Wait time is terrible. The info about wait time and place in line is false. That only has to do with checking in. They make that pretty fast and seamless and then you are stuck waiting to be taken back and then still another wait before seeing someone. Not a good experience at all. read more

Have no idea how the "book online" system works. Got text message saying I would be taken in 25 min after scheduled time. So I went in later only to be told I was a "no show" and I would have to wait "for just a little bit" which when I pressed was told would be at least an hour. Then they informed me nonchalantly that there was no x-ray tech there to treat my possible broken foot. But they could still examine me and if needed refer me. Yeah - I'm going to sit there in pain for at least an hour for a possible broken foot without an x-ray. People come to Urgent Care in pain and sick. Show some empathy. read more

Got there at opening for my 4 year old daughter. Completed their online registration process ASAP. Was called back after 30 minutes and then sat for an hour with no update or anything. Not bad facilities. Standard. I checked in on timing and the Nurse Practitioner gave me attitude. I then grabbed a snack for my daughter from the break room and was told that I should've asked first. Normally I would agree, but when someone has been waiting with a toddler for an hour, you show some empathy. When the NP finally arrived, we patched things up. She said that the employees have to pay for the snacks. I don't hold the attitude against her. She's probably just over-worked. This company is clearly just milking the market, under-staffing, and treating their practitioners and customers like crap throughout. This review is for the business, not the humans there. I came to this place for the first time for a cough and chest congestion. I was told to do the online registration and have a seat. An hour goes by and I went up to the counter to ask if I was to owe anything. It wasn't until I asked that the front desk lady proceeds to tell me they don't accept my insurance and that I'd have to pay out of pocket. I dont care about the money. It's the principle. Were you going to wait till I was seen to then tell me I'm not covered and take my money regardless? On top of that you had me wait an entire hour just to tell me that. Being sick should be a simple process of getting seen and going home to rest. It's never that simple anymore. These places just want your money. Do better. It's disgusting read more

I've been here twice for non-urgent issues. It sits directly across from the Southpoint Walmart. Check in on the kiosk upon arrival and someone will call you up to sign the paperwork. Building is new, updated and super clean. I don't know if it's been my timing, but it has never been terribly busy when I've been here. Wait time is fair and staff are cordial. I have been to Carenow multiple times for my kids and myself, Every time I go I always am greeted by the warm staff who take care of my kids and myself. I just wanted to point out from the front desk with Kristi checking us in, We get in the back to have Tabitha as our nurse she is OUTSTANDING... when it comes to swabbing the kids for the flu or covid she is gentle and takes her time. I have seen multiple of the providers but I will say my FAVORITE provider is Karina followed up by Rachel & Kendall. On the morning of his birthday, my 2-year old son fell on the edge of the platform bed while boxing with his dad. He cried for a couple of seconds but quickly stopped after his dad consoled him. While I washed him up, I noticed he had a cut on the back of his ear. His pediatrician is an hour away, so I took him to BetterMed. This was my first Urgent Care experience, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The waiting room decor was very modern and sleek. We waited about 20-30 minutes, as there was another patient being taken care of at the front desk. When Kaleigh called us over, my son decided to run around the front desk. She was so patient with him, plopping him on her lap while she took down our information and even allowing him to sit at his "own desk." I have the cutest pics of him "typing" and "talking on the phone." Not long after, we were seen by Mukul Mallick, PA, who was AWEsome! He assured that I did the right thing by bringing my little guy to Urgent Care (to hear that as a first-time mom meant everything). In addition, he explained the steps he was going to take to treat my son's wound. Luckily, all he needed to do was clean the wound and apply Dermabond. Once I told him that it was my son's birthday and his party was in a few hours, he made him a balloon from a glove. My son played with it throughout the weekend. :) Overall, I had an extremely pleasant experience and highly recommend this location for those who find themselves in need. read more

I've come here many times over the few years it's been open with no complaints. But this last time I came in with my teenaged son. He had swollen tonsils and lots of pain with swallowing. The staff was told that he had minor cold symptoms 3 days prior to our visit. Once back in the room they asked if we'd like to run a covid swab along with the strep test. We said yes since he had minor symptoms days before with this throat issue now. He came back positive for covid. We were then given reading materials and the boot. I honestly was surprised by the positive test and got wrapped up in that and what it brings. (Quarantine, calling people to notify etc). Two days later his throat worsened. I called the Better Med (since they say, "call us if you need us") first off no one RAN THE STREP TEST when we were there for our original visit ! They only ran the covid test. Why?! Because you apparently can only have one medical problem at a time?! ‍ Secondly, Then because of his positive test, no one would look at him or touch him, we were told to go to the ER. I had already spent $75 on this visit, they did not complete all the diagnostic tests and now I'm being asked to spend another $200 at the ER plus whatever testing they'd like to run as well! I called another urgent care in Spotsylvania, they were able to diagnose him over telehealth. And I'm here to let these Drs know that they could have killed my son because of their negligence! He had tonsillitis and needed 10 days of penicillin and 6 days of steroids to get him well again. They diagnosed him over the damn phone, and you all couldn't be bothered! Don't give these people your money! They're only there to run covid tests and add you to their list of deplorable's. They don't give a shit wether you're really ill or not. I'll end the review here, but know also that the PA we had at better med also changed her demeanor massively after asking us if we were vaxed. Her personality was night and day. Just a lovely experience over all. I hope y'all don't end up killing someone! Y'all need a good dr? Go to Prime Care Urgent & Family Care in Spotsylvania. They'll treat the whole patient, regardless of a covid diagnosis. Because it is possible to have more than one thing going on with you at the same time. read more

Best Urgent Care experience ever. Clean and modern environment. I came in at a slow hour feeling pretty miserable and all of the ladies are so friendly, sweet and patient. Inez went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and the doctor was very informative. Usually I never go to the trouble of a yelp review but this place was really great for me. Truly a 5 star establishment, I'll come back over my general practitioner next time I'm feeling ill. read more

It was great service, unlike service I've had at so many places in the Fred/Spotsy area. I mean, the phone service was fast and efficient. We arrived and got taken care of right away; then we were shown to a clean and pleasant room. This is light years better than PUC, even as there's no PCP. Have tonsilitis and went in. Initially the guy was very nice and told me that there would be a two hour wait and to put my name on the list. It appeared that my name was third on the list, so there were only a couple names that appeared to be ahead of mine. We went about our day and by the third hour we had expected to get a call so we drove all the way back to an empty parking lot and an empty waiting room to be told that even though we had been waiting for three hours already, we would have to wait another three hours. Riddle me that definitely don't come here if you want speedy healthcare. Worst primary care experience I have had. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about the Spotsylvania location. The receptionist is the best, so sweet and kind. They never made us feel bad for coming in 30 minutes before closing. Our toddler daughter was in screaming pain from not being able to move her arm. The Dr. came in and popped her elbow back into socket (that we didn't even know was out of socket) and she was 1,000 times better. Everyone here is so professional and kind. read more

I went there to be seen same day for an urgent matter. I got excellent care from the staff. Everyone was friendly and they took care of my medical issue beautifully. As far as that I would give them five stars. However, when it came time to pay my bill, I was not able to log into the website that they gave me for online paying and I was never able to get anyone on the phone. I ended up playing phone tag back and forth. In the end the late fees that were added to my bill were more than the original co-pay. Would be nice if they would accept the co-pay right upfront so that no one else gets caught in this. read more

I had to change my 5 star service to a 2 star and might even go to a 1 star. I've been sick since the beginning of the month. I saw the PA and yes everyone was wonderful. I was given antibiotics and was told to take Mucinex in Afrin nose spray. Now I was told to hold off a few days on the antibiotics cause she thought the worst was over. So a few days went by, I ended up filling the order. Its was for 10 days. Ok we are now at 2 plus weeks into this after the appointment. I called today ( 6/27/18 ) and expressed that I'm still sick, coughing none stop. And now its in my chest. And could she order up some cough syrup? She wanted me to come back in, ( I'm totally ok with that ) but I'm not ok paying another 75 dollars for the same reason I went in the first place. I have already missed 8 days of work. I'm just now hoping this is not turning in to pneumonia. Her diagnosis was a sinus infection. I would love for them to call me back, and have me come in at no charge. I can't help that what she order me didn't work. Now I just feel it's all about the money. UPDATE 6/28/18 I went to my primary Dr. and I have severe bronchitis. I saw the PA Kelly today and was happy with her care and the facility as a whole. I arrived around 10am on a Saturday and was brought back within 5 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and quick. The building is very nice and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs medical care on a weekend, or any day for that matter. read more

Showed up for a 5pm appt to be told it would be an hour and a half wait to be seen once you were called back. Had I known earlier, I could have found an appt elsewhere. I would not recommend this Urgent Care. The staff and PA were OK, nothing special about them. I was seen on a Saturday, and my insurance was billed for an after-hours fee even though they were open along with a high level of service (45-minute exam) code. I was in the clinic for less than 30 minutes; this included being registered, seen by the medical assistance, the PA, and walking out. I have called the billing department several times, and each time they say Tina will return my call. I have not received a return call yet. I feel they are fraudulently billing the insurance company, I have filed with my insurance company to do a medical review of my records and the codes they used. Please beware of their billing practices. read more

This was the best urgent care experience I have ever had. I work as a Nurse Practitioner at an urgent care clinic in Northern California and was home in Fredericksburg, Virginia visiting family when my 2 year old came down with croup. BetterMed was fantastic! The facility is gorgeous (modern and clean) and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were so kind to my 2 year old and made him super comfortable by offering him stickers at the beginning of our visit and explaining everything they were doing. We saw Mukul Mallick, PA and he was wonderful! He had such fantastic bedside manner, was knowledgeable, and got us in and out fast. The clinic had dexamethasone (oral steroid) to treat his croup on site which saved us a trip to the pharmacy or ER. I will definitely recommend BetterMed to our Fredericksburg family and friends and use them in the future when we're in town! read more

You can do an early check in online to hold your time. The place is clean, staff is friendly. Wait time was short. Saw a P.A she was very nice, nurses were all nice. Results were quick. This will be my spot to go when I can't get into my regular Dr. Located next to the Orange Therapy Fitness. They send you a reminder 30 minutes before your appointment. You will receive an email about your visit, and I received a follow up call on the results of my labs. Awesome and easy! read more

As always, realized my child was in need of a doctor visit well after our normal pediatrician's office was closed. I went in cold after simply choosing this one because they were literally the only place still open. I am SO GLAD I discovered this place. You always wonder about a non-pediatrician's bedside matter with little ones, but my daughter was eating out of the doctor's hand! The check in process was smooth and efficient, and after she went through a few tests, she was quickly diagnosed with strep and antibiotic called in smoothly. What impressed me the most was that I was handed paperwork on the way out that specifically listed each test she was given with each result. The paperwork included more info on what to expect and when to return. Given that the wife wanted a full report and my attention was on the wee one, this was a lifesaver for us all. Be wary of hidden charges. I went on a Sunday, paid my insurance co-pay and saw a PA. Visit was OK. Later billed an "after hours" charge for coming in on a Sunday even though they were open for business. I have written the company asking that the charges be removed, but they keep billing me. It will be a cold day before they get the additional charges or a visit from me again. I have never experienced this with other urgent care centers. Read an article after the fact that Better Med was one of the urgent care centers known for billing hidden fees. read more

Facility is new and staff is nice. Cost of visits much higher than other urgent care facilities. I have three children and visit urgent care for routine colds, sore throats, and ear aches on weekends. There is a weekend charge and higher charge for first visits. I have been three times and even on second visits the unexpected higher costs assigned post third party review and coding of the visit outweighs the newer amenities. read more

I am very unhappy with the non-professionalism of the nurse practitioner/PA, at the facility this afternoon. (9-12-18). I can't believe how my son was treated here. He is a cancer survivor, suffers from migraines and gets several sinus infections during the year. This nurse saw him a month ago for a similar issue and when he returned today (after sitting up to sleep, taking over the counter medicines, and yes using a nebulizer to help him breathe) which, he explained and more to her. She told him this would be the last time she would treat him for this issue and he needed to go to an ENT for help. She begrudgingly gave him a script and basically told him not to return. Oh, by the way he does see an ENT. You can't just walk into a specialist and say I need to be seen, it takes weeks even months. This is what an urgent care is for, short of going to the ER. As a Registered Nurse myself, I can tell you I would have been fired for this behavior! Yes, I am upset that someone who is considered a professional can behave like that. Take it for what it's worth, but don't accept bad behavior from anyone! read more
