I called Bestway AC to fix a loud noise my air conditioner it made every time it shut off. Albert, the owner and technician, spent about 2 hours analyzing and repairing it and also gave me a guarantee. About 2 days later, the air conditioner started to make the loud noise again. I called Albert and scheduled another appointment. He came back out again, spent another hour testing and replacing s few more parts, and fixed the unit! I would recommend Bestway to anyone who wants an honest company that are experts and "problem solvers". He came out and replaced my AC compressor for $1,200. The compressor lasted only four months and then failed. The AC unit itself is only four years old, so it is not an old unit. When I called him back, he said the whole unit needed to be replaced. I told him no -- replace the compressor you installed four months ago so the system can work. He then claimed he never gave me a warranty on his work. I pulled out his own invoice and showed him that it clearly states there is a one-year warranty. He lied about the warranty. After his second visit, I called two other technicians to diagnose the problem. They found that the underlying issue was a faulty TXV, which caused the compressor to burn out. This should have been diagnosed and fixed before replacing the compressor. After that, he lowered his price to $560, but then added another $1,000 to fix the root cause of the problem. So he charged me $1,200 for the original repair, the compressor failed after four months, he gave me the wrong diagnosis and tried to sell me a whole used unit, then lied about the warranty and wanted to charge another $560 plus $1,000 to fix the failed repair and the underlying TXV problem. Very dishonest and unprofessional. I would not recommend this technician. read more

Gets a star for coming out without a service charge and early. The rest of the interaction was not great. Asked for $500 to change the "starter" after looking at my unit (with a bulging capacitor) for 1 minute. I kept asking if the "starter" in question was the capacitor or the motor. I kept getting told the "starter" without clarification. Had another company come out and replace the $12 capacitor for $100 including labor. Bestway was trying to rip me off. Wow!!! bestway by far is the most honest and cheapest air conditioner repair in the Houston area. He came out in the morning and fixed our air conditioner for a very little cost. Yesterday we had one of the majors come out and they tried to get $9000 out of us to fix the air conditioner. Albert fixed the air conditioner for a fraction of that cost in 10 minutes. From the beginning, he stood out because he was one of the only contractors willing to provide clear model numbers and detailed specs upfront, which made it much easier to compare options. I know that some companies they do not give you what they say, but this company give you what they say on the estimated that is free and also if is not in the invoice is not in the price and depends of what you need that they recommend. If they do not change the ducts is because you will not need or because you say is to expensive just change the machines. But this company did exactly that they say they will do it. I was referred to Albert by a friend and didn't read any reviews. BIG MISTAKE!! Albert is charming when he's getting you to purchase services. He quotes you for new parts but will give you used parts. His work is messy and unsafe. So I had an issue with some defective coils on my lennox AC system and had previously called an AC technician recommended on Angie's list that came out. They couldn't tell me what the issue was and that they would have to come out again. Not only did they charge me a fee for coming out the first time, but they would have charged me again for having to come out the second time. I was recommended bestway ac services and Albert Chacon came out and not only found the issue, he gave me a free estimate. On top of great service, he educated me on the issue and was extremely reasonable on the price. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE- This is one business I would not be able to refer to anyone. I was deeply disappointed with the short cuts they took in replacing my AC unit and furnace. They did not replace any of the old ducking, wiring or copper when they replaced the unit and furnace. Now I have ducking that is over 10years old and wiring and copper more than 20years old with a brand new unit. I doubt the new unit will work as good as it should. Even the friend who referred us to this business feels like I got a bad deal and feels horrible for even referring this business. He even suggested that I report it to the BBB and I will definitely do that as well. The owner of this business is s great sales person but unfortunately very deceiving. When I called him back about the ducking, wiring & copper he tried to say that It did not need replacing. I explained to him that people I know in the same business said that new ducking, wiring & copper is always included when installing a new unit and furnace and he replied by saying that maybe I was confused because I talked with others about it. That is the one thing I hate is for someone to think I'm stupid and get confused easily because I am a female. I was very offended by his comments. I tried writing comments on his FB business page and my comments are not open to this public to see so now I am turning to Yelp and the BBB to inform the public about this business. They came out for a estimate the next day on a Friday. Installed the following Monday. Work was done quickly and cleanly at a great price. It looks properly done inside and out. New HVAC works much better than before. I will call them first if ever in need of more work done. My only suggestion would be for them to add one year labor warranty.
