something was definitely off. As far as their boba offerings go, they have original bubbles (which are made of brown sugar, no tapioca bubbles are offered), mango bubbles, and matcha bubbles. I really missed the original tapioca bubbles, and I wish they had more flavor options as well as appropriate sweetness levels. I would return to try their food, which looked authentic and tasty, but I won't be back for the boba. read more

Got the taro milk tea and they had no boba. The drink definitely had some other tea in it and just didn't taste great. We also got the teriyaki chicken bowl and it tasted terrible. Was half the size of regular portion (for $10) and was salty af. It also took 20+ min to make :( read more

Visiting town for work and wanted a quick bite before heading back to hotel. The Signature Ramen was the best Ramen I've ever had. For those not familiar with Ramen, the best description for this is to imagine the best chicken and dumplings or chicken noodle soup broth you've ever had...this was better.
