Terrible communication and unprofessional service. The doctor and his assistant called care credit to open a new credit card for me when I never agree to do anything at their place. They said it is just a quick call to check if I am qualified for monthly payment, and then I got a new credit card weeks later. When I called back they don't take any responsibility and said "look you signed the application." As a result I am now dealing with the dropped credit score and need to call to cancel the new credit card. Well done. I highly suggest avoiding going to their office. read more

Excellent service! I am very pleased with my results of Gum Grafting with Dr. Kong. I was not happy with my smile and thought of getting veneers at first but I also liked my natural teeth. I am glad I listened to Dr. Kong's recommendation and kept my natural teeth instead, It worked out better for me. I had been doing research for years on what doctor to go to as I wanted someone that was good at what they did and I am happy with my choice. The procedure was quick, I felt a small discomfort towards the end when we were almost done but it wasn't really painful. The recovery for me was great, I didn't even need to take pain medication. I really had no difficulties but of course I followed the doctors instructions to the T. Office is very clean and are following the CDC guidelines. I had a great experience with Dr Kong's office. I can't remember too many doctor / dental practices where the front desk was as pleasant and caring, offering to hang my coat and showing me where the bathroom was, and wishing me a nice day. Dr Kong was great in getting right to business and letting me know what I needed to take care of to maintain my teeth, showing me the Xrays and in my seat and using a dental prop that helped me understand the exact issue I have. After years of dealing with incompetent and crooked dentists, I am happy to have found Dr. Kong. My reasons: 1. When I first to went to see Dr. Kong over a year ago, I had a feeling I would need a root canal. I was concerned because a previous root canal performed by a general dentist went very badly. But, Dr. Kong sent me to a skilled endodontist, Dr. Steven Svetcov, who flawlessly completed the root canal. I can appreciate it when a medical professional, especially a dentist, will refer a patient to a specialist when needed. 2. Following the root canal, Dr. Kong successfully placed two crowns in my mouth. There was no pain or discomfort, either during the placement or afterwards. The crowns look good and have held up well so far. 3. Dr. Kong took the time to explain the procedures to me and answered all my questions. 4. Dr. Kong was flexible enough to accommodate me at both his Manhattan and Queens offices. 5. Unlike with other dentists I have dealt with, I never felt that Dr. Kong was pushing any unnecessary or expensive work. Dr. Kong is great!! I've been going to him for a few years now. Make sure you do what you're supposed to do to take care of your teeth though because he will definitely tell you about yourself in a nice way. You can tell he really cares about his patients. There is never a long wait, you arrive for your appointment and he's ready for you. When you're in the chair he's gentle and he makes sure you're comfortable. Sue at reception is very sweet as well. She recognizes me right away even after I've been away for quite a few months. She addresses me by name and is very cordial. Dr. Kong's assistant is great as well. Everyone is professional & caring. I've recommended him to many even though they didn't take my recommendation I'd still recommend this office. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Kong for the past 3 years and all i have to say is that he is the BEST dentist! I neglected my teeth for a long time because I'm very afraid of dentists. A few weeks ago my back tooth started hurting. Not really bad but the holidays were coming up so I figured it's probably a cavity so let me just go get it filled. Since my insurance at the time didn't cover oral care I just went to the closest dentist with good reviews. Every single staff member was extremely nice friendly and welcoming. So when I get there they do some X-rays and unfortunately I needed a root canal. Dr Kwag showed me the X-ray explaining every detail. I had a root canal several years ago so I knew it was going to be painful but I had no choice so I said let's do it. This experience was nothing like my previous root canal. Let's say the pain level of my last root canal was a 9 with 10 being the worst. This root canals pain level was a 4. I'm not kidding it really wasn't bad. Dr Kwag even called after the procedure to check on me. So after the root canal I had to get a post and crown. This is where I met Dr Kong also extremely friendly and down to earth also explained each step. I would highly recommend this office. I now have dental insurance but unfortunately they don't take my insurance if they did I would be a customer for life. read more

Well despite the good reviews i unfortunally had a bad experience First off if you drive there is no place for parking there. After looking for parking for about 20 minutes i got to the address provided on Yelp and my insurance website and its actually the wrong building. Its actually around the corner. So when i finally get there aparently they never booked me and couldnt see me and couldnt help me. The recieptonist asked me who i spoke to (like i remeber or know there names) and i said the person i spoke to sounds like you. So she couldnt own up to her mistake. Mean while Dr Kong was just waking in the background all cocky. Didnt really like his impression. So now i have to wait another few weeks to see a doctor about my tooth ache. Never Again! read more

Very happy to have found Dr. Kong on Yelp! It happened a few months ago when my wife had a severe toothache. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and made her feel comfortable despite the fact that she's very squeamish. Today, I went for my first visit--a routine exam and cleaning (it's been a few years). One of my molars has been very sensitive an a previous dentist said I need a root canal. Been putting off dealing with it. But, today Dr. Kong noticed that my discomfort was probably due to my tooth being uneven and receiving too much pressure on one side while chewing. I've had the same dentist my entire life, but recently had to find a new one: Dr. Kong. While I was tentative to venture into new territory, I found Dr. Kong to be both efficient and professional. I liked his receptionist (very friendly) and the level of cleanliness of the facilities. Scheduling was easy (he and his receptionist are very responsive to emails and calls). Timing was convenient (after 5:00pm). His cleaning was not like that of my previous dentist (which I thought was a bit more thorough, but also a lot more expensive, so I won't count this against him), but he took care of a cavity painlessly and in record time. I haven't (luckily) had to have anything more complex, but I would trust him if I needed any subsequent work. I would highly recommend him. Dr. John Kong is the best dentist I've ever had. I had an issue with my right top molar. There was pain everytime i bit into food. I was expecting the worse, but after a thorough examination...i just had to shave a little off the molar. The pain was gone when I ate after the appointment. I had to do a dental implant restoration with little to no record of my implant because of the country It was completed in but given Dr Kong expertise in this department, he was able to accurately describe what kind of implant it was through an X-ray and was able to successfully restore it within 1 hour.
