Every…read moretime in the last 3 years my husband and I have been sent in for preventive screening that should be no cost to us if billed as a screening they have been billing them as diagnostic even though every time the prescription from the doctor says screening. When you ask them to resubmit it to the insurance with the proper diagnostic codes for a screening they refuse and you have to get your insurance company on the phone with them, and they still argue about it. If a scrip says it is a preventive screening bill it correctly! As I said have been fighting with them for both me and my husband for over 3 years over this. We have been having these screenings there since 2016 and the first 6 years everything was billed correctly but now it is like they have idiots working in the billing department who refuse to go by the scripts submitted. I have even had the doctor's office call them and they still refuse to bill it correctly. Do not ever use them if what you are going for is a preventive screening. They also bill through North Shore University Hospital instead of as a stand alone facility so the costs are much higher than they should be being billed as. We have one bill in collection now that we are disputing as had it been billed correctly our insurance would have paid it in full. I will no longer use them even though all my doctors are Northwell. From now on I will go to Zwanger or Bab radiology.

I had to call the doctor's office, very concerned that the doctor had sent me off from 40 minutes away without a script for bloodwork. I had to ask them to send the script, which they sent me by email. It was the exact same paperwork. I waited, wondering if I should interrupt one of the lab techs and ask if I had the right paperwork. I finally did interrupt Theresa, who checked the paperwork and assured me that it was the actual script. It was 27 pages (genetic testing), lengthy and involved, but Theresa, calmly and patiently, took on the task, which took her quite a bit of time. She was thorough and friendly -- in short, terrific. She is why I am rating this 4 stars. Obviously, the other woman in lab coat didn't want to take on such a Herculean task, so she sent me off to call my doctor to beg the office to send me the "real" script. All of this was totally unnecessary and stressful. But, hey, she got out of doing it, right? My advice to her? Have fun doing those simple, lazy, little jobs, hon. NO ONE is going to want to work with you for long. And you are bad for business.

The delay in taking him to the hospital was based on this highly questionable recommendation may have been the deciding factor in the patient being too far gone for a recovery. He died of COVID six days after hospital admission. The family did not enjoy explaining to hospital staff why "you waited so long" to bring him in. The current recommendation on blood-oxygen in a positive COVID case is 94. Fuck this guy. If you love your family, find a new "doctor".
