I had 3 companies come out and provide estimates. One company was excessively overpriced and the other two were within $250 of each other. I went with Valderrama after reviewing the whole package deal of price, manufacturer and incidentals. They used Carrier products, replaced the entire line set and power cut out and raised the base pad about 12 inches off the dirt to keep the unit from getting grass and dirt in it from weed eating. Mr Soto was professional and prompt about the install. His guys showed up on time and finished in a day. They did a good job of cleaning up and Mr Soto did the final inspection personally to make sure everything functioned correctly. If I ever need HVAC services, Valderrama will be my company. read more

The A/c quit for the second time in a month. Low Freon and burned-out wiring and a part in the outside unit, again. We have this covered under our electricity contract but they say it is time to replace it, in the last 6 years we have had ten calls out. But they came back over $13,000 for the midrange estimate. I called around and got 5 more estimates. Valderrama was the lowest and only replaced what we wanted and it was a new high-efficiency system. Some other companies were very good but couldn't match their $7,500 price. It has an 18-month parts and labor warranty and a 10-year warranty on parts. They scheduled within 2 days and took less than 4 hours for the attic and outside units. Excellent friendly service. read more

Jose Manuel Soto dba Valderrama AC TACLB00035356C. I paid this company full price they invoiced, to install new Condenser, Evaporator coil, Furnace. Immediately after installation, there were several issues - Thermostat was not working and Condenser was leaking refrigerant hence the AC was not cooling. After pursuing and after several back and forth, they finally installed new Condenser unit with damaged fins. It appears they might have installed refurbished unit. After several texts and emails they now have refused to install good equipment that I paid for. The equipment is under warranty, however they are dishonest company who are unwilling to install good equipment. read more

Don't let their free estimate and polite staff fool you, they are dishonest and price gouging. They tried to charge me $750 to unclog my condensate drain line . Told me they needed special tools and that's why it cost so much. When I told them I would call them back after I consulted with my father, they texted me and went down to $600. I got 4 other quotes from other companies around Houston and they ranged from $125-$160. So sad that people are really out here trying to take advantage of other people. read more

Jose was very responsive and straightforward in giving his quote. Once we gave our consent to move forward, he immediately had one of his crew come onsite to work on replacing the blower on AC. His team member, Ishmael, was very pleasant, respectful and thorough with this work. Although they found a couple more things needed to have it running better, Jose kept his price the same since he committed to it. I'm super happy with the job they did. The price they quoted me for a 5 ton AC system install was cheaper than other companies quoted me for 3.5 ton and 4 ton installs. The new 5 ton outside condenser is huge but it is super quiet. Way quieter than the 16 year old 3.5 ton it replaced. And it cools my house way way better. Before with my old 3.5 ton system, my exhaust vents would struggle to get down to 75 degrees. Now with my new 5 ton the vents gets down to 58-60 degrees. Very happy I picked Valderamma AC. read more

Very quick and responsive to calls. I called on a Sunday evening and they were able to come out by Monday morning. My job was very small, just re-lighting of a pilot light in the gas heater for a hike inspection. I do have to say that it was in my opinion very costly ($180) for a 5 min or so task, but I do understand that they have a standard call out fee. read more

Jose arrived in 1/2 an hour after my call. He tested the power circuit and determined I did not have one leg of 3 phase voltage due to a blown fuse. Jose is honest. He could have told me anything else and charged me for it. read more

Turns out they installed a 410A evaporator coil to an R22 Condenser and they didn't install a R22 TXV to regulate the Freon. I had to get them out to fix it after calling a different company to diagnose these issues. read more

The tech showed up on time, but could not locate where I lived. He tried to diagnose the furnace and don't know exactly why there's no heat coming out. He thinks the mother board needs to be replaced. Then I told him that the thermostat needs to be replaced, so I have a new thermostat on hand and gave it to him to install. After he installed the thermostat there was heat coming out. Thank god I have a new thermostat on hand otherwise he would ordered a new motherboard. Then he said he have to charge me $189 just to change the thermostat. If I knew it would be that expensive I would of change it myself. I would not Not recommend this company to anyone. read more

We had our downstairs unit replaced summer of 2017 and picked their top of the line unit and Jose convinced me to replace the upstairs unit as well even though it was working fine....what a big mistake. The downstairs unit works fairly well but the upstairs unit is a disaster. Till this date - it is not working properly. We tried adding a zone system which cost many thousands of dollars and told this would be the solution. We have had the carrier people themselves out here and nothing has improved. I have actually had to purchase a stand alone dehumidifier just to keep the humidity levels down. And again I did purchase the most expensive unit he was offering at that time. Jose kept telling me he had the same issues with his unit which did not make me feel any better. To their credit - they did try to "fix" the issue and he said he would take care of it - but finally he stopped returning my calls or emails. So I had to go to another company - AirTech of houston to come out and fix the problem. So my advice is to stay away and save yourself a headache! read more

If you like a few details read. I had a fantastic mini split installation experience with Valderrama AC. I bought a mini split system on my own and contacted 6 or 7 AC contractors for the installation. If you're like me (taking the time researching about a subject), probably you have found about the horrors and unfair practices of some AC companies, that's why I called a few. In the end, I narrowed the list down to these guys and another contractor. The other contractor's bid was a bit lower than Valderrama's, yet I didn't choose them. Usually, if I can't get a job like this done on my own I try to read and document myself as much as I can to learn about what it takes and possibly find where could problems lie. On the mini split that I bought there were manufacturer's specifications on the flares and the torque needed to tighten those flares. Neither contractor carried the mini split brand I bought. This is what helped me choose Valderrama AC even though they were slightly higher on their bid. The other guys were very professional and laid out a plan on their visit. However, they didn't guarantee that they were going to comply on following "necessarily" the torque specification for my brand with a torque wrench. On the other hand, Jose (Valderrama AC's owner) paid special attention to my requests and was very warm in the conversation. At one point, I remember he acknowledged that I can and should ask for the things I was asking since I'm paying for the installation. He assured me that the flares would be cut per my brand's specification and the technician he would send would carry the torque wrench to torque accordingly as well (25-30lb-ft, for my mini split). Very accommodating. Adan, the technician he sent was amazing as well. I won't go over details, but there were a few difficulties installing the indoor unit in the room selected. Adan went out on his way thinking outside the box to perform the installation. I was extremely satisfied with his solution. Really nice guy to talk to as well. Adan also pointed out that the copper line I got was wider than the one required (seller actually sent the wrong one). He explained that while he could work around that by adding more R410 (refrigerant) he didn't recommend it as it could strain the system more and would lead to failure. He strongly recommended the exchange to the correct copper line even though that meant another trip. I kept thinking that this is the kind of dishonesty some bad companies exploit. They would've ignored the problem, possibly notify me that they added refrigerant, charge me for it, and later receive a call for repair as the added load broke the system prematurely. I noticed that they are still a small company, and probably that's why I received the kind of service I got from them. I'm glad I called them, as I nearly didn't. If they don't drop the level of service they showed with this installation, I will call them for the maintenance and repair of my standard AC units. Based on my experience, you have a solid recommendation from me. read more
