Dr. Compas is a magician. I first went with him for some lower backpain because I could not find a physical therapy provider whose schedule aligned with mine. ONE adjustment - ONE - and my pain was gone. I didn't know that was even possible. (Your results may, and will likely, vary.) I then kept coming to adjust other parts of my back and it has really helped keep my pain and discomfort manageable. I had some reservations about eeeing a chiropractor after I tweaked my back as I had had negative experiences in the past. Dr Compas was amazing. He quickly diagnosed what my issue was (a rib out of socket) and then spent about 5 minutes popping everything back into place. Some heat and electric therapy relaxed the muscles to prevent seizing for last 10 minutes. It is now an hour later and I am completely pain free. I am pleased to write this review on my experience yesterday (6/21/23) at Dr. Compas office. I found him after reading reviews online and was very impressed. I have insure but needed a referral in order to see him, however, I so much lower back pain the previous week that I said I can't wait for the approval and made an appointment to pay out of pocket! I arrived a few minutes early and Rachel and the massage therapist greeted me with a smile. Rachel checked me in and I had a seat. The office was very clean and orderly, and the music was nice and smooth. Dr. Compas was prompt and I was seen at my scheduled time...loved that! Once we got into the room he asked me questions and I must say he knows his stuff! He gave me an answer to an issue that I've had for years...I was very happy about that. I just left from my first visit and it went GREAT! When I arrived I was greeted by the front desk person. They were kind. I was seen by Dr. Compas after that. His office was clean and he was super nice and knowledgeable. I walked in slowly with a weird walk and unable to touch my toes. After Dr. Compas adjustments I was able to lift my legs higher, touch my toes and walked out better than when I arrived! I have already scheduled my next few appointments! Very disappointing/suspicious billing practices. Went in for an exam and adjustment one time. I asked what my total balance was and paid the $125 dollars on-site. Fully 7 months later, I get a text message telling me I have a $29 balance. Turns out this office tried to bill my insurance just for Dr Compas recommending an at-home stretch (was never told I or my insurance would be billed for this). I already paid for the exam and adjustment! Well this very special stretch recommendation apparently wasn't included in the $125 and wasn't covered by insurance. Their billing service provider was unhelpful and the office itself won't pick up their phone during normal business hours. I don't want a hit to my credit so I'm going to pay the $29, but I'm also filing a complaint with the DC Attorney General. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

As someone with frequent back pain from athletic abuse over the years, I don't have the best experience with chiropractors, but when I first saw Dr. Compas in Sept 2020, I didn't have much of a choice. My back had been out for 6 days and he was highly recommended online. Dr. Compas not only helped me out of my very locked up back that day, but has worked with and around my other existing injuries (2 knee surgeries) to support my back/body health for around 6 months.
