Thrift Stop #2 ATX Thrift Store is one of my favorite thrift stores. It's well-organized, spacious and easy to move around. It is absolutely fun to shop at this store. They have unique pieces, ones you can envision wearing or putting in your home. At ATX Thrift store the thrill of the hunt is still alive and bubbling in your shopping veins. Smile. The selection of items rotates frequently with clothing, shoes, accessories, and goods that range from everyday basics to those one of kind items. You can find unique antique furniture like a victrola, a retro jacket, antique costume jewelry or a quirky décor piece. It is so much fun thrifting here. The little ladies that manage this store are so super sweet. I was trying to getting to a door that was locked. The store sales representative came outside to get me and take me through the correct door. I guess I did not realize that door was no longer open. These ladies are kind and will go out their way to help you. The prices of the pieces at ATX Thrift are reasonable and very affordable. It is nothing like going to a thrift store and finding item and then realizing it is way overpriced. As many times as I have visited ATX Thrift, I can honestly say their prices are consistently fair. While I did not find my pink depression glass, I did have fun shopping.

Clean and organized. Went here to look for magazines for a vision board party. It was fun to browse. Parking is limited.

Always a large selection of housewares.

Better ATX reopened their new space last fall and the new THRIFT HOUSE is lovely. Bright and spacious with lots of lovely steals and deals. I found a 100% silk reversable plaid blazer last week for just $18! Lots of items still have the tags. They have tons of art, housewares, clothing, and furniture. I bring my donations here and always look for the latest treasures. They post new deals every Tuesday on their SM. This store is an Austin Gem, and my money goes to a great cause - clothing local kiddos for school and giving toys to kids in the Dell Children's. Win-Win!

Every Section is clearly labeled.."Music CDs $.50 each"

Stepping through the door is like visiting a hoarder's house who made a feeble attempt in trying to create a thrift store. There's a lot of clothes here and they seem to be in line with what Goodwill would price them at. This is a one to two star business, but I'll add a star since they do make an effort to help the homeless. You're more likely to walk out of here empty-handed then to find some small treasure here. There's enough parking out front and you can grab a free condom on your way out.

Today I'm looking for curtains for a friend... exactly the kind that hide light and sound. So, you understand something very durable. Guess what??? I found them here. Bee and willow curtains panels that cost normally $49 and upwards for a panel. Today I found two curtain panels in the color I needed for just $7 and when I rung out they were half off. Thank God for favor! I have it where ever I go and yes I had alittle shout in the store... two panels for $7! You can't loose. I left super excited to wash and iron the curtains and on to putting them up. They look wonderful and my friend was finally sold in me getting the job done for less than a reasonable price. I don't know what you are looking for but this is a cool spot to thrift!!

There are some things the store does very well, and some areas that are clearly struggling. First, the space is much larger than the previous location. There is plenty of room for merchandise, and they seem to have many kind volunteers working there. The furniture and home goods section is organized fairly well. However, the shelves are extremely packed with merchandise, which may be related to the pricing. Many items feel overpriced for a community thrift store, which likely slows down how quickly things move off the shelves. The layout is also a bit confusing. It almost feels like two completely separate stores. Furniture and home goods are on one side, while clothing is in a different area. What makes it more unusual is that you cannot pay for clothing on the home goods side, or home goods on the clothing side. You also have to go outside to enter each section. It seems like this setup requires twice as many volunteers and makes the shopping experience less convenient. The pricing on the clothing side is actually very good, but the organization is quite poor. I found high-end men's shirts, such as Brooks Brothers, mixed in with women's clothing. There were several other similar examples of items being misplaced, which made browsing more difficult. I have visited multiple times before writing this review because I hoped that, after the expansion, the shopping experience would improve. Unfortunately, the store actually felt more organized in its old location than it does now.

That in itself told me that one hand knows what the other is doing, and it's obviously really organized. Second, when we went in the thrift store side, it smelled clean. On that side, they were super nice too, and my eBay purchase pick up was super smooth. Purchases that you make their go toward providing food for people who need services from the food pantry. Even the eBay purchases go toward that. I feel better about a purchase if something good comes out of it for somebody else too. That's important to me and my family. I highly recommend this essential part of the community!

As the mother of a rescue dog who was going to be euthanized, I am 100% behind everything this thrift store stands for. In fact, every 6 months when I overhaul my closet, I donate A LOT of clothing, shoes, and accessories to the store in support of the cause. I also like to swing by as part of my North Loop jaunt (every few months, hit up North Loop stores and pubs---to include APA!) to make purchases. Found quite a few cute things here over the years not only for myself but friends and family. They've got an amazing selection of items and each time I pop in they seem to have loads more. My collection has dwindled over the years through breakage. So I was thrifting looking for pink depression glass. The Burnet Road location is large, well organized with two-stories of items. It is filled with just about anything that you can imagine. Clothing...they have it! Shoes...they have it! Vintage items...they have it! Kitchen and house wears...they have it! Unfortunately, no pink depression glass. I will definitely return to thrift here due to their large selection of things. In addition, their prices are very reasonable. First stop Austin Pets Alive! - Burnet. I learned that all net sale proceeds go directly to support Austin Pets Alive!'s lifesaving programs for animals most at risk. Their clear mission is saving animals' lives, which is so heartwarming. According to staff, Austin Pets Alive! is known for pioneering innovative programs that help keep pets out of euthanasia and place them into loving homes. The Burnet Road location plays a critical role in sustaining those efforts by serving as a critical funding source for the organization's work across Central Texas.

The worst part was how rude their customer service is. My 2.5 year old is deaf/hard of hearing and took off her hearing aid in the store. My husband put it in what he thought was our cart. When we realized he had misplaced her hearing aid, I went back inside to look for it. I asked one of the stockers to help and they ignored me. I then went to the front to ask for help and was told that I would need to look in the carts myself. I told the lady that my daughter needs the hearing aid to hear and they are very expensive but she blew me off again and told me to look myself. I then told her I had spent $60 in the store and that they were $12,000 and asked if she would please help me. She told me " not with that attitude I can't." She then forced me to take a breath and continued to berate me about my attitude after she had refused to help me. She finally did make an announcement and someone came forward with the hearing aid. I'll never go back to this store and would never recommend it to anyone.

As one of yelper has already pointed out, there's usually some derelict with his hand out at the front door. About 75% of the store is given over to clothing with everything else around the perimeter. The prices here seem pretty much in line with your average Goodwill, although some seem higher. They do have a lot of kids toys and furniture. This business is primarily geared towards clothing, and this is a cash operation only, but they do have an ATM, which will happily charge you a fee.
