Dr Mehdi immediately was dismissive of my complaints, came into the room conducted a physical exam which consisted of listening to my heart & breathing through my sweatshirt and feeling the lymph nodes in my neck. He did not look in my ears or throat. He proclaimed that I had a cold and wanted to send me home. He also denied the order of the flu test saying "we haven't seen any flu". I asked to see another physician for a more thorough exam to which I was denied. They sent in a nurse manager who explained that I cannot see another doctor and Dr Mehdi said I needed to go elsewhere. I spoke to her for 30 minutes and begged her to run my flu test and to see another physician. They eventually ran my flu test but denied me a more thorough exam. Dr Mehdi also denied a CBC (blood test) and said I'd have to order that on my own elsewhere. I immediately went to seek care from another medical facility which I was provided adequate care and was diagnosed with STREP group A & prescribed antibiotics within 20 minutes of the exam which included looking at my ears nose and throat. Be warned. Dr Medhi is an incredibly arrogant and pompous physician. He is more concerned with being correct than doing his job. What type of physician denies a flu test? Look no further than the reviews here. I wasn't the first patient he missed the diagnosis of.

I…read morecouldn't get in to see my PCP so after an anxiety attack from my blood pressure being elevated (I continuously monitor at home 168/91) I went to the Urgent Care. Dr Leaf was very empathetic, and I feel like he did listen to my concerns. He prescribed me a short-term anti-anxiety medication to help get me through my mental anguish and reassured me that while my blood pressure *is* high that I am not "in crisis" and agreed that my anxiety about it being high was only making it worse. Here it is a month later and I am happy to report that my blood pressure has significantly reduced due to my anxiety being under control. I'm regularly getting 138/80 readings which are still a tiny bit elevated but nowhere near where they were which does make me feel a lot better. Thank you!

The doctor was pleasant enough and I was able to get some meds that helped the issue (not completely, though, and it did return). The issue was the billing. Then the complete absence of customer care. When I went in, I asked how much the visit would cost and was quoted a number. I then verified this a couple of times, all with the same answer. So, imagine my surprise upon receiving a bill for almost double what I'd already paid! I called the office and was told they would *not* honor the quote I was given. When I asked why, I was told it's not their policy and that I should have read the policy document more thoroughly. (More about that below.) Eventually, I spoke with Dr. Leaf who apologized that his office staff did not provide the proper information and that he would work on training them better. OK, that's a good start. But what would he do for my situation? Would he honor the quote the office manager gave me (multiple times)? That's when he started getting pretty hostile. He changed tactics and accused me multiple times of misunderstanding the staff. Multiple times, I repeated that my husband was there with me and heard the conversation. When that didn't work, he changed tactics again and blamed me for signing the policy document saying that I should have read it more thoroughly. Here's what I pointed out to him . . . . When a person comes in to an urgent care center, their main concern isn't paperwork. Their main concern is getting help with an urgent medical issue they are facing, and they aren't always in a mental state to absorb the plethora of legalese built into a policy document. Knowing this happens was the main reason I asked for a quote - and verified it several times. He knows this too, but it's easier to take advantage of someone in a desperate situation. I pushed again and asked if he would resubmit the paperwork and honor the quote. Again, he refused, this time stating he couldn't according to his policy with the insurance company. Interestingly, when I spoke with an insurance agent (not a CS rep), she told me 1) yes, he could have honored the quote I was given, and 2) alternately, he could have submitted a corrected claim. Overall, I was shocked at the hostility I faced from the office staff who blamed me for signing the policy statement to the doctor who accused me of first misunderstanding, then not reading the document. And shocked at the lack of customer service. Sad that it came down to blaming the patient for trusting the office manager and an unwillingness to make the situation right.

Both times, in an email the day before, I had confirmations with an entirely different provider, a man Christian. I had to cancel those because all I wanted was a Pap smear, which I did not want a man to do so. I had to make 3 separate appointments before I got an appointment with a female provider, causing a delay of 2 months. When I arrived for actual healthcare, a Pap smear, physical, or both, I made it clear that I was there for that, but my priority was a Pap smear. I was not given paperwork to fill out my history in the office myself, or beforehand. I told them I was a cash pay patient, had a crowd sharing healthcare plan (CrowdHealth). I made it very clear that I had no insurance and asked what the visit would cost. I told them I wanted to pay before I left and also wanted to know what the cost would be. They said they didn't know, it would depend on what the PA decided to do. The lady at the front desk said there were three different cost possibilities starting at $175, but up to just a few hundred dollars. My wait in the lobby was very brief, because I was right on time, and then an MA weighed me and did my vitals, then placed me in a room. I thought it was strange that she left without telling me to get undressed. After a few minutes, PA Kelly King entered the room. She was very nice. She sat down and informed me that she needed to get a history, and that we would talk about getting an exam later. What? That's literally what I made the appointment for. an exam.I am an ER nurse and I know very well how easy it is to enter data. PA King said mid appointment she would not address any other health concerns within an annual physical this appointment. She said I would have to come back. What an idiotic process. I had recent blood work 4 months ago with LabCorp that I tried to show her. She did not want to see it. I offered to send these records of my recent labs to the office, and she said the front desk would take care of it afterward. When escorted out to the front desk, they wanted me to sign a release of records, even though I said I could print them and bring them in. I waited 25 min in the lobby while the reception staff said they still could not tell me the cost of my visit, because PA King had not entered the diagnostic codes, then that the bill was very high and I should wait and go home until they fix it. I explained before, and after I wanted same day cost & to pay. Then this morning I got an email that my bill was $726, all to be questioned by a PA about information I could've literally entered myself online. My Pap smear was converted to a data entry visit. What other industry do they absolutely refuse to tell you what something is going to cost beforehand, or afterward? In what other industry do you book an appointment for a product A, then get given product B, then they still won't tell you the cost? Healthcare is a total scam. This is coming from an experienced nurse, someone who's practiced medicine for 31 years as an ER nurse. In what insane world should a PA be able to charge $726 for 15 minutes worth of data entry basic work? That's $2904 per hour for just one PA out of several in that clinic. This was a scam, and I did not get the product that I directly asked for at the front desk, made appt. for, nor any transparency in the cost.
