The only thing that will catch your attention when driving by is the roadside banner mentioning "Open Fridays from 4pm-8pm" -rather poorly designed sign because for years I thought this place was open ONLY Fridays 4-8pm. Today was Friday and I had free time, so I thought I would stop in. When I approached the door, I could see that they are open daytime hours, as well. But without the banner, I never ever would have noticed this place. Anyhow, I ordered Tom's Spicy Burger and a side of onion rings. Delicious burger but neither spicy nor a "Better Burger" -especially for the price. See other reviews for burger description. Kroger's "Private Selection" frozen burger patties taste better and the package of six patties is about the same price as Tom's Spicy. Still, it wasn't bad but it was definitely more pricey than spicy. The onion rings were delicious. I would strongly recommend them as I do prefer battered rather than breaded.They were perfectly fried, great temperature, and they were the highlight of the meal. The fried pickles appetizer was a total waste of $8. Always had deep-fried battered pickle chips at other places. Here? They take a dill pickle spear and slice it long-ways before battering the thin strips and frying. I truly thought they accidentally brought me fried string beans or something. The ONLY detectable flavor was the batter and the ranch dip with the faintest, barely existent hint of dill. I might drop in another time but after a nearly $30 bill for the three items and a drink just for myself, there are other places with a better value. The gravy is made using the bacon dripping. It is silky and has good pork flavor, but it desperately needed some salt. The biscuits are brought in fresh every day. They are a bit dense and not super fluffy, but they offer good texture with the gravy. My fiancé had the Cheeseburger and fries. This is served with a 1/3 pound burger, American cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. The burger was seasoned well, was juicy, and had a good crust. The cheese was melted correctly, the bun is toasted, and the veggies were fresh. Her fries were cooked almost to a great crisp, but they required salt. I tried the Tom's Spicy Burger and fries. This is served with two 1/3 pound patties, grilled onions, jalapeños, special sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pepper jack cheese. The bun was toasted well, the burgers were seasoned, crusted, juicy and cooked perfectly. The cheese was melted and the veggies were fresh. The special sauce did not have a lot of flavor. It tasted like a spicy mayo. The spiciness could be turned up just a bit and there needs to be a little more sauce on the burger. Better Burgers and More serves breakfast all day, with several options and lunch entrées consisting of burgers and sandwiches. They also have daily specials. The service is great. Today I had a wonderful lunch at Better Burgers and More (952 Red House Rd in Richmond). Their motto says, 'Best Burgers in Town' and they definitely did not disappoint! I had the Tom's Spicy Burger which is a 2/3 pound double burger served with grilled onions, jalapeños, special sauce, lettuce, tomato and pepper jack cheese. This was one of the best burgers that I have had in a very long time! The tomato was ripe and fresh (not one of those hot house tomatoes with no flavor). Jalapenos and onions were grilled to perfection and added a welcomes spice. My wife had the BLT and loved it! We both ordered our crinkle cit French fries extra crispy and they were delicious. If you visit on a Friday, their hand breaded crunchy catfish is ways a great selection! Daily specials Monday- Thursday. The burgers were not better- cheap meat and possibly had filler bread/ bread crumbs in it? I'm not sure- but the meat was terrible. Needs flavor for sure and the texture was off. Do yourself a favor and just make your own. 90/10 sirloin makes a decent burger and is easy to get your hands on- throw a little seasoned salt and grill. However, the gravy is legit. Went here because my regular breakfast place is closed on Mondays. At first blush this is a very unassuming place hidden away in a small strip place. A mush mash of tables and chairs with a little old man that slowly makes his way from table to table, taking and delivering orders, never rushing. But, the place was full at 9:30 in the morning. The kind of place where, if the customer wants coffee they feel free to just get up and get it. Fully dining room, what's that tell you?
