The Providence Immediate Care Clinic on Scholls Ferry Rd has been a reliable and trusted source of care for my family. You can set a time to come in or simply show up with no appointment. We have never had to wait for more than 5 minutes to be seen. The front desk staff, medical assistants, and doctors are all very attentive. Visits are addressed very quickly/efficiently, but we alao never feel rushed. I have chronic pain and complex conditions. They always show me respect when I am trying to suss out how to approach a nagging issue until I can see my specialists or PCP. Sometimes all I need is an ear and to make sure I'm okay, and they do just that. My son has asthma and severe allergies during seasonal changes. It's never been an issue coming in every three months to talk about another flare up and how to manage it until we can see his PCP. Bonus points for location! Oil change and car wash in the same lot. Coffee and donuts across the street. A block east there is a Rite Aid, a Whole Foods, Dollar Tree, Burgerville , and McMenamins.

I have visited a few places, more than once, for flu, strep, etc. and every time the bill shows "Emergency Department" if I go to Providence Tanasbourne Immediate care. Look at your statements. My last 5 star review here was 7 years ago. It may really depend what provider you get. This was a woman provider and it was a clusterf***. I dont know her name but it was 8:06pm on Wednesday 12/28/2022. Last night we took the 20 year old, who has been having abdominal pain, trouble breathing, and nausea since a long traumatic hospital stay (that included 3 weeks in the ICU and 13 days on a ventilator), into urgent care hoping for a chest x ray. The PCP had ordered one at OHSU but the pain was so bad we could not wait. We needed to know what was up and now and because of the trauma/stress factor we were really hoping to avoid the ER. Urgent/ immediate care lets you make online same day appointments now which is helpful, and they are open until 9.Since I work til 7 and kid was ok waiting it seemed ideal. They also tell you how many are waiting which is only useful if your interaction with the providers is good. Ours was not. It sucked. The kid wanted to go in by themselves but has anxiety and is kinda alternative (blue hair, funky clothes) which can and honestly has caused past mistreatment by doctors. I am sorry to say this, but it is true. The nurse was great. The doctor was not. My kid described the symptoms of concern but was cut off. The doctor immediately focused on losing weight ( the kid isn't that big but was swathed in oversized clothing for comfort and the kid said "actually she was bigger than me". Please note the kid never fat shames anyone but could not comprehend this doctor's behaviors). The doctor insisted it was "a gallbladder thing, not a lung thing" and said they "would not do a chest xray" which is the reason we went here with the PCPs blessing. The doctor also pressed hard on the kid's abdomen without asking first/ giving warning which freaked the kid out and caused more intense pain. The doctor was again insistent about the weight and the gallbladder. They reiterated there would be no xray. My kid said " Can I leave?" and promptly left. DISTRAUGHT. Feeling like no one cared. It was a ten minute fiasco. On the way out the kid heard the doctor say to another staff " I can't help people who don't want to be helped." At 4am the next morning , because we GENUINELY NEEDED AND WANTED ACTUAL HELP, and the kid was in screaming agonizing pain, we went to the ER at St. Vincents. I had to resort to major bribery to get the now more traumatized kid to go. We had a 4 hour wait ,in a very crowded waiting room, with the kid asking me to leave the entire time. Finally we were called back and then we were there four and a half more hours in the exam room. Sigh. BUT. The ER doctor was caring, amazing, he listened,he had read the ICU records and he ran an x-ray, ultrasound, and bloodwork. The kid's gallbladder was FINE. All the organs were fine. Weight was not even mentioned. Bloodwork was perfect. I was worried about a collapsed lung which the dr said was a legit concern, that happened in ICU and can reoccur, but the lung was not collapsed. The symptoms are caused by serious scarring on the lung from the events at the ICU. There might also be nerve damage from when the ICU doc reinflated it which is common. It will take time, pain management, and rest to heal.It was so great to have actual answers and a doctor who explained everything thoroughly. We won't be going back to Providence Urgent Care Tanasbourne ever again. Useless. And really it was bordering on malpractice. If you do go and get the woman provider ask for someone else. I wish I knew her name to tell you. What a disaster though. IT WAS THE KIDS LUNG YOU NIMNOD! Sorry. I am more than a little aggravated. I just want medical care to do better, be better. I get it. It is hard work. It is thankless. I am a mental health therapist who worked through Covid while undergoing cancer treatment. It sucked. On both sides of it. It has been a crazy hard few years. But don't treat people like that. Do better.

Express care is less expensive than an urgent care and was just a copay on my insurance. I was told that they deal with less urgent matters and are comprised primarily of physician assistants and nurse practitioners as opposed to doctors. He and the medical assistant were so friendly and nice! They were able to flush my ear out and I was able to finally hear again! The only downside to the clinic is that it is a little small, so small that you might miss it. It is located to the right of the pharmacy. There is a tiny waiting area of about 4-5 chairs outside two exam rooms. I was just glad there is an alternative to urgent care where you have to sit in a waiting area full of sick people. My review however is based on what followed afterwards. The main provider promised me a phone call that evening because the wait time to review x rays would be a while. I told her she could leave me a voicemail if she'd like but she earnestly reassured me that she would like a phone call to discuss my chest congestion and x rays and that she'd most likely prescribe me some antibiotics to help since it's been forever and my breathing was concerning to her. She never called. The next day I called the clinic to tell them about the situation and the receptionist on the following day was quite rude and short though I was being very kind and grounded about it and I was just asking for a solution. He kept avoiding giving me something actionable so I asked more follow up questions asking for action and we ended the call with him saying that he doesn't know he wasn't there but that he'd write a note for the shift provider and the provider I saw It's been two days now and still crickets. This happened last year so things may have changed and walk ins might be welcome now. I wish that I could have reached the receptionist to confirm before we made the drive, the automated system made this impossible. I hope this is helpful to anyone who needs last minute care. As for the care provided here I cannot speak to that because we didn't receive care here. So perhaps look to reviews of those who have received care at this location. Also I want to clarify the way the clinic is structured is not the receptionists fault, she is merely employed by this clinic. It would be wise to structure more flexibility for care options and walk ins in certain cases. I hope this helps someone. Oh and to the kind patient who looked up nearby urgent cares the world needs more people like you, Thank you for your help and kindness.
