Bethany Sports Cards Plus is a fantastic place. The owners are incredibly friendly and always so kind to my son (12) and daughter (8). My son loves collecting football cards and my daughter is big into Pokémon cards, and this shop has become one of our favorite stops. Their prices are very reasonable, which makes it easy to stop in and let the kids enjoy the hobby. I recently brought my son in after he got an excellent report card, and not only did they celebrate his accomplishment, they even gave him a small reward and encouraged him to keep up the good grades. That meant a lot to him. It's rare to find people who genuinely care about their customers the way they do. They've absolutely earned us as lifetime customers. I have come to Bethany Sports Cards Plus 2x now with my little nephew. It is a wonderful store and the man who works here is fab!! The first time we came my nephew bought a secret pack from the $5 world famous table. And he had so much fun in the car looking at everything he got. Inside he got all kinds of trading cards and other fun prizes. The most impressive to me was a $2 bill!! He talked all week about wanting to go back and the next week I got him up early and we headed down. When we got there they didn't have any world famous table packs. So my nephew bought a collection of cards from the shelf. Then!! The man who worked there was so nice and helped my nephew pick out some other things to create his own pack. This guy who works here is a total gem. I'm sure we will be down again this weekend. They also have sports jerseys and I'm sure I will buy myself an eagles jersey here before the fb season starts. read more

I wanted to share an experience my kids and I had recently at Bethany Cards. During our visit, my 8-year-old (along with a few other kids) was looking through some boxes of cards, as he's done before (we have spent hundreds of dollars here this summer). At one point, he stepped away to check something else out. That's when the owner (the son?) addressed me rather abruptly, asking, "Are you going to buy anything, or is your kid just going to take every card out?" I understand completely that it's important for kids to be respectful of store displays, and I immediately went over to help put the cards back and talk to my son about it. However, I was taken aback by the tone and decided to quietly say to just the owner, "I'm sorry, but I really didn't appreciate the way that was said." Unfortunately, the situation escalated from there. The owner became visibly upset, raised his voice, and said some hurtful things to both me and my son. It was a jarring and upsetting moment, especially in front of my children. I completely understand the need for rules in a store like this and my son should have immediately put them away (which we talked about after). But, I believe there are kinder, more constructive ways to handle these situations. Everyone has tough days, and maybe that was the case here. But it left a lasting impression, and sadly, I don't think we'll be returning. I'm sharing this not to shame anyone, but just to give a heads-up to other parents and maybe offer some perspective to the business as well. read more

This was a win for me. Glad I stopped in. The new owners are great. Father and son team. I was looking for vintage cards and found exactly that. New owners are nice and will sit and talk to you about sports but the football card boxes marked up over 55% is kinda outrageous. I get that you have to make money as a small business but that's robbery. No proof of authenticity for the signed jerseys hanging up. Single cards worth cents marked up to 5-15$. Everything is extremely marked up and over priced even for a small business but did say they will work with you if you buy multiple items of certain things. Better off ordering online read more

Went into this shop looking for some cool cards to bring home to me and my friends. As I was looking around I saw a nice card in the case. I asked to look at it he said yes. As I was looking at the card I saw it had lots of damage. So I nicely said I think I am going to pass and handed him the card nicely. So after the owner had the card he throw it all the way across his store. And after that I am never coming back and wouldn't recommend anyone to visit the store. read more

Owner was extremely rude, yelled at my nephew for not putting cards back in place (even though my dad was ensuring he was) and made my nephew cry. The owner seemed nice when I first went in, but apparently looking around the shop for 20 mins was too much for his blood pressure even after I bought $100 worth of product from his over priced store (I always like to support local card shops when possible). Before I left, he expressed his great displeasure and dismay that I didn't buy more and tried to guilt me into buying more. The cards are way over priced and the owner will get very nasty and defensive if you try to nicely negotiate. The 1 star reviews are warranted for this place. It's a tourist trap. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY AUTOGRAPHED ITEMS. After many trips to the store and having mostly good experiences we purchased a Derek Jeter autographed bat which was deemed not authentic by a grading service. I should have known when he told employee that there was an old Jeter authentication certificate laying around somewhere. We have literally spent thousands of dollars at this store. read more

wanted to buy a box of Pokemon cards for my nephew and since I was about 8 miles from the store, I called them up to check on availability. Yes they said they had the newest set box, but refused to tell me the price over the phone. If you want to know our prices you must be in person I was told. Strange. But they had the product, so I decided to make the drive. To my disgust they were asking $200 for the box, which has an MSRP of $90! No wonder they don't give prices over the phone, it seems they intend to cheat hapless grandparents and parents who want to buy a nice Pokemon gift for their grandchildren/children who don't know any better, or come in hoping to support a local business. But a local business should also support locals and not try to rip off families off at more than twice the price. This shop is shady and unethical. read more

Decided to check out the place for the first time and bought a box of 1990-91 Skybox NBA cards that was supposed to have a Shawn Kemp rookie. After going through the box, the entire box was missing every single rookie card that was supposed to still be in the box. They also have a Luka Doncic "autographed" frame for $250 but the signature has the number 37 in it while Luka's number is 77... not a place to go to if you want anything legitimate read more

The owner was extremely rude to me and my son. We have shopped there many times before and every time the owner has seemed hostile and unfriendly. My son was cussed out and yelled at because he was comparing the in-store prices to eBay ones. All of the products in the store are extremely overpriced and you are better off buying what you are looking for off of eBay. The store is a complete mess and highly unorganized, making it nearly impossible to find what you are looking for without sheer luck. Most of the autographs are obvious fakes and none provide any proof that they are real. Overall I would avoid this establishment at all costs and would not recommend it to anyone I know. If you are looking for an establishment to find sports cards, pokemon cards, or any other memorabilia this is not the place. read more

This owner is a crook. I got burned on a Tom Brady photo that was over $200. Couldn't tell it was fake until I got home and looked at it closer. The signature was traced in silver over a lithograph. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN! The only autographs to trust are certified by JSA or PSA/DNA where you can look up the code online to see if legit. I have spoken to many different people who got burned at this store. STAY AWAY! read more
