Conveniently located right by the Seabus terminal, I decided to get a burger at Dex while waiting for the next Seabus to get downtown. While the burger and fries weren't spectacular, I also couldn't pinpoint anything wrong with them. The portions were great and I don't think there are any other burger options within such close proximity to the Seabus terminal. Its conveniently located next to the seabus on Monday quay, the place has multiple choices but I have decided to try the beef pho and the shrimp spring roll. Both were delicious, the soup was not too salty and the roll was conveniently wrapped, so it can be taken to go easily. read more

We got veggie dogs and curly fries. They were good! Nothing fancy, but it was so nice to have a vegan option, and it hit the spot. The staff were very nice and provided us an ingredient list for their veggie dogs so we could see for ourselves that they were vegan (they confidentially confirmed they were beforehand). I went twice on a quick trip to North Van. Second day ordered two pho bowls. One chicken and one pork dumplings. We loved both of them. The broth was amazing and everything is so fresh. Their burger is a bomb and fries has reached another level of crispiness. Not on the the visual is amazing but the taste is fantastic. I ordered a cheese steak burger with fries. The patty is juicy, a bit smokey that blends well with melting cheese, onion and lettuce. I kept eating the fries non stop because it was so different from other burger joints. Decided to come pay this place a visit because I was hungry and needed to meet someone here in the area anyways. While their prices definitely isn't anything special, especially since the total were $12 for a simple burger with some possibly previously frozen fries, but their burger definitely is tasty though. Nothing special and out of this world good but still decent. Their fries definitely could use more salt, but some ketchup had fixed the issue though. In my quest to support local businesses I returned to an old favourite which I was very happy to see doing brisk business at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. This is one of my favourite burgers, with simple, real ingredients that all come together wonderfully. Today I tried the Sockeye Salmon burger for the first time and loved it. I would actually give DEX a 3-1/2 Stars. Burger is quite good.I think the patty is actually Angus Beef. They use a real flame grill. So beef is hot and juicy. They use a thicker bun, like a brioche bread. Very good bread. Doesn't crumble from the thick patty & all the toppings. Fries are fine. Has exact taste and texture as Red Robin fries. Processed cheese is an extra 95 cents. With Fries & pop is 13 bucks Price is above average. But this is North Van. Wow! What a delicious burger! Came here with the fam and we all got cheeseburgers. Burger patty was nice, thick, and seasoned well, toppings fresh and buns came from COBS. Fries were really good too. I really enjoyed my hamburger from here. Plain and simple, this is what they do best in this food court area. Honestly, I was surprised their burgers are this good. They're not too fashionable, not over the top. I didn't really care at that time if it was from a frozen patty or hand made. The results were good enough that I enjoyed it. TBH, I feel bad for reviewers like Robert G who had a bad experience with the food here. It can happen to anyone. However maybe the owners are new? Places like these are rotating owners all the time and sadly most of the time they're not as good as the originals. I can attest that this place is not like what that reviewer wrote about. (it had to have been an off day, or something). Read the other reviews who have written more than just one and those that post their pick and have some info about themselves. A little bit more trustworthy than some inconspicuous hidden writer who's only review on Yelp was to complain. Sorry. For me, I came with unsure expectations and was surprised how good it was actually. I would order from them again when I am in the area. I'm always amazed when I see couples working together in a place like this. To me, that is something special. Working with the one you love and cooking food that most people enjoy. So very, very sad. As my son said, "Well, it was good while it lasted." Went to Dex yesterday. (Sunday afternoon, about 430 pm.) No smile, no hello, nothing. These used to be friendly, happy folks at this place. Anyway, on to the BIG disappointment. Many years now, we have ordered the "Atlantic Salmon" burger. It USED to be an actual piece of salmon filet. Grilled, delicious. It is now basically a cat food patty. Pre formed, salty, dry, overpriced YUCK burger. The lady that used to smile and put on your toppings-with care-I might add, just squirted mass amounts of mayo on each side of the bun. I guess to off set the dryness of the "salmon" puck. Anyway, as I said-so very sad as it's hard get a decent salmon burger for a decent price anywhere on the North Shore. Won't be back. :( read more

We've been going here, steps away from McDonalds, for years -- fresh cooked as you watch, delicious beef (or chicken or salmon if you like) patties with a variety of toppings including jalapeno, and great hot dogs for the kids. If your appetite is a bit smaller, order the "junior" burger which is still sumptuous. Juicy and delicious every time, this "mom and pop" corner of the market is terrific -- certainly the best in Lower Lonsdale. And they even do a good breakfast. read more

I've eaten here once on a trip to BC. I don't know if they make the patties in house, but they definitely looked home-made. The buns came out of a bag that was clearly marked with the name of the bread place in Lonsdale Quay market, so they were definitely using fresh and local when it came to the buns. I asked the nice asian man behind the counter (who also acted as the cook) which burger he thought was the best and went with that. It was the best hamburger that I ever had. Dex Gourmet Burgers makes the most delicious hand formed gigantic burgers I've ever eaten ! The same lovely couple has been running this local spot for as long as I can remember . The burgers are close to half a pound of really top notch ground beef. They top their burgers with the freshest of ingredients and the buns they use are nice and light ,made by Cobb's Bread also in the Quay. Whoever said the burgers are made in house lied. Way too expensive for a cheap frozen burger and fries out of the box. I went there before closing so the owners (I assume) were tired but the customer service was below average. Choice of toppings is very basic. The only plus was that the lettuce was romaine instead of the shredded crap other places serve. I would not go back to this place. read more
