The entire experience from the jump was great, it's a welcoming space with calming sounds and essential oil diffusers that set the mood as you enter the spa space. The bedding and blankets were actually a surprise and I was a little nervous as it's hard for me to relax sometimes.. Lola fixed that! Matt greeted me promptly at 7:00 a.m. and prepped me, always his usual, courteous yet friendly self. His administration of novocaine was painless and he explained and double checked the procedure. Dr. D. then did the same, explaining each step as we went along while both he and his assistant kept me well rinsed and as comfortable as possible throughout. Visual scans confirmed everything that had been done and any questions I had were answered quickly and expertly. I have had some traumatic dental experiences in the past elsewhere, so was slightly hesitant going in. My family of 4 has been seeing the team at Parkway Dental for over a decade, though, so I know firsthand that they are beyond competent. They actually CARE about their patients. At no time did I feel unsafe or uncared for. I was even given a lovely fleece blanket that proved to be a great calming agent. Truly, though, it is their professionalism and compassionate care that shepherded me through. I go back in about a week for my permanent crowns and am actually looking forward to it!

I asked questions about certain things and I got a lot of umms and oh's. she didn't really seem like she knew enough to make me feel comfortable with having hers as my Dentist. Then another lady came in and discussed pricing. By this time it was 10:45 and I hadn't even gotten my teeth cleaned yet. I had no idea it would take that long, so I rescheduled the cleaning. When I got there to have the cleaning done, the receptionist informed me that it would cost me extra money upfront for the laser treatment. He said it wasn't necessary but they recommended it. I said no thank you. Then he also said that will be another $35 upfront for the fluoride and once again I said no thank you. My instincts told me to leave because that's the second time I was made to feel like I didn't belong there. I canceled all upcoming appointments and made arrangements to go to another dentist. I was looking into my billing on my HealthPartners account. They're charging me $533 for the panoramic x-ray which I was never told that that was not included in what my insurance pays for. Why would they inform me that I would have to pay extra for laser treatment and the fluoride and they can't tell me that it's gonna cost an extra $533 to do the panoramic x-ray. My new Dentist is only charging 250 for the panoramic x-ray. I think it's wrong of them to handle it the way they did and I'm pretty sure I will be stuck paying that, but I don't think it's fair that I have to.
