In looking for a Sports Medicine Chiropractor in the area- I happened upon this place. Yelp reviews were positive based on the experiences too! I was very familiar with chiropractic as my Sister worked for a Chiropractor in Southern California & my daughter was treated often by a Chiropractor in Northern California @ the gym she attended. It was a "sure sign" with what my daughter was experiencing: it was time to get back into some type of treatment. My daughter is a competitive Level 10 Gymnasts & spends hours in the gym. For the past several months, she'd been dealing with some back pain issues. Believe a pinched nerve?! I'd done some prior research & finally decided to give this place a deeper look. Called and spoke with Clara whom was very pleasant in informing me of their appointment process: what it all entailed & their cancellation policies. She was able to send me the paperwork via email to fill out and sign prior to our visit. Also, asked about insurance coverage -they do accept our carrier. Our first appointment we made last week on August 2nd. Met with Dr. Bates & addressed additional information on what my daughter was battling with her chronic back pain. Professional & Patient questions that were taken and noted. During that visit Dr. Bates discovered she has a slight form of Scoliosis. First adjustment went well. That relieved many issues my daughter was having. Dr. Bates recommended X-rays & suggested a follow up Friday the 4th. That treatment involved warm compression & electric stimulation. That was approximately a 10 minute process followed by a mild massage with menthol cream & another adjustment. Unfortunately, the X-rays hadn't arrived to be viewed. We will continue therapy on an as needed bases which will work with our schedule on Wednesdays. No added pressures. With our Co-pay through insurance, it's still pricier than what others may offer in the area. However, we were in need of a Certified Sports Medicine Chiropractor. These professionals specialize in sports injuries and physical fitness that extends beyond spinal adjustments to include direct treatment of muscles, joints and connective tissue. Sports medicine focuses on the total wellness & optimal functioning , not just reducing pain- HUGE difference! My daughter is feeling much better and hasn't complained of any back issues since her first two sessions. Very positive results! On the plus for my gymnast ; the office offers many fun things for every client . As you walk to the front desk after treatment: there is a wall hanging cork board that has some appeal. Answer the amusing questionnaire. Special offers & drawings too! Inquire about them! Who wouldn't want a free massage! So far we've been pleased with Dr. Bates. Dr. Curtis is phenomenal! He is literally a miracle worker. I had been to an ankle and foot specialist, and an orthopedic surgeon. I was in constant pain with a ligament injury, post tib-tendinitis, bone swelling, and an apparent flat foot. He treated my whole body instead of just one small area of my foot. He adjusted my misaligned hips, and my foot, retrained the pain neural pathways in my brain to stop misfiring. Went here 2 years ago after my car accident got a lot of work done months of sessions and messages sessions with amber as well as bought lots of equipment from them. When planning this out my chiropractor told me my bill would be discounted (typical in insurance claims) well fast forward to the settlement now dr bates wont discount my bill after saying they would. So only go here if you like being lied to and scammed.so to say the least this is the worst practice in Arizona and all Brennan wants is your money and your health is his last concern. read more

Dr. Spencer has helped my back drastically. I spent 8 months with major sharp pains that left me unable to walk some days. Within just a few minutes of talking with Dr. Spencer about my back issues he was confident he could fix it. I've gone to 4 sessions so far and each session provides major relief. First time going to Dr Bates today and I am VERY PLEASED! He took the time to get to know me and my family and ask me questions about my body and my lifestyle and my overall health. He didn't just slam me on a table with ten other patients and go down the line adjusting. He was very personal and caring and I already referred my husband to come in and see him too! It's been a few weeks since I have been in but I feel inclined to write a review. I walked in to Better Chiropractic after I threw my back out a few weeks prior. At one point I could barely get out of bed and stand up, but after getting adjusted the first time at Better Chiropractic I was able to walk out of there standing straight instead of hunched over. I absolutely LOVE the treatment I receive at this office. Dr. Bates is very kind and does amazing work. I've been to MANY chiropractors over the years for my back and neck pain, and he is by far the best. It is definitely a full service office. Check in is easy and you list all your symptoms using an iPad app built for chiros. It's very simple. When I go in for my adjustments, I am initially treated to a TENS session (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) along with a heating pad for about 15 minutes. This is usually the best part of my day! Then he takes the time to rub my back and loosen up my muscles even more and applies some pain relieving cream (like Bengay but better) all over. Then comes the adjustment. Due to my Myofascial Pain Syndrome, I generally have really tight muscles and a lot of chiros have not been successful at adjusting every area that needs it. However, Dr. Bates gets everything about 99% of the time, which I love. They also have in office massage therapists which are good. I have had one massage and it was ok. I've had better and worse. I'm spoiled in this regard as I have a friend who does it and I get 3 hours massages on a regular basis, so I don't really go here for this. However, it's nice to know it's available when my friend isn't, and for the price, you can't beat it. I want to say it's an extra $35 if you get an adjustment for an hour, so definitely worth it. read more

After my back went out I chose this business because of other reviews on Yelp and it was close to my home. I was able to get in the same day I called which was amazing as I was really hurting. The staff was friendly when I called and during the check in/new patient process. I really like that they use text reminders and seem up to date technology wise. The Dr. evaluated my needs and was caring and professional. After my first initial adjustment I felt worlds better! It was nice to hear that my action plan for rehabilitation was no more than 6-8 visits total. As we progressed I visited around 7 or 8 times and feel much better. He assessed my symptoms and let me know how long my treatment plan would be. I liked that he didn't try to get me to come in 100 times. I went in after having years of pain, and on my second wave of 8+ weeks of physical therapy treatment that was just not helping.
