I was there yesterday to update my bar and spent $117. Clearly disabled dragging my my right foot as I was pushing the buggy with my cane in it. When trying to leave I backed into the heavy door with the buggy and was having a real struggle trying to get out. Two store employees were sitting nearby watching me with no effort to help. I couldn't believe my eyes! From now on I will use their competitor across the highway where I buy a tequila that Beverage Depot doesn't have. They are very price competitive. When I go in there, they get the door for me going in and out which is much appreciated. I had thought Beverage Depot had such a bigger selection but I actually buy the same things that are available across the highway as well at competitive pricing. I don't remember the store's name as I just go to it but it is directly across I-30 from Beverage Depot. In fact I had to Google to get the name of Beverage Depot to write this as I just know where it is. I hope they enjoyed that $117 yesterday because it is the last dime they will ever get from me. read more

This store has the largest selections and best prices of any wine and liquor store in the Dallas area. The selections are organized by types on multiple aisles and in refrigerators surrounding the store. They also have a frequent shopper program that is linked to your telephone number. Once you sign up, by providing your telephone number, you receive notifications of sales, discounts and coupons via text messages. The location is good, being that it is just off I-30. However, the parking lot is a freaking nightmare! The parking spaces are very close, one parking area spills into busy traffic, another impede through traffic on the premises and the pedestrians walk as if they can withstand being run over by a motorist. The long lines move at a fast and steady pace, so be ready when the cashier yells NEXT! There are plenty of lines to accommodate the many Customers. Also, there is a very funny wall of shame posted by the door. It is a collage of images of those who contributed to driving up prices by stealing alcohol from the store. Although I'm not sure how they got passed the guy sitting high in the ceiling near the door, maybe he was on break. Overall, this is the go to Liquor Store if your stocking your home bar or preparing for a party. read more

I tell you what I love about this place - their cheap prices! There's a Sigel's liquor store right down the road from me but I don't shop there because I've compared their prices and they are much higher than Beverage Depot. I did find a place that was cheaper than this place - Total Wine & More. I brought in an ad with me and asked if they did price matching and much to my chagrin, they said no! Total Wine & More had their Patron on sale for $1.50 less but I would've spent that much (or more) in gas by the time I drove out to their nearest location. Don't expect anything fancy in this place - that's how they keep their overhead low. Their floors are made of concrete and can be uneven in spots so if you happen to be wearing high heels (for you ladies out there), and carrying bottles in your hands, take care not to trip! Also, the lighting is pretty dark towards the back of the store where they have the wines. As for location, be forewarned - this place is located in a VERY seedy part of Dallas. I usually take only my I.D., debit card and keys when I go in - everything else stays hidden under the back seat of my car. Some of the clientele might make you wanna look over your shoulder so I would recommend going during daylight hours. Once when I drove in, there was a police car parked sideways at the edge of the parking lot keeping an eye on things. On my latest excursion, I went on a Monday after work and not only was it not packed and parking was plentiful, there were actually people in business attire shopping there (which is a rare site if you know this place). One other thing worth mention, my ex's girlfriend stopped by here on a Friday night to pick up some stuff and as she was backing out to leave, some guy smashed in her passenger window and made off with her purse, cell phone, etc! She's lucky she didn't get car jacked. Like I said, best to shop here during the day and keep your valuables hidden out of sight! read more

This is a very BUSY liquor store no matter what time of day you are there. Due to the location, I only visit during the day. The parking lot is tight not much wiggle room or room for error which some people do not understand. If you can, park far from the door and walk in. What you will find when you walk in the door, a man sitting up front greeting people and watching the store from a higher up vantage point and an expansive store with something for everyone and a HUGE selection. I'm a bourbon drinker, and I was very pleased with their selection. As far as prices, some prices were really great and a few select bottles were more expensive than other places. I will note that the more expensive bottles were the more rare bourbons. There may be some dust on the bottles, but what matters is what's inside. My overall impression and experience in this store was nothing short of great. Everyone, from customers to the staff, in the store was incredibly nice and polite. I was surprised solely because that level of courteousness is not often experienced anymore. I did not have any problems with prices at check out, but I saw a gentleman in the store that did. . .to my surprise the advertised sale price (on the neon colored sale sticker) was not honored at checkout so he did not purchase the bottle. It was a lose, lose for both parties. Know what you are buying and the price, so there won't be any problems. If the store won't honor the advertised price, don't give them the business. read more

Down Samuell you are not limited by liquor stores. I would say you have a plethora of choices, El Guapo. I, for one, always choose beverage depot. It's not shiny and new like Total Wine, but it works. Prices and selection are reasonable. The staff is helpful and nice. It gets busy, so be patient with parking and courteous when lined up for a register. I will usually pick up some whiskey and beer here. It would be good to see their local beer selection improve. They have some, but don't carry as many as they could. I also wish they had more wines to choose from at better prices. I suppose the neighborhood doesn't buy their fine wine here. Customer service is horrendous. The bald-headed owner's name is Sean and he is 100% lacking in customer service. Sean consistently goes out of his way to be unnecessarily rude. After one episode where he was very rude to my wife, I asked him why he is always so rude to his customers. I asked him if he had us mistaken for someone else, or if we had offended him in some way in the past, since every encounter we've had with him was terrible. Sean only became belligerent, and instead of apologizing, he told us not to come back, and to shop somewhere else. My wife was simply asking if they had a bottle of Parker's Heritage Heavy Char in the locked cabinet, where they have all their allocated bourbons horded away. He sarcastically said, "Do you see it there?" There were several bottles of Parker's Heritage, but the view of the bottles in the back were blocked by the bottles directly in front, of which were not the right variation of Parker's. Sean then said, "I don't know what you are talking about." and ignored us. Absolutely no desire to try and assist a customer. A typical interaction with Sean. The standards at the Samuel Rd. store are at an all time low. The store is run down and filthy, you will know this immediately as you come into contact with the filthy front door. You run the gauntlet in the parking lot trying to get through all the panhandlers, just to be crapped on by Sean once inside. There is typically someone perched high inside the front door, looking down upon the customers. On the last few visits Sean has spoken down to us without a face mask on. The store used to have good prices, but recently the bourbon prices have gone through the roof, from double priced, to 10 times MSRP or more for the allocated bourbons. Sean's greed is on full display with one look at the prices on the bottles in his locked up cabinet, next to his office. Gouging 101. His prices are now way above the secondary market. Sean makes sure it is always a miserable shopping experience, when it doesn't have to be. If you are okay with being treated terrible in an unsafe and sketchy environment then this is your store. read more

Terrible Terrible. Went in to buy liquor for a gathering and was planning on spending $300- $400 on whiskey and tequila. When I went to check out 5 out of 6 bottles rang up nearly $20 more a piece. After I spoke with the owner about this, we walked back to all the labels and confirmed the the price marked was cheaper than the system. His response was "the pricing in the system is always right" and so I suggested him taking the posted price down and he stated "no, they are fine thank you" and stormed off. My husband and I tried several different liquor store in the area but price and selection wise you can't beat this place. coming from Southern California, I'm used to buying liquor at grocery store for decent price. I had a rude of wakening when I found out how the system works here. I live in Lancaster (semi dry county) so we have to drive to Dallas to get real liquor (No beer or wine). On special occasions I like to drink a little alcohol. Well, almost any day you can find special occasions. So, if you find your self a little thirsty, Head to Beverage Depot. HUGE Selection of every liquor on earth. Serious. Most importantly, the prices are the best in town. No joke, You will not find a lower price. I will travel past 3 or 4 other liquor stores because of the incredibly low prices. BD could certainly use a paint job. Maybe even some new flooring. The point is that the prices are so low I do not even notice the decor. It's not in the best neighborhood either. (I-30 and Winslow/ East Grand) So lock your doors, Roll up those windows and get ready to save. First time going to a liquor store since we moved here 2 months ago. Nice selection but I'm afraid a lot of their product wasn't displayed orderly or taken care of. A lot of bottles I was interested in had sludge and or dust on them, like thick dust. I picked up a bottle of ready to drink Margarita and got brown syrup all over my hand. Kind of a turn off. It's got such a large selection you'll be in here for about 20 mins plus If u don't know exactly what ur looking since it's so scattered. Some of their specials were decent with vodka but I didn't notice any deals on tequila which is what we really wanted. I have save as much as $10 on many brands such as Tito's and Absolute in comparison to other stores. They have a huge selection, they are always packed but they get you out fast. When it comes to liquor stores, there's really only one thing that differentiates one from the other in my book: price. And nowhere in Dallas are the prices lower than at Beverage Depot. I have friends in the business, and even they are amazed at how cheap the booze is here. I have friends that have moved out of the 'hood, but they always grab a few bottles when they're in E. Dallas before making the slog back up the tollway to suburbia. The only way to sell so cheap is to sell HUGE amounts of the stuff, and that's what this place does. On any random weekend night, expect to jockey for a parking space, then endure a small wait to check out. They always have several registers open however, and I've never waited more than 5 minutes to be rung up. On holidays, all I can say is get there early, as I've seen a line extending out the entrance. As others have mentioned, some consider this part of town to be a little sketchy (I don't), and this is illustrated by the employees on ladders with sunglasses keeping an eye out for shoplifters. I've never felt unsafe here, and actually haven't ever heard of any incidents either. This just happens to be the closest liquor store to my house, but even if it wasn't, I would still make the drive if I needed to buy more than one bottle. It's worth it. read more

Good selection, but watch the cashier. I used to buy beer there at least once a month. I went in today and paid for my purchase with a debit card as usual. The cashier told me to hit one on the pad and enter my PIN. I did as I have a hundred times before. She told me that I had entered a cashback on the purchase and wanted to know how much. I said I didn't want cash back. She said too late, that I was getting thirty dollars back and it was going to cost me two bucks. I have enough in the bank to cover the surprise, and the two dollar fee isn't going to kill me, but after many years, I'm never going back. read more

This place has good prices but if you expect to be treated with any common curtesy, forget it. After spending at least 200-300 per month in this store, I will never be back. I am a 67 year old very small framed Female. I asked for help loading 300 dollars worth in my car and was refused service. They also will not let you use their restroom, instead they send you to a very nasty gas station, next door. I will take my monthly business across the street where my business is appreciated And I'm treated like the elderly lady that I am. I sincerely hope someone from another state does not think this is how any business in Dallas and Texas treats their customers, with such rudeness. They are a disgrace to the city and the state! Terrible experience I brought my grandmother to shop in this establishment and was met at the door by a guy who was very rude and unprofessional. He said that I could not bring my backpack into their location however on the door it says that large bags and backpacks are subject to search I offered him the opportunity to search my bag before entering the store. I asked for The owners name and he said he did not know I walked over to a plexiglass booth and spoke with the owner again offering to show the contents of my backpack. The owner went on to say that it was a rule for everyone so that no one says that they were racially profiled. At the end of his explanation he said that I was welcome to stand at the front door while my grandmother shops. While standing at the door I took a photograph of my backpack and of a lady shopping with a large bag I even brought it to the attention of the guy at the door his explanation was, she's a woman and she can carry her Bag at that point I reminded him of the policy on their front door and that point he begin to get confrontational and rude it was almost like he wanted me to give him a reason to throw me out he also begin to make threatening remarks it was clear he wanted a confrontation. He saw me taking a photograph of the ladies bag and of my backpack for this post. He stood up and said you better not be taking a picture of me while walking toward me as my grandmother finished checking out he started walking toward me at the door making comments my comment was he better not walk up on me and he better not touch me that was a very sad environment and I definitely won't bring my grandmother there again. If you look at the photos you can see the size of my backpack and the size of the bag the lady was carrying in the store with no problem. I'm assuming that the manager or owner Sean will not take care of this issue in regards to his employee because he never came over to address the commotion. read more

I'm from Minnesota and this disrespectful arrogant "manager" said who's paying and i said I am so my cousin, and best friend showed him their ID and then I showed him mine and he said my friend, cousin and my ID was fake! The entire time he had a ID scanner to verify all IDs but he neglect to follow the proper protocol. Worst experience in my life ever!
