We had a really fun dinner on Friday Aug 14th. It was a perfect evening to dine outside on their patio, take in the evening's sunset and let someone else cook dinner. Chris, our server treated us like a couple of good old friends during our dinner. Two words to describe her would be genuinely friendly and down to earth. I ordered the #1 works gluten free hamburger where lettuce replaces the bun but you still get all the other goods. Cheddar, Mozzarella, Bacon & Mushrooms with Dill Pickles. Hubby ordered the bbq, bacon cheddar and mushroom burger. Both were fresh, slightly greasy. Favorite new west joint! This place is the perfect local hole in a wall. While the restaurant isn't the fanciest, the food and people are what you go for. We have been a few times and starting to make it our go to place. The server is very friendly and fast. The food is soo good! It actually feels real rather than like every other Sysco restaurant if you know what I mean. My favorite burger is the thai burger with peanut butter ~ sounds strange but sooo good. The yam wedges are the best. My husband got the chicken special which was great as well. We treated ourselves to milk shakes - apple pie and lemon poppy seed and they were great! Burger heaven is a great lunch spot. The service was excellent, and the food came quickly and ambiance was on point, as there wasn't a shortage of things to look at! My husband and I ordered non burger options, choosing the BLT and the grilled cheese with added ham and tomato, both with fries. The sandwiches tasted like it was made by my grandma, meaning on home baked bread, perfect amount of fillings and made with care. The best part was certainly the fries-- which were crisp, hand cut russet home fries. The portion was generous, yet we still managed to clean our plates. When everyone else is selling the same coated fries, this humble side stood out. Oh! And the bottomless iced tea was fabulous. I have been coming to the Burger Haven since I was a kid with my family. I must have been about 10, so 40 years! They still have their gravy served in a dish above a candle so it stays warm. I just love that. So many different types of burgers. Some really out there ostrich being one of them. If you love burgers check this place out. A cute little rock and roll burger joint next door. It is usually super busy most days. The service is quick and efficient, given how packed it is. Now, the menu is quite epic with great combination of burgers. Most burgers are 20 and up, but it comes with a side of wedges or salad with a choice of dressing. Though a bit pricier, the quantity is massive. I have never been able to finish a portion by myself and always had leftovers for takeaway (enough for lunch next day)! Taste wise, the variety and combinations are really top notch. However, the buns are quite dense to my liking. The three different varieties of patties I've tried so far are pretty good. Not great. Busy, table next to us were obviously heavy smokers and stank so bad we had to move. The food was completely mediocre; I could do better; a LOT better. Burger was small for the price, dry, overcooked, and just plain mediocre. Bun was not fresh, lettuce and tomatoes were terrible, French fries were inconsistent and overcooked, dry, and cold, and the whole thing was just not great for the premium prices. We have not been to Burger Heaven for many years. The décor and music is the same as it was so many years ago. It was very nostalgic with the old rock and roll music playing and photos on the wall. A very nice and comfortable room. The service was very good and the food came out quickly. We shared a peanut butter milkshake and our server split it and gave us 2 glasses. The milkshake was delicious, nice and thick and it had a good amount of peanut butter. My husband had BBQ, cheddar, bacon and mushroom burger and I had the teriyaki, mozzarella, bacon and mushroom burger. The burgers come with wedge fries. The burgers are a good size but I did not feel the quality was very good. I could not taste any teriyaki in my burger and I did not like the taste of the patty. I don't think that the quality of the beef they use is very good as it did not have a good beef flavour. The wedge potatoes were cool and soggy. For the quality it is too expensive. Wow! This place over delivered. Here on a Sunday afternoon. Pretty quiet. Service was friendly and the food came out fast!! My husband had the Thai beef burger, I had the Hawaiian. Wednesday afternoon, my boyfriend and I went to Burger Heaven for lunch. It was our first time, and it certainly won't be our last. We both ordered "The Works Burger," and it was absolutely delicious; one of the best burgers I have ever had. The one regret I have is that I didn't order the cheddar and bacon bits add on to the wedge fries. While the burgers are on the pricey side (keeping on par with every restaurant in Vancouver), they are delicious, and very filling. You certainly don't go away hungry. Note: they serve Pepsi, not Coke, which is a disappointment, but they have ginger ale! If you do go to Burger Heaven, though, avoid sitting at the front. It's an old building, and the floor slopes quite noticeably. We were initially seated at the front but requested to be moved as I was leaning forward quite significantly, enough to be uncomfortable. read more

It's better in the larger version (not the side) as you get larger rings. Not a fan of the regular salad as a side, there's a lot of it to eat. I might try the soup instead. The insanity burger was enjoyable to eat. Instead of burger buns, there are grilled cheese sandwiches encasing the insides. I only had half, but I had trouble finishing it with two sides. One of the rare delicious eats that I've found in the neighbourhood, Burger Heaven serves up some great patties between buns. I decided to make my own burger and got the Heaven Sent Beef Burger with a white bun, carmelized​ onions, and bacon, and wedges on the side. Heaven sent a huge burger and I had to cut it in half to avoid making a huge mess by making a slightly less huge mess. The patty was very juicy and flavourful; the tomatos and lettuce looked and tasted quite fresh. The onions were really carmelized and were a bit sweeter than I expected. The bacon was less crispy than I expected also. I would recommend getting the fried egg or trying the guacamole​ instead. The wedges were plentiful and went great with some pepper and salt. I got to try some of their yam fries, but they were too burnt and bland. I'm glad my friend got some mayo too, but that couldn't save those yam fries. I also shared the vanilla milkshake and it was really delicious. I would highly recommend the vanilla or the chocolate flavour. Great way to cut through the greasiness of the burger. We stopped by for dinner over the weekend. We seated ourselves as directed by a server. A high chair was available for our child. We ordered the works burger, a heaven sent cod burger and a milkshake. Two out of the three items were fantastic. The works burger with wedges was the best item out of the three. You cannot go wrong with cheese, bacon and mushroom on a beef patty. The potato wedges were pretty good. The milkshake was creamy and full of blended strawberry goodness. It was more than enough to share between the three of us. Unfortunately, I was slightly disappointed with my cod burger. It was battered and fried perfectly but lacked flavour. It seemed like the chef forgot to season the fish. I needed extra tartar sauce to add flavour back into the fish patties. The potato bacon soup was very salty which made the fish taste bland in comparison. The bun, lettuce and tomato were fresh. It was just the fish was disappointing. Next time I will stick to a beef burger. Covid precautions were in place. Hand sanitizer was available. Contact information was collected for tracing purposes. Staff wore face masks. However, though they do boast a wider selection of toppings for their burgers, their treatment of the ingredients is typical. Nothing special. Their patty was okay. Not dry. A bit moist from being cooked with mushrooms. Mushrooms added a bit of umami. But the patty lacked a charboiled flavour. It's just tastes like beef. I find most expensive burger places overpriced but here we certainly got what we paid for. I just had a simple burger and it was complete with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. It also came with some really good wedge fries . It was $17 which I find too expensive for a burger but it is what it is and it was way better than your average burger. I ordered a burger (comes with side salad or wedges) to go since I worked a crazy 9 hour shift and wanted to get home soon. Generic bun, but cant really fault them for that. Topped with the tiniest piece of lettuce. Oh egg was also burnt and although avocado was ripe there was just a ball of it in the centre. So none at all with each bite and then a huge amount in one bite :( Reading this you may be wondering WHY did I eat it? Burger was super tastey and they use high quality meat and other items. After my son's first bite he said, "I LOVE this burger!" Been wanting to try this place for many years. Finally got a chance to try it. To be honest I had to ask if the meat patties were home made or store bought, the flavour wasn't there for the meat. A little off to be honest. Soggy bottom bun also. Once all put together the Burger wasn't too bad but also not worth $27. We shared the hulk burger & the grilled Hawaiian sandwich. Sides were onions rings, caesar salad & wedges. Drinks were Pepsi & a strawberry shake. My fiancé and I agreed that the onion rings were the best part of the entire meal. I think that's pretty sad considering the bill was $65 for 2 people. Won't be returning anytime soon for just ok food. Red Robin is more flavourful and cheaper but at least we can say we finally tried the place. read more

If we were basing our review simply on food quality, Burger Heaven would warrant a 5-star review because the burgers are some of the best I've ever had. These burgers are extremely rich and consistent, yet slightly greasy at the same time. No fries, but potato wedges to compensate - I don't think most people are in favour of that decision. The main issue I have with Burger Heaven is how pricey it is. $18 - $20 for a burger and some wedges is ludicrous if you ask me. Yes the food is good, but at the end of the day, most people can't be (consistently) spending $20 on a burger, no matter how tasty it is. We've always enjoy having dinner at the Burger Heaven, however, not a great experience tonight. We called ahead to reserve a table, arrived within 10 mins and placed our order. 45 mins later, the waitress came and told us the bill was lost so it will be another 15 mins wait (there were no customers coming to the restaurant after us, except the skip dish drivers came to pick up the orders). Finally both burgers arrived shortly after 10 PM, the sauté onion was cold, assuming the cooks were rushing to make our food as fast as they can since our order was lost. We quickly finished our burger because the restaurant was closed at 10, the bill came, $79 for the two of us. We do not expect to have the meal for free but would be nice if she would show some apology by removing a glass of beer or even a side order of the onion ring. The service was horrible. We waited forever to get water and our orders taken. It took even longer to get our burgers. I pretty much already knew what I wanted but the server was so busy she just sat us down and left us. The burgers were find the night of but it tasted a lot better the next day when it was reheated. It's probably because it's been sitting on the pass for a while and cool down before getting to us. To claim to have the "best burgers in town" right on the door gives a restaurant a lot to live up to. (Kind of like taglining your province, "The Best Place on Earth.") Burger Heaven manages to deliver one tasty burger and a fine milkshake to go with it, although I'm not sure that it's head and shoulders above places like Vera's. The atmosphere is unique - a mixture of booths, lattice, a heckuvalot of potted plants, and collages of pictures everywhere of customers enjoying their burgers. They also have a patio that in summer has vines twining around the wrought iron enclosure, but it now looks a bit creepy in the dead of November. In the hallway outside the tiny washrooms - painted red, with more plants - there was a cartoonish mural of the very restaurant I'd just left behind, plus a groovy old Rainier beer ad. As might be expected, Burger Heaven does serve some amazing and unusual concoctions forged out of meat, bun, and toppings, including the Ernie's Mile High - eight patties plus cheeses, mushrooms and bacon. I don't know how you even eat that, logistically speaking; I have enough trouble delivering one patty to my mouth without making a mess. Very much like pizza, you can choose from one of their combos, from classic cheddar cheese and bacon to Greek or Hawaiian, or build your own burger out of a chicken, beef or veggie patty and whatever toppings your clogged arteries heart desires. I went with a little Mexican on my burger with some salsa, guac, and jack cheese. It was served with a pile of homemade wedge fries. So after living in New West for almost four months now, and having a neighbour from hell that keep me awake on work night, I was too tired to cook last night, so DH and I popped over to Burger Heaven to see what all the fuss was about. The fuss was about the fact that, quite frankly, they are the best burgers Dh has had in Canada and the best "meatless" burger I've had in my entire life. Do not take the latter lightly. Not only am I not a vegetarian, but I happen to have a favourite Black Bean Burger that has reigned surpreme in this category for over 10 years! Whenever I see an interesting veg alternative at a burger joint, I'm intrigued. And by "interesting" I mean hand crafted, not processed. And that, my friends, is exactly what I got here. I can't even recall everything that was in my meatless wonder. Bulgar, rice, mushrooms, light mozzarella... seasonings. Anyway, I topped that puppy with bacon, blue cheese, and caramelized onions. I bet that gave the chefs in the back a raised brow or two - bacon and a meatless burger? Anyway, the burger was nothing short of FANTASTIC. So for all you bacon-and-meat-eating-veggie-burger-eaters out there? Give it a shot. I promise, you will NOT be disappointed. FWIW: DH made his own too - Swiss, Mushrooms, and Bacon on the standard gigantic burger. He said it was juicy and delicious if a little heavy. ONE FLAW? This place is definitely one of the best burger places I've been to in the GVRD. Wayyyyy better than Vera's Burgers. I had the Works Burger with a side salad. The works comes with everything you can think of being good on a burger! It was too much for me to eat in one sitting, but the leftover half was still good the next day! I wouldn't go boasting it's a gourmet burger or anything, but it was pretty damn tasty. The salad was really good too. Didn't leave a speck of it on the plate! This place is a little out of the way for me since I don't live in New West, so this will jade my review somewhat. Was it good? Yup Was it great? Nope In perspective, this is just a burger joint. Nothing fancy, and it serves a purpose. Feeds a hunger. I have moderate expectations for establishments like this. If there was any beef (no pun intended) against this place, it would be that it is a bit more pricey, not by much, than other similar burger joints. Would I come again?
