Small restaurant-hard to find parking (depends on the time) The service was standard in a relaxed atmosphere The burger had good balance - it had a nice crust and the sauce rounded off the whole burger . Fries were good. Overall, I would recommend

Tasty but expensive burger joint in Chinatown. Should've noticed the lineup of hipsters outside. Parking is available on the street. Just watch out for coked out junkies. I had to sidestep several of them on the way over. Also don't leave any valuables in the car. The place is pretty feel-good hipsterish. Wooden benches and tables, and some vintage stuff on the counters. There is also some bar style seating by the front counter, as well as some seats that face a wall. Staff are friendly and helpful. The counter is right by the front, hence the lineup out the door. There isn't much standing room. The burgers here are definitely quite tasty. Had the jalapeno bacon cheeseburger. It's solid. My only complaint is that the patties are quite thin. So glad I got the double. I also had their dirty onion rings. Basically battered onion rings with mayo and bacon and some other fixings on top. Pretty tasty. Better than A&W I might say. The pricing reflects that too. My wallet was lightened, but buddy and I left happy. Despite the price, I can definitely recommend this place.

Super greasy spot for burgers! You will come out smelling like burgers! The burgers did not disappoint and you must get the fries. It's such a good combo together. The flavors just go so well together. There was a bit of a wait on a weekday at around 7pm but it's worth it. Location is in a bit of a sketch area so be mindful of where you're going.

I've heard a lot about Between 2 Buns and finally stopped by -- and wow, the hype is real. We ordered the single cheeseburger, jalapeño cheeseburger, onion rings, and dirty fries. Everything was packed with flavor, especially the burgers -- the patties had these crispy, lacey edges that added the perfect texture. The jalapeño cheeseburger had just the right amount of heat without overpowering the other flavors. The onion rings were thick, golden, and crunchy, and the dirty fries were exactly what you want in a comfort food moment -- messy in the best way, cheesy, and satisfying. Despite the sign that says "no mods," the staff was super kind and removed the bacon from our order without any issue. Service overall was friendly, fast, and accommodating, which made the experience even better. Bonus points for the fun, casual vibe -- there's even a little arcade machine inside.

Amazing Smash Burgers in the Heart of Chinatown! Between 2 Buns is hands down one of the best burger joints I've tried in Vancouver! If you're a fan of smash burgers, this place is an absolute must-visit. I ordered the "Between 2 Mama Burger", which is a delicious collaboration with Mama Chili Oil, and it was incredible juicy, flavorful, and packed with the perfect amount of spice. The Double Bacon Cheddar Jalapeño Burger was another hit with its bold flavors and melty cheese. The Too Hot to Handle Mama Fries brought the heat and paired perfectly with their crispy waffle fries and indulgent Dirty O-Rings. Everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and served fresh. What I loved most is how they bring personality to the dining experience with their fun decor and even a Marvel gaming cabinet to keep you entertained while you wait! The staff was friendly and made great recommendations, and the prices were super reasonable considering the quality. If you're craving a top-tier burger and fries combo in Vancouver, Between 2 Buns will not disappoint.

Got a burger and fries here after a long time of wanting to go! The burger didn't disappoint, but it was too much for me. Too greasy and too saucey. I personally prefer a more well-balanced burger. Flavours were delicious though. The waffle fries were also amazingly seasoned and crispy. Service was just counter service so it was fine. It was quiet inside.

Come check out this place that's known for their unique and delicious smash burgers and dirty fries. * Too hot to handle mama edition fries ($12.50) - these fries were my absolute favourite of the ones we tried. It was flavourful and saucy and a perfect amount of kick. I absolutely loved the cheese fries and it was amazing. 10/10. * Between mama burger ($16.50) - this was a super unique burger with a curry taste to it and it was a unique flavour profile but works with the mozzarella cheese. I loved the crispy smash burger patty. 6.5/10. * Double jalapeño bacon cheddar burger ($16.50 + $5 extra patty) - bomb it was so good and cheesy and the jalapeños were sooo good with the bacon and cheddar. I highly recommend this burger! 9/10. * Dirty waffle fries ($11) ~ sooo good the bacon and dirty fries paired so well and I am obsessed how saucy and crispy the waffle fries were! 10/10. * Dirty onion rings ($11) - the onion rings were super crunchy and flavourful I loved so delicious and well seasoned this was! 10/10. * Overall this place blew me away it was delicious and yummy and not to mention the sides were chef kiss!

Just want to be clear that I give the burger 4 stars but the ambiance 2 stars which is why I have an average of 3. If you are just planning on take-out or ordering food from this place, I highly recommend! The burgers were so crispy, well seasoned and simple but flavorful. The waffle fries were also very crispy and delicious. The place is too small to accommodate more than about 5-6 groups of people, and going on a warm summer Friday night, I am not sure if they don't have air conditioning or it just wasn't working but it was uncomfortably hot. The staff is busy in the kitchen and don't have a counter to grab your own napkins or condiments which was not great. We also asked to remove pickles on one of our burgers, and asked for a side of extra sauce but they didn't follow through. I'll definitely be eating their food again but maybe not dining in!

Great smash burger. A little saucy but I liked it. Fries were generous portion and crispy. Beer was cold and good. I wanted a strange one and they let me sample. It was great!

One of the best burger spots around , I always go for the jalepeno bacon cheddar or one of the special weekly burgers they offer, the staff is always so nice, always worth going back

"That is a tasty burger" I've had B2B from their food truck before but this is my first time at their actual restaurant. Overall great smash burgers. Well seasoned beef, crisp but not dry, fresh toasted bun. The patties are quite thin, so I recommend getting a double or triple. Decent selection of canned and draft craft beer, which is essential pairing for smash burgers. There was a line up outside with 4 groups ahead of us. We waited about 20 minutes on a weekend evening. People seemed to be moving through fairly fast. There are 4 booths inside (seating ~4 people each), and a bar with about 8 seats. Service was friendly enough. It's order at the counter (no table service) and they'll bring your food out. It was quite smoky inside. I had friends comment that I smelled like burgers afterwards. I guess there are worse things to smell like.

charred patty to the point of being burnt

we drove around the block a few times trying to get parking as there was a transit van blocking east pender with flashing lights and pylons and decided to just do take out instead of dine in. we arrived at between 2 buns on a friday night at around 7:30 pm and was greeted with a handwritten note on the front door, "please wait to be called in". this was awkward, as i saw a person a few steps ahead of me just saunter in and sat at the counter. this hamburger joint is located in a sketchy part of chinatown, is tiny, and may be difficult to find, but the delightful smell of burgers will confirm that you have arrived. i waited outside as instructed and was called in after a few minutes. this greasy spoon probably seats around 25 people max, and has a #no mods neon sign, nostalgic mchappy meal toys, and a retro arcade game of marvel vs capcom. i was told the wait would be between 20 to 25 minutes, and quickly placed my order and paid. i was then instructed to wait outside (in the winter cold, in a sketch neighbourhood) for my order. thankfully there were a few groups of people after me, some waited outside, while others just disregarded the sign and simply walked in, it was disorganized. a couple arrived and asked if i was in line and i told them i had already placed my order but there were others waiting to get in. our order took closer to 30 minutes. i got the single cheeser, smash burger patty, pickles, shredduce and special sauce with waffle fries and my partner got the double cheeser without the cheese and onion rings. our smash burgers were very thin, looks like someone may have taken their frustrations out on our burgers and charred it to the point of being burnt, and the waffle fries were heavily seasoned and not crisp. the bun was soft and the taste wasn't bad, but overall, we were disappointed with the whole experience. maybe it was an off night, or they were understaffed? unless you decide to dine in, best to order online to minimize your wait time and avoid the whole confusion with waiting outside. opens at 4:00 pm and closed on mondays.

Cute little retro-vibe burger joint smack center Chinatown. I've heard of this place some time ago but also heard about their limited service hours (predominantly open for dinner service). Small menu with a few beer options to choose from - signs that they're perfecting the few items! I opted for a jalapeño bacon smash burger and queso fries. The burger was tasty, fresh, could use a bit of fresh greens as it got heavy towards the last few bites. The queso fries was shared amongst a few, we all agreed it was overwhelmingly salty to the point of salty-bitterness, not particularly sure if it's the cheese or the seasoned fries itself but this was a no go. Overall a decent place to visit, Wouldn't go for the fries again.

I got the vegetable burrito bowl. It was good but I sort of felt like there was no unifying element to it at first, but when I thoroughly mixed everything together to get the sauce distributed, that made it much better. After mixing it was pretty tasty, but a little heavy on the sauce. FYI the "marinated fried tofu" in the veg bowl is inari, not block tofu. I also got a glass of Asahi, which was nice - it's Asahi. This Mcdonalds is unique because there are no chairs and tables anywhere near the stand-alone mall…read morerestaurant. There are also no self-serve computer order kiosks. Eating in is not an option. Note that I came around 9pm on a Monday so maybe they took all the tables away earlier. Years ago when I visited this location, they had many chairs and tables just outside and inside the restaurant. Due to the awful area, a lot of homeless people were hanging around just sitting. Not necessarily eating. Now with the chairs and tables gone, there are barely any of them hanging around so I guess it's for the better. It didn't eliminate the problem entirely because as soon as I stepped out of the restaurant area I was asked a couple times by several people for a "rolling paper", extra change, or a lighter. Also, I noticed some of the windows of the restaurant were broken and boarded up with plywood. Yikes. It was VERY hot out (30 degrees!) So I decided to visit this McDonalds for a cheap but delicious frozen treat. I wanted to try their new peach smoothie but they ran out of it. I came later at 9pm so it's not surprising but it's still disappointing because I love peach smoothies. I settled for their strawberry banana smoothie. The smoothie I bought was delicious so I think it is very much worth it. It was refreshing and I could actually taste the strawberries and Banana flavors in it. In my opinion, a medium size is just enough to cool you down on an extremely hot day. Overall, their fruit smoothies are good! Good price too as it was "summer drinks day" time so it was only $2 for a medium one ($2.38 after tax and cup fee). Service could be better. There was a group of homeless looking people in front of me counting every dime, nickel and quarter to pay for their food so it took a really long time to wait to get my order in. There were 4 cash registers. Usually, another staff member would jump in and take another order using the other register but none came. Only one register was available and there were no self-serve kiosks. I had to wait 5-6 minutes to wait and get my order in even though there was only one order in front of me. Once I got my order in, it took a little longer than expected to get my smoothie, maybe 3-4 minutes. Usually it would take 1-2 minutes if it was not busy like this visit. I have a feeling that this Mcdonalds is either understaffed or just slow. Overall, I'd avoid this location if possible. Slower than expected service, and the type of people that are walking around in the area are not very, say, totally normal. Also there's nowhere to eat your food at the restaurant or near it. Kinda inconvenient. It's a decent grab and go place for the kind of stuff where you can walk and enjoy your food such as smoothies. Only giving 2 stars for the reasons stated above. I recommend you go to the slightly better Mcdonald's nearby instead. It's by Main Street - Science World skytrain station but only one short subway stop away from the Chinatown - Stadium Skytrain Station by the mall.
