Beth just recently did a family shoot for us. We have a family of 5 (3 young kids + 2 crazy dogs). We were super delayed in scheduled a fall shoot this year; yet Beth worked with our schedule to make sure that she could accommodate us in a time that worked best for our work schedules and around the kids' school. We arrived and she immediately remembered everything from my questionnaire that she asked us to fill out. She knew all of the kids names, interests, and personalities without looking at any notes. They immediately became comfortable with her and she had them smiling within seconds as we went into the first set of poses. We spent so much time in different settings and poses- both candid and portrait. She knew where to place us as it relates to the best light and most natural positions. She didn't mind our dogs being completely bananas the whole time and was super patient. Beth had all of our kids throughout the shoot with joyful smiles and just candid happiness. We received our photos several days later - all edited and when I say they are the BEST photos we have had taken by a family photographer in the ten years we have been doing this- I'm not exaggerating. The photos she produced are by far the best we have ever had done for our family. I cannot recommend her enough to other families in the area. She is absolutely fantastic. When I wanted to get maternity photos done it was no question I wanted to work with our longtime friend, Beth. I've seen so many gorgeous family photos and maternity shoots she'd done and knew they'd be great! We started chatting locations and she helped find a spot that was a little more out of the norm for a Chicago maternity shoot - I love LP but have so many photos there from our wedding I wanted something different this time around. We found the perfect spot - North Park Village Nature Center! Leading up to our session Beth gave great advice on outfits, colors, etc and gathered input from us to make sure she would capture what we want. Working with her was so fun and the results turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined! She made my husband and I feel at ease right away chatting with us and helping us find the best positions with gorgeous backdrops. As a new mom, there is enough to worry about within the first few weeks of bringing your baby home. I was anxious at the prospect of having to put on makeup and look presentable for a photoshoot, not to mention making sure this new human would perform for the photos we were hoping to get. Cue Beth Healy. The person and the photographer. Could she be a new mom coach, baby whisperer and photographer all in one?! Indeed, she is all of those things. Mom who's hair isn't dry shampoo-ed enough or in place? She fixed it. Mom who doesn't know up from down let alone what she wants for the photos? She's got it. Beth was a gem to work with! My fiancé and I were in search for a photographer that specialized in maternity photoshoots and when we came across Beth's work we knew we'd be in good hands. Her immediate and personal response to my query sealed the deal and made booking her an easy decision. So happy we found Beth! I honestly cannot say enough good things about her. Our son was born 3 weeks early so we were totally unprepared on finding a newborn photographer. I serendipitously found Beth's card in a children's store 9 days after he was born and she was able to work us in the next day for pictures. Not only did the pictures turn out AMAZING (and I am a tough grader on photography) - she was also incredible with our son. My husband and I have jokingly referred to her as the "Baby Whisperer" as she was able to get him totally calm and serene for the entire shoot. We wish she could come over in the middle of the night to work her magic! We also enjoyed just hanging out with her! Beth did a fabulous job with our newborn/family lifestyle photos. She came to our house which was really convenient and spent the time to look around and help us find the best spots for photos in terms of lighting. The pictures turned out absolutely beautiful and she was really able to capture several varieties of photos. We will cherish the pictures forever! She did an excellent job working with our toddler who is 21 months and was not very cooperative. She was patient with him and was able to get him to smile for some usable pictures. Beth is phenomenal to work with and I could not recommend her enough. We met Beth about 2 years ago and she has photographed my growing family a couple of times. The minute I met Beth, we were instant friends. She has this way of putting everyone around her at ease and you forget you are even meeting to take pictures. Couldn't be happier with Beth's services. She obviously knew what she was doing from the get go, so we let her take the reigns on the photo shoot however she always asked for our approval in every situation. If I had a few words to describe Beth it would be positive, energetic, and professional. Beth is simply the best there is! We were gifted a newborn photoshoot for 2019 Christmas when I was pregnant. I gave birth in May during COVID craziness. She was so flexible and was able to switch our newborn photoshoot to a 6 month one and we were able to get a beautiful fall background.
