I recently purchased a home that was a foreclosure. It sat empty for 7 months before I was finally able to close and then move into it. With VERY large pine trees throughout the property and probably 50 ant piles in the yard I was quite afraid of the cobwebs/filth that was going to be in the home. Instead of tackling cleaning it myself I hired Better Choice Cleaning. Let me tell you - it was the BEST money spent. I didn't have a chance to look at it before the movers showed up and when I did SURPRISE the house was very clean. I mean NO COBWEBS that I could see. I was extremely scared to even open the cupboards.....NOT knowing what I was walking into. Well, they were clean, including the drawers. Window sills were clean and all in all the entire house was perfect. It didn't "smell" clean but knowing it was an older home I didn't expect it. So, with them doing such a good job on my new home I hired them to clean the home I moved out of. All I can tell you is that because I was in short order to get moved out that I had to leave some stuff behind (rugs, things under kitchen cabinet, etc). I asked the new owners of the house and they didn't notice anything. Good thing too - cause it was UGLY when I closed the doors. These guys went above and beyond. The apartment was an absolute wreck and I never thought I would show up at the end of the cleaning and find it in the pristine condition it was. We had this company come about a month ago for a "deep cleaning", they were so-so, there were clearly areas that they brushed over (bathroom vanity, some areas of hardwood floor). They had 1 "mop" that they must have used for our travertine tile bathrooms and all of our hardwood floors (3bdr, 3bath, 2500 sq foot house)....so they basically dragged the same dirt everywhere. Just had them come back today to give it another chance and they were absolutely awful. 2 females came into the house, barley said hello. I asked them to take their shoes off and they refused; they said they called their boss (no phone call ever made) and he agreed that they don't have to take off their shoes. When I asked them if they clean their own house with their shoes on, they said "of course". They threatened to leave if I made them take their shoes off, they explained that they were uninsured and if they got injured they would be in trouble. Will never, ever use this company again. Their supplies and cleaners were in poor condition and low grade quality. Be wise and steer clear of this company for your house cleaning. I should have just had them leave, but sadly I have no time to clean my place and have guests coming in from out of town...then again, I really doubt my place will be much cleaner since they are dragging dirt around the entire house with their shoes on. read more

Very impressed with BC Cleaning. The crew showed up a few minutes early to get everything unloaded and prepped before cleaning. Rolando, the crew manager was very professional and friendly. Rolando and a tech took turns cleaning. Rolando even went over the bottom stairs twice as he noticed it was a high traffic area. Our carpet looks fantastic. I hired Better Choice Cleaning to steam clean my sofa. There were no issues, a few small spots...but mainly just wanted a refresh after 2 moves, pets, etc. The crew they sent (led by Enrique) were awesome - called ahead, were punctual and professional, and worked quickly and thoroughly. They even took a few extra minutes to steam the carpet right around the sofa. Will definitely be calling these guys again when the need arises. read more

Rolando #2 and his helper are cleaning my windows inside and out today. He is a real perfectionist. Blotches on my laundry room window left by messy painters really bothered me. I've been using Yelp for years but have never left a review! This required a review... After sending out an email to three different companies I finally ended up going with BCC for my upholstery cleaning. One company told me that it wouldn't be possible to clean my couches due to the wood varnish possibly "bleeding" onto the fabric, and the other company gave me a quote of almost twice what I paid Better Choice WITHOUT having seen the pictures of my couches. Regardless, I am glad I went with BCC. It was very easy to get a quote, get my questions answered, and schedule an appointment all through email. They showed up well within the time frame they said and were in and out within an hour and a half. The difference in my couches is amazing! They were pretty old and had never been professionally cleaned, but the BCC employees still did an awesome job. I would definitely recommend BCC and plan on using this company for any future jobs! read more

We live in a 4 story single family in the heights and these guys made it happen floor to floor and dealing with the ridiculous amount of stairs. We moved back to Houston into a home that was less than move in ready! I checked out Yelp to find the best rated cleaning services in my area. There are only two, BCC & another that wouldn't come out to where we are. I talked to Rolando who gave me what I thought was a high estimate but I went with it because I am very pregnant & couldn't clean this house & unpack in a timely manner! He told me that another Rolando and another girl would be here the next day. I received a call from Rolando explaining he would be a few minutes late, much appreciated & expected due to the traffic in Houston! A lady showed up on my door & dropped her stuff off on my porch, which fell & hit the door, thinking there was someone there I opened the door to a mop & broom. She then carried the rest of her stuff to the door, I let her in & I introduced myself. She did not introduce herself, I didn't like that, I had to ask her what her name was! Very rude. I started her in the master bath, then Rolando came to scrub floors, he did a great job! He was also very personable & professional. I did not like that they spoke Spanish, when they could both speak English, because I have no idea what these people are saying in my home with my child. Then he left saying she, Marta, I believe, would finish. I will say she did a few things that I did not ask for, which is always appreciated, but as this has been about 10 days ago, I have been seeing MANY things she didn't bother with! The tub had gunk around the drain, which came up for me in about 2 minutes, the door tops, light switches & the top of the tile in the shower is filthy! I saw this 3 days later when installing a shower head. I also asked her to do the walls in the water closet (the room where only the toilet is?), she only did one wall. Behind the frig was not vacuumed, which Rolando said Marta would do when she got to the kitchen. The door tops & light switches are second nature to me, I have cleaned houses before but thankfully I don't have to work now, but I have certain expectations. I would use BCC again, and did share my experience with the owner. read more

Better Choice did a move out cleaning for my 1BR apartment a couple of years ago and then I called them again recently to move out clean a bigger 2BR. Both times I have received my full security deposit back from the landlord and I am very happy with the work done by the people sent out. They are thorough and do a much better job than I would have been able to. I don't think they are necessarily the cheapest but I haven't shopped around recently and they are well worth the money. I would definitely call them for any future move out cleans! read more

I had a white rug that was about 7'x10' and had it cleaned professionally by a company before I took it to Better Choice Cleaning...I wish I would have taken it to BC Cleaning at the beginning, because Rolando (the owner) was very thorough with the clean. I was worried the smell from my dogs accidents would not come out (cause the previous company didn't get them out)...but Rolando spent more time than expected to help me out and was very professional about. We had very bad experience. They did not clean the toilet properly. We found some food particles on the carpet after they vacuumed it. The price was exhorbitant and service was really poor. The crew was not even ready to clean the gas cooktop. Will never call them again. read more

I had scheduled them for 9am. When they didn't show, I called and left a message (there was no answer) to let me know if they were coming. I didn't get a callback until two hours later. They told me that their father was in my driveway waiting for me! By that time, I was already gone. I hate to write bad reviews but Better Choice left me no other choice. I arranged for them to clean our rental property which is in Houston area and we live in Austin now. We agreed what to be done, Rolando was very polite and accommodating on the phone. I could not be present on the day of the cleaning since we live 3 hours away, so I was very excited to look at the house on the weekend right after cleaning. What a disappointment it was to come inside and see all the dirt which was left by the tenants. Yes, it seems that sinks, bathtubs (which were actually left not in a bad condition at all by tenants), windows were cleaned, but my main concerns, of which I had informed Rolando, included the walls, light switchers and doors. In addition, shelves in the closets, pantry and laundry room were not wiped, floors also did not look spick and span. The house was completely EMPTY and unoccupied for the cleaning crew, so there were no major appliances or furniture to clean. I was informed that spots on the walls and baseboards would be taken care of. Well, they were not. I am a reasonable person and understand that in a 3 bedroom house you can miss a couple of spots here and there but they ALL were missed. The house did not have that clean and fresh feeling you anticipate after such service. It seems to me Better Choice Crew was thinking that their job would not be checked since the person who ordered it lives in another city. I emailed Rolando saying that it was not acceptable. He apologized and asked to give him a chance to correct the situation. Of course, after paying $215, I was eager to give him that chance. The very next weekend after the second cleaning we came to the house to prepare it for the tenants who would soon occupy it and I did not see any difference. Only a couple of light switches were wiped, but walls and baseboards were in the same dirty condition. So I had to clean the walls and baseboards myself, I did not have to use anything fancy just soap, water, sponge and bit of elbow grease and everything came off. I am not a confrontational person and not going to make a big fuss with Rolando. After doing it myself, I texted him that his service was unacceptable again but there was no response. So, dear fellow yelpers, if you are looking for a cleaning service I would not recommend this company for their VERY low cleaning standards, lack of attention to details and untrustworthiness. There must be some BETTER choices out there or save your hard earned $215 bucks and use THE BEST choice - do it yourself! read more

I called this company at 8:15 a.m. and I think I woke the person up... they said "hello" and not Better Choice Cleaning, so I had no idea if I even called the correct number. Turns out I was speaking with Rolando. It took several minutes for me to communicate to him that I couldn't speak spanish and he needed to speak english. Against my gut feeling, I made an appointment for him to come out and give me a price on cleaning my large home. We set it for noon that day. At 12:30 p.m. I finally had to leave my home without him showing up. He then called me at 12:45 and said he was outside my door. I told him he lost my business since he couldn't be on time! He said "no problem!" Really? Losing business is "no problem"???? Good for him... apparently he doesn't need my business anyway! read more

Called these guys when my dog knocked a can of paint over on my carpet. They were at my place in 30 minutes and worked hard to clean up a large amount of paint. As a bonus they cleaned the carpet on my stairs for no extra charge. I hope I don't need carpet cleaning anytime soon, but if I do I will be sure to call Better Choice again read more

This is the first time in my life to right a review. I am 100% happy with the service I got from Better Choice Cleaning. I had remolded my kitchen and bathroom and my house was filthy and full of dust. I had talked to the owner and explained I wanted a top to bottom cleaning. He informed me that all I needed to do was inform the cleaner if something was not done the way I wanted. I can honestly say that my house was the best it has been in years.
