The tl;dr: our gate was broken (thanks, Google Fiber guy) and Woody's got it operational again with minimal hassle. So, this is a family owned business--mom and dad do the books; the son does repairs (with help). Mom answers the office line and is super cheerful, dad is hilarious and really kind. Chance, the son, knows his stuff when it comes to gates. We knew that our gate--which was installed by previous homeowners--wasn't great, but Chance gave us details on how to "reboot" it on our own, along with helpful tips to extend the life of the setup. I found their prices more than reasonable for a service call, as well. Again, small business, so your mileage may vary if you need something major done. However, they are more than competent and kind.

They had what I needed and an appointment was set up for the opener to be installed in less than 24 hours. Buddy showed up. He was pleasant and personable while he worked at a fast speed taking the old opener off and installing the new opener. He replaced the spring and rollers for two garage doors. Afterwords he lubed both garage doors. His work was excellent. He was efficient and fast. We have more garage door openers to replace and will call next week to schedule an appointment. Jeff and his crew built a very simple and small raised patio for me in April 2024. Initially, some…read moreof the pavers were unlevel and crooked, so he came back and reinstalled them, resulting in an even worse appearance. By June, the entire patio had shifted with pavers lifting and sinking as it was deteriorating from the ground up. The patio was built on an existing concrete slab and having had no rain there was no reason the patio should have been falling apart so quickly. I called in a licensed inspector who determined from the construction pictures I had taken that it was not built correctly from the beginning. Everything about the construction was wrong - from using the incorrect gravel to the compaction method, leveling technique, and sloppy paver installation. The inspector's opinion was that this patio could not be fixed but needed to be completely rebuilt. He called it a "bad do-it-yourself" project. I had Jeff come back to see the mess and he actually hung his head in shame, said he was embarrassed, and admitted it was a disaster. Because the work was still under warranty, he offered to fix it or replace it. As I told him, I had no confidence that he had the knowledge, skill, or crew to rebuild it. He then offered to refund my money, which I thought under the circumstances was the right thing to do. However, his business partner insisted they "fix it under warranty" and rescinded the refund offer. I spent a lot of stressful, sleepless nights agonizing over how to resolve this. While I realized that providing the warranty work is all they are legally liable for, I could not foresee the next year of dealing with a rebuilt patio that would likely be a second structural disaster. The pictures show only small examples of the sloppy work and do not capture the overall rollercoaster appearance of the patio. In the end, I hired another contractor to rip out the patio, haul away the six-month old inferior building materials, and rebuild it. The difference in the two patios is astounding and I have now a beautiful patio that is sound and solid. While Jeff is a nice and likeable person, this was the worst contracting experience I have ever had in forty years of dealing with contractors.
