I can understand why this place has such high reviews. I came to get one of my pants retailored because the previous tailor had hemmed them too low and they were still too long for me, and a different pair of pants tailored to fit me better. Her prices were incredibly low! Both pants together (even with one being a full tailor and not just a hem) were cheaper than the first pair of pants just being hemmed at a shop in Ktown. She was so sweet and welcoming, so already I felt very happy to be there, but when I came to pick up my pants she was so accommodating because one of the pants were not done yet and she told me she would do them right then and there. I only waited about 15 min and she brought them out to me in my car. I've definitely found my new go-to spot for any alterations. Parking has also been super easy to find - I've been able to find meter parking directly outside her shop with no problems whatsoever! Incredibly disappointed with Bethy's unprofessionalism. I brought 4 items for Bethy to tailor. After I picked up the clothes, which were scattered around the front desk, I went home and noticed she forgot to hem one of my pants. I called to let her know and she told me she will hem it right when I arrive. But when I arrived, she told me that I will have to pay and then come back to pick it up because she claimed that she didn't forget to hem it. Photo's attached. Even if I had platform heels on, which no one would wear with these pants, they were still too long. How was she gaslighting me by telling me she hemmed them when they look like this? Lol After moments of arguing, she hemmed it on the spot, took 5 mins, and said it was free. I gave her the money anyway. Money is not an issue. Customer service is everything to me. Pricing - 5/5 I bought an evening gown for a black tie event and Bethy tailored the bodice and tapered the skirt of the dress to create a beautiful train all for THIRTY FIVE dollars. Please contrast this with places like David's Bridal, who would have charged me $70 for only tapering the skirt (not even adjusting the bodice). Store setting - 3/5 From the exterior, the store is unassuming and crowded with items, but don't let looks deceive you! I give it a 3/5 because in many other countries, the interior and clutter of the store is typical and even welcoming BUT in the US, the shop would be considered cluttered and dimly lit. Service - 4.5/5 Initially, Bethy did not have my dress ready by the agreed upon time and I had to go twice to the shop to get my dress. She ended up dropping off the dress to my address in LA and tried to give me a discount for the delay. I will say there was a slight language barrier, but Bethy was well able to address all my requests and needs. Skill - 5/5 The dress WOW-ed everyone at the event. Hi, I dropped off 6 items last week. She stated they would be ready Tues, 1/21/2025. I arrived Wed, after 1pm and my items were still not ready. I'm not happy with their service. I dropped off a cashmere sweater, which at drop off she stated she'd fix by hand then when I arrived she missed a hole and ran my sweater through the sewing machine. Overall I'm not happy with their service and will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have taken a few pieces to Bethys for minor alterations and they usually turn out fine. Not great, but fine for what you pay - her prices are very low. But then I decided to take a few curtain panels that I wanted to have taken up. I measured and pinned the panels very precisely so that they would fall exactly at the floor. They were expensive to have done - I think I paid 75 total for the 4 panels. When I got them home and hung them up, I was shocked to see that not only were they hemmed several inches too short, but that they weren't even the same length! Now I have curtain panels that look janky and uneven, and because they were sewed too short, can't be repaired. read more

I wanted to make an authentic-looking flight suit from the original Planet of the Apes. I brought in a white set of O.R. scrubs with a jacket and pants that were too long, too baggy, etc. The coolest thing was, the real flight suit has a DIAGONAL zipper. I was afraid to ask her if she could alter it to match. Bethy said "No Problem." Great tailoring skill. Great price. She's my tailor from here on. he's also really fun to joke around with. Fun lady. I just needed a dress hemmed a couple of inches and most places I called estimated it would take up to a week to finish, but Bethy said it would only take her day - and she wasn't lying! Went in today to get 3 pairs of Ben Davis pants altered to get a better fit. Originally wanted to get them one inch shortened but they suggested they taper them an inch as well so that they look better. I have nothing against the owner of this shop she is nice and always answers the phone. The problem is that she was making some skirts for me. I left her one of mine as a sample and they turned out really bad. They were all different sizes and lengths and that is after me calling her for over 4 months. At one point she couldn't find my skirt and the material I had selected so she asked me to select other ones so I did. And another month later I called and called and she would always tell me next week next week. I have lots of work that I need to get done and I was like but I have been waiting for over 5 months for my skirts and she finally had them done they were too big and I asked her if she could fix them and she said she would have to charge me an additional fee and I was like no. I'm not paying you anymore I have been waiting for a long time. I was going to just take them like that so I could take them to another tailor that I found but she refused to give them to me. So I left. This was the worst experience ever. If she doesn't have time to make something she shouldn't take the job because that makes her and her business look bad. read more
