I had a really great experience with this roofing company. They did a full roof lift and relay for me and the quality of the work was solid from start to finish. The crew was easy to work with, showed up when they said they would, and clearly knew what they were doing. They also added storm weatherproofing underneath the tile, which gave me a lot more peace of mind for the next rainy season. One thing I really appreciated was that they noticed an area where water had been collecting before and installed an additional piece of gutter to redirect the flow so it won't pool there anymore. On top of that, they cleaned out my gutters and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left. No mess, no leftover debris--just a job done right. Called them to do more repairs in early March, they came out gave me a quote and said they were super busy but would get me scheduled for early April. Started calling about April 10 to follow up but could only get a "two more weeks" story. Would not recommend this company at all. Gilbert Sr came out to estimate my roof to cost $17,000. He said there were 3 layers of shingles on it and each layer would cost $1500 each to remove! He came back out and said the cost increased by 10% but when I got the second quote it had increased by $4,000. He enjoys ripping people off. I paid $1,000 before I had help looking into the contract and was shown there were several discrepancies on it. First discrepancy was there were only two layers of shingles (this was confirmed by different companies coming out to my home to give me quotes), second discrepancy was a "mandatory" asbestos survey that totaled to $1800. I went down to Building and Safety in San Bernardino and they said the survey was not needed for residential homes unless doing a demolition. Third discrepancy was he told my insurance I had an add on at my house that would need shingles which was false. My patio did not ever have nor need any shingles. Any discrepancies make a contract null and void in California. Gilbert Jr agreed to give a full refund but then Gilbert Sr called me and was very aggressive to find out why I wanted to cancel & to tell me his son did not know what he was doing & a refund would not be given. I don't understand why a refund wouldn't be given if a start date hadn't been given and no materials had been purchased. Multiple emails were sent and phone calls were made to Villareal roofing but they were ignored. Very poor way of handling clients. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I am leaving a 4 star review because of the amount of time it took to get to my project. My project was small, so I imagine it was fit in between large projects. Also the rainy season was long and drawn out, which probably led to delays. They did allow me to do my own tear off, which worked off well. I will know by this winter if everything is ok. Wish I could give ZERO stars. This company is run by scammers! My husband and I were assigned this company as contractors by our home warranty company. We had some minor leaks in the garage roof close to the end of the rainy season and filed a claim with the warranty company. They sent the claim to Villareal Roofing and when they came out they said the work on the roof wasn't done correctly before but they could put some tar in a few spots and there wouldn't be any more leaking. They were here for 15 min, put a little bit of tar on the roof, charged us $60 for coming out and then billed the warranty company for nearly $1000. We didn't find out they billed the warranty company that much until months later when we needed more work done and we filed a claim again. Villareal Roofing was once again sent out to assess the damage. They told us they had to charge us $60 for coming out again, and that the estimate for repairs was $600! They said the warranty probably wouldn't cover it because we used so much money on the first visit. WHAT?!?! 15 min and some tar took up a $1000 credit? This company billed so much the first time around that now we're out of pocket for the second round of repairs. Suffice to say, since the warranty company isn't going to be paying for these repairs (THANKS TO THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY) we will not be using them. We are going to find our own contractor and we recommend that you do the same!! The only reason to use Villareal Roofing as your contractor is if you enjoy getting screwed over and want to pay out the nose for little to no work being done. He gave me a report and quote. . We agreed on a day for repair. . We confirmed the time on the day of the repair. . Roofer did not come during the time window quoted......nor much later. . I called the company, reaching only voicemail, twice. . I asked that they call me if they still wanted the job. . They NEVER responded in any way. . The roofer did not put the tiles where they had been but left them many feet away, allowing moisutre or rain to enter my home. PERHAPS THIS COMPANY CAN DO QUALITY REPAIRS BUT THEY LACK GOOD BUSINESS SKILLS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH THEY PRIDE THEMSELVES ON. Never ever ever deal with this company! How they have any good reviews is suspicious or the homeowners are clueless about roofing and costs. This person named Gilbert, the licensed roofer, was asked to inspect a roof and advise the cost of repairs with a 2 year roof cert. He asked for $500 upfront to show up and would apply this to the cost of repairs. His repair quote was for $3000 and gave a whole detailed explanation of what he would do. He NEVER provided a written estimate or written explanation of work required and asked for the total cost of this job UPFRONT! The contractor sent 2 guys who were on the roof for less than 90 minutes and left. When I inspected their work I nearly puked! See the picture. They simply laid non matching composition roofing right over the existing bad roof creating all kinds of lumps and for this 90 minute work, the cost was $3000? The roofer to this day has not provided me with a work order and now doesn't return calls. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the State Contractors Board and will be going after his Bond to get refunded and maybe reimbursed to remove his shoddy work and use a real professional to correct his job. He was also not legally allowed to collect the $3000 upfront according to the contractors board so hopefully I will get some relief from them. In the meantime, stay away from this company and Gilbert Villareal at all costs!! Terrible is an understatement! read more

Had them come out to replace the roofing on my home, did a bad job on the replacement, especially on the patio roof, they left nails sticking out underneath and made several holes through the patio's wooden frame, and managed to break a hole through the roof into one of the rooms. They did fix this hole however the fix was very shoddy and does not look like it will last, the popcorn ceiling replacement they used has not even been up for a month and is already falling apart. read more
