5 Stars -- A Miracle Worker! I've been procrastinating leaving this review for a while, but Fredy deserves every word of it -- so here I am now finally writing it. I got married on June 14, 2025, and dreamed of having a Mexican-themed wedding with a custom handmade dress tailored in Mexico. I found the perfect dress at a store here in LA, but the sample was so tiny I couldn't even try it on. Still, the salesperson assured me they could order my size and have it ready before the wedding. A month later, I received the worst news -- the designer in Mexico was too overworked and couldn't make my dress. I was devastated. Determined to find a solution, I bought the tiny sample dress and searched for a tailor who could somehow make it fit me. That's when I found Fredy on Yelp. I wasn't sure what to expect, but from the moment I met him, I felt hopeful. He said he could do it but told me I needed to find matching fabric for the extra panels. On my very first search, I found the fabric and brought it straight to him. He took my measurements, I gave him my wedding date, and I left the dress in his hands. Not even a week later, Fredy called me -- the dress was ready for the first fitting! He had already added the panels. After the second fitting, I was beyond happy. My dress fit perfectly. The whole process took about a week and a half, and the price was far more affordable than I expected. Thanks to Fredy, I got to marry my charro in the dress of my dreams. He is incredibly experienced, skilled, and dedicated. His work deserves more appreciation, so if you visit him, please leave him a good tip -- he truly earns it. Thank you, Fredy, for everything. I still owe Fredy 15 bucks. I brought in four distinctly different assignments, and Fredy had novel ideas for all of them. 1. Simply stitch closed the bottom of a bag for my mom. No big deal, easy sewing machine stuff. 2. Patch up four holes in a deteriorating pair of 15-year-old shorts. Again, fairly standard fair. 3. Replace outright the zipper on a hoodie because the insertion pin on the original had fallen off. Other tailors declined to even take this job. 4. Fix the armpit restrictiveness on a jacket that otherwise fit perfectly but was for some reason designed for, I dunno, a T-rex? Fredy patched up the shorts ultra-thoroughly, not only put a new zipper on the sweatshirt but removed the original which a lot of alterations places won't do, and added an underarm contrast gusset on the jacket which now offers freedom of movement and adds a racing stripe that I feel is pretty sharp. He not only did all this for far less money than I would have been quoted elsewhere--assuming they'd even agree to do the work--he threw in my mom's bag for free. But be aware that, at present, he only accepts cash. Which is why I still owe him $15; I didn't have the full amount on me in dollars and he let me leave with my clothes anyway. read more

He gave me a great price to hem 6 pair of jeans. And I didn't have to make an appointment and was able to see him right away. I was able to pick up all my 6 jeans in 2 days. The quality of work and matching stitches were perefect. He was accommodating, professional and followed up on his promises of the price he quoted me and the pick up days. I went in at 6:45 thinking they closed at 8, but the sign I saw as I entered said it closed at 7. I met the man Fredy himself, and though I was stopping in just before they closed, he was very welcoming and friendly. I asked if he could shorten a pair of cargo pants that I got in Japan before Friday (it was Monday) and he said he'd have em done on Wednesday. He called me Tuesday at noon and told me my pants were all finished! Only $20 for me, which was a great deal in my opinion. Especially in LA! So happy he some of my favorite pants fit even better. TLDR: Fredy is awesome, take your stuff to him! I had to get repairs done on a couple things as well as wanted to get something very custom made. I went to Fredy's on a recommendation from a friend and I was so glad I went to him! Fredy clearly demonstrated his knowledge and passion for his craft! Let me tell you about a dilemma I have been having. I have this pair of jeans that I love dearly and unfortunately after I lost a bit of weight, they stopped fitting me and gosh darn I was extremely upset. I tried DIY fixes to get the jeans to fit me, but they looked super unflattering. So I gave in and Yelped this place, and oh my lord I'm so glad I did because my jeans fit so perfect now and I didn't have to pay an arm and leg to get the waist taken in. Fredy took off a whole 3 inches from the waist and you literally can't tell where he dissected the jeans. I actually had to ask him. He was an absolute sweetheart and absolutely passionate about his craft, he lit up showing me his latest projects. With everything going on, he fixed up my jeans in an hour and I'm so excited to start rocking my jeans without worrying about them falling off my body.
