The wait time by phone is unreasonably long. If I can get in touch with an agent in the USA, the process is much shorter and my questions or issues are always resolved. If the agent is outsourced from another country, the success rate is 50/50. It's just a poorly designed process. If the sensors I use break before it's time for a refill, the patient must call Abbott, the company that makes the sensors. This problem occurs about 15% of the time. Very frustrating and I often don't have the sensors when they are needed. It's really a good idea, but the execution disappoints. read more

I moved to another state in July and contacted Better Living to update my address. The person who took my new mailing address entered it incorrectly. I've called once a week and get the same answer, they are looking into , but nothing ever happens. I have asked to speak to a supervisor and am told someone w call me back. Never happens. My supplies are covered by Medicare, I sure Better Living billed Medicare an and got paid. Sounds like fraud to me. Unfortunately, there is not a 0 stars rating. They take your prescription order then it goes to a black hole. If there is a problem, you have to call them they will not contact you at all. Their English as a second language call center staff are hard to understand and do not seem to care there is a communication issue. They want you to use the improved website. Let me jump on the band wagon of how horrible BLN is. Over the course of a week, I've called them maybe 10 times in effort to get supplies. Spent hours on the phone hearing "I have procedures and can't transfer you". I was promised return phone calls but couldn't be on the emails requesting them. I started calling at 330 and was told I would be called back by 6. They wouldn't let me hold because they only have one line. I called several times between 330 and 558. During the last call I was told it was too late in the day to speak with anyone. May they all get horrible rashes in unspeakable places. And yes, I have the receipts to prove how atrocious they are. I feel unoriginal in this review, because I'm saying the same thing as everyone else - If I could give them minus 5 stars I would. Orders go into a black hole. You can't get an order status either on the phone or online. You can't speak to a higher-level person, you can't call any departments directly, and those who answer the phone won't even provide their managers' names. I have filed a complaint with the state of New York (where they are based) and Blue Cross Blue Shield RI (my insurance provider) against this company as I am now officially out of my diabetes supplies and they are not even responding to my requests or returning my calls. For some reason BLN refuses to help customers complete purchases. No matter how many times I call them about an issue with my order they are unable to give me a straight answer and instead promise me that someone who can help will call me back. They send an email confirmation saying my order was placed then 3 weeks later when I call to ask where it is they tell me they are waiting on the insurance company. The service is so compartmentalized and has gone down hill. When you call and place an order you have to call back three weeks later to see if it's been sent yet and they don't even have a record of it. Then you have to wait for somebody to escalate it to a different department and pray you get a call back which you typically don't. Nobody can answer anything and nobody can apparently transfer phone lines to get you to the right department. You sit on hold, you wait for 20 minutes for no resolution.You call back a week later, no resolution but a promised phone call, you wait, you call back, you complain, you get to argue with a thick accent, you still get no resolution.....This company is absolutely terrible. My review is the same as most others. Since BLN was bought by Rotech a few months ago, customer service has become non-existant. For the second time I haven't received my ostomy supplies in 3 weeks (fortunately I have backup supplies), and when I talk to a rep about it, they tell me they will forward my request to a supervisor who will call me back. I've yet to receive a call back, and at the call center they will not connect you to anyone else. The last time I DID receive an order, a box that was supposed to contain 50 units had 14. I'm going to report them to the BBB, and I'm switching to another distributor immediately. read more

I have been using better living now for right at a year, they are incredibly incompetent and are late regularly filling my dexcom g7 sensor refills, they always say they are waiting for my doctor and my doctor has shown me repeatedly they have sent the information better living now has asked for. I call daily and right now it's going on 8 days and I'm getting the same story and I won't get my refill for the holiday and I will be without my sensor over Christmas that I would have tried to get starting 13 days before the time I leave. The communication between better living now and my doctor is non existent and when better living now system says select one to call you back the phone simply goes silent and you don't receive a call back. My insurance recommended Better Living Now as the breast pump would be covered at no cost to us. Now 3.5 years later we get a collections notice for part of the bill. When contacted to see why after we were in collections 3.5 years later we were told "the remaining balance is the patients responsibility". I know that my question was why after 3.5 years are they looking for payment now instead of after the claim was paid by the insurance. Of course no response from them on the follow up question, rather just a email back saying "call us to make the payment". Outstanding customer service to handle things like that. No wonder why they have a 1.5 star rating here. I also reported this to my insurance company to not recommend them anymore, what a joke to wait over 3 years then just send it to collections when all my contact info has not changed, plenty of chances to let me know. No supervisor available. Never once did I get a call back. I was hung up on by reps bc I refused to disconnect and wait for a callback that was never coming. Just to get to a rep is a 30 minute commitment. People need diabetic supplies to live. A customer care agent named Nicole (sorry, I don't have her last name) exercised maximum effort to make sure that my exact needs for specific ostomy products were researched and met. This included passing forward information requests for product research and confirmation, expediting provider prescription requests, making at least 2 return calls in order to provide me with feedback, as well as separating out certain items into unique orders to prevent delays. Terrible, and considering the industry in which they operate, they are incredibly negligent. With my former insurance, I used to order vital supplies for my health condition directly from the company that makes the supplies. I would place the order directly with them, and in a few days, I would have my supplies. With my new insurance, I was forced to go through a distributor, namely "Better Living Now." Today is June 14. I ordered my supplies through BLN on May 16, and to this day, I still don't have my supplies. Their excuse is "backorder." (Funny: the company that makes my supplies NEVER delayed shipping to me.) I've called BLN so many times along the way, I've lost count. One time in particular truly angered me, when I found out BLN didn't send a Prior Authorization form to my doctor, even though they said they did. I had to serve as the middle man to get that very basic task done. With all the delays, I begged for them to expedite my order three times, and they "put in a note" for my request, to no avail. I ended up canceling my order, insisted that they NOT follow up with me, and I decided to go back to old technology for my condition. I'd rather deal with old, inferior technology than this company that has little-to-no regard for human life. Was forced to use BLN when we changed insurance. I have yet to receive a full order and back ordered items never come. I have to reorder and deal with the paperwork every month instead of 90 day supplies. They have no idea how to bill Medicaid as a secondary insurance even though we got approval prior to placing the order. My daughter is out of supplies and trying to eliminate their Third excuse why they can't fill the order. Never had this type of issue with our old DME supplier. I am looking into my insurance options to see if I can pay more for someone else. They call often claim to have called and left VM. Usually it comes as an email. Our phone records show that they calls were never received. They dont have an understanding that the medical supplies they are to be providing are helping keep my daughter alive. read more
