3 weeks ago I had my nails done for a trip I was going on. I came in asking for acrylics but open to what they had, and Jenny suggested I do Gel Builder because it was lighter feel and healthier for your natural nail. She was right! On my trip the nails did not change despite the amount of sea water and chlorine I was in so I am very satisfied with my nails. I also received so many compliments on how natural they look. Even after 3 weeks of my nails growing out (see last photo), none of my nails are lifting up and are very intact with my natural nail which has NEVER happened before. Usually my fake nails would lift up on the sides or top making me want to rip them off or get rid of them but this time they're still holding on very strong. Ill have a hard time letting go of this beautiful set done by Jenny. Can't wait to come back soon. Thank you Jenny! read more

Another business trip...another broken nail. :/ I brought my mangled manicure here around lunchtime, and was pleased to see that there were no other customers inside. Admittedly, when I entered, the staff seemed less than happy (and maybe a little apprehensive) to see me. Maybe I interrupted their lunch time... I dunno. Either way, I was pleasantly surprised at how not-stressful this whole experience was. Either way, I told them what I wanted, picked a color and sat at the nail tech's station. I was a little concerned about the wait because it was lunchtime and I had to get back fairly soon, but after a few minutes, Lani showed up and sat down. I told her that I needed a repair; I wanted the nail 'sculptured' (essentially, adding acrylic to form a new tip of the nail, instead of soaking the entire broken piece off and starting over), and a polish change for both the repaired nail, and the corresponding fingernail on my other hand, so that it would complement my preexisting manicure. Lani set out to work and in about 15-20 minutes, my nail was repaired and polished. The only reason this is not a 5-star review is because Lani is not great at nail shaping. Fortunately, I am, so after she did the hard part with the acrylic, I grabbed the file and got my nail to the point where I was happy with it. The best part: for a repair and a 2-nail polish change, she only charged me 5 bucks! I was quite surprised... I just knew this was going to be at least a $15 operation (especially since the last nail salon I went to charged me $25 just for a polish change!). Would I come back here to get my nails done? No. But if I need another repair in the future, I'm going to check out Betty's first. read more

Yep. They won't honor the coupon that is on their website. Said it's been there since the last owner but they won't take it down. They get you in there with a coupon then charge you $10 more than what is advertised. Plus polish on my cuticles that weren't removed and toenails that weren't filed is another red flag. Don't come here!! I got an infection from a pedicure here after the woman ripped the side of my toenail out without asking me. It was a normal pedicure until I felt a shooting pain and looked down to see her ripping the side of my toenail out. Even if they think there is an ingrown (which it was not, I've gotten hundreds of pedicures and never once had an issue), they are not supposed to rip it out. I had to go to urgent care 2 separate times + take antibiotics and pain meds to treat the infection. I called to inform the manager, but was told by the employees that they don't know when they'll be in and "they just come by randomly." I am now waiting to hear back, but felt the need to warn potential customers that this place is a safety hazard! Would give it 0 stars if I could!! read more

They were extremely accommodating and kind. I loved the wall to wall display of powders and colors for you to choose from and they even display all the materials you can use if you choose to add a nail design to your mani/pedi. I like this option because a lot of nail salons usually don't advertise design work and you usually have to ask one of the nail techs to do it and 9/10 it doesn't look good or they don't even know how to do it, so you end up paying extra for a lousy design. I am never sure what I will get when I enter a nail salon I have never been to. Will they scrape my feet to hard, leaving me in pain? (yes I have experienced this), will they put polish on that comes of 2 hours later? This is the mystery that lay ahead of me as I entered Betty's. A nail salon that a friend and I went to this past week. I had an appointment and was embarrassingly late, shyly coming in to the salon but the staff was friendly and had not problem taking me right away. My friend was already there and her mani/pedi were looking beautifully done. First up was getting my eyebrows waxed. I am always a bit cautiuos when about to have this done because I naturally have bushy brows and waxing stylists want to make them stay bushy and have them square at the top by my nose. Longing and getting are not always the same but on this day they were. The woman waxing listened to what I asked for and told me they would have to be styled because they had grown out, I had no problem with that and lay down listening to the calming music that was a mix of elevator music and easy listening. Honestly, I found it soothing. She waxed my brows and then gave me the mirror stating that if I didn't like them she would fix them. They still weren't quite right and so I lay back down and when she was done they were beautiful. Arched brows that are thin. I love them, still looking in the mirror and smiling. Next she worked on my upper lip. This is the part where I cringe usually. It is much more painful but she made it much less so and was understanding when I let out a little yelp. When she was done she told me to feel the area and see, I felt a few little hairs and she effortlessly pulled them out making my upper lip very free. I will admit I wasn't sure if the nail polish on the wall was for sale or what we were to pick from because they were in neat clear plastic boxes with numbers on them. I finally found two that I loved. Summertime for me is all about pink, so I chose a glittery pink for my hands and a shiny darker pink for my toe nails. The water was filled by they time I sat down. Could have been a little warmer but I think salons do this to be safe, next time I will ask for it to be warmer, I like my toes to be warm when soaking in Jacuzzi water. They were very friendly and my toes were cleaned, scruff, buffed and my legs were massaged a little with lotion. I had told them nothing with lavender because I have a sensitivity to it and didn't want to be sneezing They listened and that was very appreciated by me. They offered for my friend to sit in the vacant chair next to me so we could talk. We chatted away as the second nail stylist worked on my hands. I had to stop talking for a second when she started to massage my hands and wrists because it felt so good. This is one of my favorite parts of getting my nails done and I must soak it up for all that I can. She put on one coat for my hand but I asked her could she put on two because I didn't want my nail to show through the glitter, she had no problem doing this and they turned out beautifully. They reminded me of Dorothy and her shiny red slippers except imagine them pink. I wanted to spin around and say there is no place like Betty's, there is no place like Betty's but I didn't think that would go over so well. Instead I thanked her and gave both the nail stylist and wax artist a nice tip. Sometimes when I come into a salon that is fancy, as Betty's is, I worry that is just a cover up for bad service or high prices but far from it here. The atmosphere was relaxing, fun and beautiful. The staff at Betty's was friendly and did an excellent job. I do have a side note about a few things though. One is the massage chair that you sit in. This is nothing against them, just a note in case you find yourself sitting in one of the chairs. I put the massager on a higher speed and on kneading. At that lower setting it was great but the higher setting was a tiny bit painful and later I felt as if my back had been bruised, so just a warning to the wise, if you don't want a sore back, put the massager on low. wishes: I wish the massage on feet and hands were a bit longer than about 2 minutes. I also wish my toes were a little more rounded than square but I didn't speak up so this is mainly my fault. The price for the waxing was excellent, I have paid a lot more and got a lot less. The pricing for the nails was pretty good also. My nails are still solid with polish, one of the best signs of a good salon. I have found a new home for my nails, feet and eye brows. Looking for a new salon for a pedicure I thought I would try this place out. I looked at their website which listed their hours as opening at 9 AM and they have a coupon for a pedicure for $25. I thought that was a pretty good deal! But yes it was too good to be true. First, the salon opens at 9:30 not 9 AM as the website reads. Second I was told after I got there that the pedicures start at $35 not $25 and they do not honor the coupons on their website. Apparently the salon was sold a year ago and they have not been able to update the website?! My pedicure was just ok at best-not anything special. Still have very rough heals. I use to come to Betty's when I lived in San Ramon and loved it so much that I make the trip all the way from San Jose so that I can have Andy do my acrylic nails. He always knows how to shape and color my nails to perfection. Betty's nails is reasonably priced and the salon always makes time for me, even on short notice. I came in a couple of minutes ago and got a fill didn't ask for any trim off my acrylic nails they're super short I was not expecting to pay $45 for a FILL. The nail tool when she was filing my nail smooth it skid & slightly cut the side of my Pinky skin, burned as she was using another filer. I won't be coming back again, that was my very first time. And she didn't even add any oil afterwards the gel nail polish wasn't dry even though she said it was fine. read more

I have to be honest here, there are a few things that need serious attention at Betty's Nail Salon, Danville. 1) Their on phone service rates and those charged in person DONT MATCH.. 2) Where customer service is everything they decide to go south and are very rude and sarcastic. Zero mannerisms. 3) If you don't take the service suggested by them they will instantly through tantrums. 4) Your acrylics will start peeling off in minimum 8-10 days .. * Must say KIM was the ONLY person to go to at this Salon who was kind, Fantastic at work and careful but unfortunately she doesn't work there anymore. read more

But how can you relax when the workers there are constantly talking amongst themselves in their own language. I think it's very rude when they do . It reminded me of Top Ten Nails in Pleasanton. But I went to Top Ten Nails because it was cheap and convenient. But Betty's salon is not cheap her prices are so high! You can charge more if you had that spa feel and nice chairs. I have been going to Bettys nails for over 20 years. There's a great manacurist there that I love. Last week I had a 4:45 appt. I was 10 mins late but my manacurist was still working on someone hadn't even polished nails yet. (She had been there since 3:45) I told her I was going to pickup a drink. When I got back she still wasn't finished. The new owner approached me & said since I was 10 mins late she had to give her another customer & could I come back tomorrow. I said I couldn't & how could she have given her an customer when obviously she had been there for awhile. I pointed that out & she starts yelling at me abt being late & told me I could go some place else if I didn't like it. My manacurist did do my pedicure & Betty the old owner was there & told her I was a long time good customer she said she didn't care. Someone came in a little while after my pedicure had started. This was my first time at Betty's Nail Salon & I must say they have such a friendly staff! It was so good to enter a salon that really cared about wanting business and showing it...but unfortunately, throughout the service, the cons outweighed the pros. Pedicure: * my pedicure cost $30 and DID NOT include a calf or foot massage, pumice stone OR hot towels on legs...not to mention the tub did not have sanitary bags inside. * overall paint job was good, but my nails looked a little crooked (probably from poor filing) Gel Manicure: * again, crooked filing job * VERY bumpy paint job and there were some parts of my natural nail showing through the polish * the skin around my nail and cuticle was painted over which looked very sloppy * the lady doing my nails asked me how many times I put my hand under the light at the end of the paint job...which is not my job to remember, especially since I was talking with my friend the whole time Overall I was very disappointed, especially since I spent $68 for a polish job I could have done at home. Betty's is extremely overpriced for the work you get. Although it didn't seemed rush, I don't think they cared to fix mistakes. Although I wanted to return because of how friendly the staff is, I don't think my wallet will let me go back to Betty's :( You can now see that after 6 days my gel is already peeling.
