These guys were rocking Spins Bowl down to the ground. No pins left standing!

This review is for the lounge area, which is a really excellent venue on weekends - especially if you're a fan of live, local music acts. Spins does an amazing job at creating a "win/win" -- a) providing access to high quality entertainment for folks that love live music, and b) supporting the local music community. The bartenders are friendly and responsive, and the room is a cool space to hang out in. Plus the food is good too! I mean, yes it's a bar on Route 9 attached to a bowling alley and arcade - but if you're looking for a weekend destination for a very very fun night out, you'd be hard pressed to find a better option than the Spins Bowl lounge.

I was looking for bowling options in the area and saw that this place seemed nice. The reviews were fair and the photos seemed good so we decided to give it a shot. Conveniently located right on the main road. We got there at around 4 PM on a Sunday and although there were people there, there were still lots of parking spaces and lots of lanes open. This place is pretty big and has a lot to offer...definitely a nice way to kill a few hours. We went to the main counter. The rate at that time was $25 per hour, per lane and $3.75 per shoe rental. So the two of us for an hour was $32. The place was very clean and everything seemed to work well. Everything seemed to be very modern. After getting our shoes we were given a lane in the smaller room which seems to be a party room with about 6 lanes and lots of tables an chairs. Though the main area had many lanes available they may have been reserved. If you go to their website, there is a way to reserve lanes before you arrive, which is convenient. We had fun bowling, the only exception was that the lane times out on us twice, when we had 15 minutes left and again at 7 minutes left. Both times, someone had to come and reset it. After we bowled we decided to check out the arcade. I was really surprised at the number of games that were there. There were arcade games like shooters and racers but also ticket-based games where you can earn tickets based on your score...basketball, skeeball, etc... You buy a card at the machine and play as you go, similar to Dave and Busters. You can then trade your tickets in for prizes. Overall we had a great time. Next time I would like to try some of the food there. Also, check their website as I believe there are specials or promotions depending on the day and hours.

The food prices are outrageous. For example, $14 for chicken fingers and fries. Last time I'll ever order food here..

Geared towards the younger crowd, adults can partake in the play which was pretty cool. There was enough excitement from the various obstacles to provide a thrill, old and young alike. This was definitely the highlight of the entertainment center. Safety wasn't an issue and there was enough supervision even with the additional risks. There are many arcade games but 1/3 of the games seemed to be out of order for my trip. Not sure if that is because of the package my group paid for. Honestly most of the games were stale. The bumper cars were of the kiddie variety and used levers for movement instead of a steering wheel so it was a little less bump which takes away some of the fun. The overall drive space was smaller so the bumps were more like nudges. The scary 3D movie experience also didn't provide the thrill I was expecting. The aroma of buttery popcorn is very prevalent everywhere in the center, so much so that I swear it's on purpose to make you buy popcorn. The pizza was not impressive but I suppose standard for the course. During my visit the wait for the concession lines were really long. The floors were well cleaned and maintained which is a nice change from the normal food stained floors of most kiddie entertainment centers.

Considering the fact that 3 hours of unlimited attractions is $43 on its own, the Level Up package is a deal! Plus, I don't have to limit my kids' activities so everyone is happy. My boys loved the Dark Ride, which is an interactive ride with shooting elements, and the bumper cars. There was also a ropes course, rock wall, ninja warrior course, and a ballocity play area. The only bummer was that the mini bowling was out of order, and I know my sons would have loved that.

Overall, it is decent food and that's what you expect. Lanes: lanes are relatively taken care of. Some of them have the right amount of oil, and some don't. Balls: The house balls are relatively taken care of and the shoes aren't terrible. I bring my own stuff, but my family has used all those items. Dinning Area: None. Prices: comparable to most other bowling alleys. Went there with my two kids and wife spent $36.03 games no shoes. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back private lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and decent in size. Small locker room attached. Atmosphere: overall a little dark, but fun atmosphere. Wintertime is usually more dead, then the spring and summer, although league nights get crazy. Bar: like I said, in my last review, I don't really drink or smoke, but my friends that hang out here for the night really enjoy the atmosphere inside the bar the drinks are pretty cheap as well. Staff/Attendants: been going here for years, and the staff has always been pretty nice and professional. Never really had a problem with any of them and some of my kids friends have grown up to work there. It's more of a local watering hole and cheap fun spot for the locals than anything else. Nice experience! 7/10

When we went to pick up our food, we waited for almost an hour to get our food. People who were there after us were getting their food so I went to ask what was going on and literally 5 mins later we got our food. It wasn't great. The fries were good. The chicken fingers and the mozzarella sticks tasted plain and unseasoned. There is also alcohol served with one drink per ID. I will be coming back since the arcade was really fun but not for the food.

One thing to know going in is that their open lane hours can be a bit particular, so it's definitely worth checking ahead before you go. It seems like they cater a lot to league play, which makes sense given the community feel. I see people online complain about their lack of availability and if you do a quick search or look at their signage, you can see they have very limited open lane hours. The space itself is surprisingly roomy, with plenty of seating, and I appreciated that people actually respect the rules. No food or outside shoes in the bowling area, and everyone seemed to follow that without issue. Open bowling prices are very cheap. Just be aware it's cash or check only, though there is an ATM on site. Again, just check the hours because as of this review they are only open for a few hours one day a week. One of my favorite little touches is that they print out your games at the end. It's simple, but it adds to that nostalgic feel. Overall, it's not a flashy place, but that's kind of the point.
