After a few tries I was resigned to wait 3 weeks for help. After two frustrating days I decided to try again and I found Pacific Hearing Service in Menlo Park. No scheduling problem here as they have a team of Audiologists in the office. I was able to get same day service. I walked in at 4:30 and met Ling Zhong. She took a look in my ear and confirmed it was ear wax and nothing worst causing my discomfort. After a few rounds with the Earigator my ear was cleared and I walked out a happy camper at 5:15. I couldn't hear out of my left ear. It was horrible! So that night I searched on yelp and found the most amazing hearing clinic. I called the next morning right when they opened and the receptionist was the nicest person and got me an appointment the very same day. Dr. Ashley was the doctor that took care of me. She's absolutely amazing. She was very thorough and explained to me everything she was doing. She definitely spent over an hour with me irrigating both my ears and micro suction. I'm so happy she was able to get all that compacted wax out of both my ears. I can hear again!! I'll definitely be back to have my ears cleaned on a regular basis.

I finally left a message that I need to go to Costco for a hearing test, since I couldn't get hold of anyone by phone. someone finally called me back. I would leave no star if I could. The hearing center in Homestead Kaiser is nice. I called and got an appointment right away because I lost my hearing aid. I have to drive all the way to Santa Clara Kaiser to get a hearing test since the hearing center in Kaiser Redwood City no one answers phone at all.

I got the hearing aids in April 2023 and had to visit this Kaiser about 8 times to fix the hearing aids. Good thing is that doctor extended my warranty. Bad thing is that I had a few beautiful days a where my hearing aids worked and I could hear and then one or the other would malfunction for months. So frustrating. It was sent back to manufacturer twice. When I got them back, I didn't have tuning appts - I just picked them up and had to come back to adjust the volume. Didn't get a call until the next day and we agreed on a day 2 weeks out. Then I get a call today saying the business name has changed to San Francisco something and we had 2 no shows so they sent the hearing aids back and they no longer accept her insurance anymore. Ummm....what?? 1st off I called to reschedule... He argued that I didn't call... Really genius?? Then how did I get the other appointment?? And said if I called on Monday there was none there to answer the call, just the doctor. It's not my fault he wasn't there to do his job and it shouldn't have counted as a no show if I informed them earlier. Then says we no showed 3 days ago when I had it down for next week and didn't get any reminders. But the part that really gets me pissed is the fact he said they sent them back. I'm like, already? After 3 days? He said, in a rude manner, I don't know when they sent them but they did and now you have to go somewhere else. I have worked in the medical field at private practices for many years and this is not how you do business. The very first impression she gave was indifference followed by a hacking cough she tried to suppress (not wearing a mask). She walked in from the back room (of an already small office lobby) briefly looked at me, then gave me papers to fill out and started to turn. I asked if the pens were clean since there were no labeled pens and only 2 or 3 in the pen hold can. She said yeah as she was turning away. I forgot my mask and went back out to the car to get it, since they didn't have any available (not sure if a hearing test facility qualifies as a medical facility under the Santa Clara County Health dept.). After coming back in and turning in the form she again only looked at me when getting the forms once, and not again until my misunderstanding of what she said. Ironically I am at a hearing test place and heard her say is that 'butt' for your email; not the best handwriting. Corrected her, but was already agitated by the lack of a welcome and the feeling of indifference (with an extra dose of coughing), and then said why would you say that? Say "butt"? I wait a few seconds and she doesn't say anything. I eventually just go to the restroom. When I get out she said only said "bud". Then says it again, while at least looking at me this time, but now looking a little annoyed. Goes back to looking over the form and without looking at me, asks for my insurance card. I followed my instinct and said I am canceling my appointment. "Ok", looking at me with indifference again. I had to ask for my paperwork so it wouldn't be billed accidently. Once I got it, I started to leave, and mentioned she was coughing/sick. She sarcastically said 'bye'. I came back in and addressed her attitude and about being sick. I am guessing they have so much business it doesn't matter how she treats people, because she just turned and walked away... I left, because I didn't feel at that point I could trust them to do the testing correctly, and really didn't want to find out one way or the other...maybe you will get a different experience if you decide to go there...

I purchased a pair of Earlens hearing aids about 7 months ago. At the end of 90 days I informed them that they were not working out. The processors We're unreliable and when you remove the processors from your ears you are really deaf because you have lens covering your ear drums and blocking out any sound. I made an appointment with Earlens and returned them as soon as I could get to Menlo Park. I had to travel from Hawaii. I returned the hearing aids to Earlens in early February. Wonderful experience from start to finish at this office!…read more I've always been protective of my hearing at concerts, parades, and other loud environments, but always been a little disappointed at how regular foam earplugs and even more expensive plugs distort the sound. I knew custom-fit, professionally engineered plugs were an option for far less distortion (and thus more enjoyment of shows), and I decided to bite the bullet and have some made. There was a little bit of a snafu with the appointment I'd made through a third-party provider, but the office managed to work me in despite the trouble (which was totally not their fault). This was all uncharted territory for me, but Dr. Giana Hatem put me at ease and was really wonderful to work with throughout the whole process. She answered all my questions, made some recommendations, and walked me through everything, from taking impressions of my ears (which feels super weird, but it doesn't hurt one bit) to making sure the fit was right and that I was happy when the final product came in. Which brings me to another thing to love about this office: they have a wonderful sense of humor! So refreshing! As Dr. Hatem was walking me through the office while I had bright pink goop in my ears, another doctor pointed at my ear and said "there's something in your ear!" On a return visit, they had a skeleton sitting on a bench in their waiting room reading a newspaper for Halloween too. These are not stuffy, super-serious-business people. I love that. After using my new earplugs for a while, I decided I wanted a second pair with far less attenuation for karaoke nights so I could hear myself off the house speakers better while singing, and Dr. Hatem made that process super easy. She asked me several questions to make sure she understood my needs and went out of her way to find me attenuators with about 80% less apparent attenuation (16dB less). I didn't even have to come back in for impressions- they still had my previous ones available to make a second set of plugs. If you're a serious musician or even just a serious concert-goer and you want to hear the full spectrum of sound, without distortion, and just quieter, I really recommend getting a custom set of earplugs. And this California Hearing Center office is a terrific place to get some made!

She was very knowledgable on his disability and how to best help him. Even better she listened to me and understood the barriers my son encounters in his daily life. We are using her evaluation to get Auditory Integration Training (AIT) Berard method to help my son. It's worth the drive to San Mateo to see her. BTW- she accepts funding through school districts so you can ask the school to fund this evaluation/treatment for you.
