KUDOS to Better Health Pharmacy! They are providing FREE MEDICATION TO ALL! This pharmacy helps cut the co-pay on my uncle's medication by the THOUSANDS- TREMENDOUS HELP!! He's taking a lot of medicines for atrial fibrillation congestive heart failure and severe emphysema. They are doing a wonderful job, helping a lot of people who CANNOT afford to pay the high cost of medicines. We're really grateful to the 2 pharmacists (one of them s Mailan) and all the volunteers who work here. They are very prompt in calling us and notifying us when the medications are ready. They are devoted, kind courteous and helpful. Without a doubt, this is the most well-run and efficient pharmacy I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Courteous, knowledgeable and kind-hearted. The "regular" retail pharmacies could learn a lot from these folks. You truly feel cared for by these lovely people. Most of us want and need help from our pharmacist (mostly because we can't get through to a doctor most of the time), however we are often "let down" by pharmacists at the "usual" locations (not mentioning names). Used this pharmacy one time - it's just as described - no insurance required. You need a valid ID and a valid prescription. The reason I haven't gone back for refills is because they ran out of my pills for the last two months. I felt I needed to let others know that this place does NOT always have what you need. So have a backup plan! The pills are donated from manufacturers and other reputable companies before they expire. So the amount of pills on hand varies. I totally appreciate that they have medicine for me but you must have a plan for when they are out of stock. Those ladies are extremely friendly and helpful. If they had my pills in stock, I know they'd fill my RX. I'm definitely a fan. It's worth trying out. :-) read more

What a godsend this place is. I have been lucky and have not needed a lot of meds, but am having to take more now. One case - a while back - required 90 days of a drug that even with the generic and a discount was still over $100. I went home in tears, but then heard about Better Health Pharmacy from a friend. It is true about not always having what you need - either the drug itself or the full amount, as they are dependent on donations from hospitals, companies, etc. - but they will fill what they have and notify you for the rest when more items come in. Will even mail refills. IAll you need is ID - living in Santa Clara County - and a prescription from our doctor. Wonderful, helpful people at the site as well. I can not thank Better Health Pharmacy enough. Our insurance had lapsed and my husband is on a lot of very expensive medicine for Gout and other things. When I went to our regular pharmacy and they told me how expensive it was I felt hopeless. And then she told me about Better Health Medicine. Not only did they have all my husbands medicine but it was FREE! Yes, FREE! I couldn't believe it. They get medicine donated from hospitals and other places. If you have a valid prescription and they have it in stock it's yours for FREE! Now they can not guarantee your medicine will always be there due to the fact that it is from donations, but you can get it if they have it. No narcotics. It's just a breath of fresh air. My Friend want through a heart attack last month and he started taking meds that cost more than a $100. Originally he ask his Family MD to send the meds to Target because they have a special program of $5 for 30 pills for most meds. But when he came to pick it up the price was high. His insurance does not cover meds and the deductible is $2,500. The limited staff in Santa Clara Better health pharmacy helped him transfer his meds and refiles from Target pharmacy. He had to pay nothing only show his ID. There are two drawbacks: One their Meds are limited and based on donation so you may not receive the full amount of pills. The second is that you have to wait from 30 min to one hour depending on the number of people waiting in line. I would like to say that the limited staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. My 80-year-old father is on a fixed income and has medical insurance, which includes prescription drugs. He takes two heart medications on a regular basis. One of these medications costs $100 a month, but he also has a $1,000 deductible. The costs for these medications are more than he can afford, so usually I pay for his prescriptions. One night while watching the news, I heard about Better Health Pharmacy and decided to try it. I went an hour before opening, expecting a long line, but there wasn't one. One of the pharmacists, Mailan, saw me waiting. She filled my father's prescription a half hour before opening, so I wouldn't have to wait. Now that's great customer service! Every time I visit, Mailan, recognizes me, and is kind and accommodating. All the pharmacists are friendly and helpful. Tonight I picked up one of my father's medications and Mailan filled both of his medications, so I won't have to come back in a couple of weeks to get the second medication filled. Outstanding service! It is true that this pharmacy does not always have some medications in stock, so it is wise to get two prescriptions from the doctor. I would recommend calling them ahead to make sure they have what you need before going to the pharmacy. Linh was very helpful and professional and understanding. Better Health Pharmacy has been a real blessing for both me and my wife. As a retired couple and not yet eligible for medicare our pharmacy costs are not manageable with our health plans high deductible. Better Health Pharmacy is amazing. Medications that are available are Free, yes free. The staff is just incredible and very customer service oriented. We have rarely had to wait more than just a few minutes.
