I have been a customer of Beverly's for many years. When I booked my Pedicure & Manicure for today I was not told they no longer occupy there spa facilities. The pedicure was done on a spa bed using a basin of water for what normally would have been a spa chair with a jacuzzi foot bath. There was no spa music or was the room relaxing environment. The short manicure was pretty much the same. What was amazing to me the price Was not reduced or any apology made by the owner for the lack of informing me of this very reduced service. First time in a nail salon since covid so was nervous. It was my 60 birthday so my daughter wanted us to get our nails done. I was very impressed as we were in a private room and each had our own two estheticians. They wore masks and gloves. My only negative comment is they didn't have a grey or large choice of polished. I usually get chrome and nail art and they don't offer either. Just plain polish and not even many were sparkly. They did a very good job on trimming cuticles and trimming and buffing. read more

I was the last client of the day, closed the shop down, realizing the very next morning I left an extremely important (to me) piece of jewelry in the pocket of my robe. Immediately called the spa the next morning with exact details on where it was - and nothing. I had to follow up several times, so little action - just, sorry, it's gone. Of course jewelry misplaced is not their liability, but how the staff conduct themselves taking a situation seriously and doing all they can to address, certainly is. This is my first experience at Beverly the spa on 4th. I came here with my good friend for a couple massage. We arrived pretty early to fill out some paper work. The front desk lady asked if we wanted to use the steam room or if we wanted to lounge. I asked if we can used the stream room. She got that ready for us and as we finished our paper work we headed upstairs to the woman's locker room. They had lockers and provided us with clean robes, sandals, towels and products. This was very lovely, my friend and I are very use to the come in get massage and leave. So this experience was very enjoyable and relaxing! After our steam we sat in the lounge had some water and our massage ladies came to get us. The massage was very lovely we had a Swedish with oil. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable massage. With some hot towels. I highly recommend this spa! It was a pleasant surprise and the price was affordable. I will come back and try other services That this spa offers. read more

My kind hearted significant other treated me to a couples massage here today. We turned up early to use the steam room; other than being given a form and told to fill it out after using the steam room coupled with a brief explanation as to where the changing rooms were we were left alone. Staff didn't seem to have their s**t together as when we emerged the forms had disappeared and resulted in the 2 massage therapists having to find them and then stand chatting whilst we filled them out (hint: not conducive to a relaxing environment) The steam room was nice. The massage itself was ok but neither therapist was particularly friendly. I was hoping to leave feeling relaxed but despite explaining that a few areas were tender, the therapist was a rougher on these areas than i found comfortable and overall the massage didn't flow as well as i would liked. After the massage was finished i headed back to the ladies changing room to grab a shower and found it wasn't possible to do so as the shower room which is adjacent to the steam room was 'in use for men's steam'. So i had to get dressed and step back into the world with oily hair from the neck/lower scalp massage.Trust me when i say that being covered in oil and having to get dressed and step back into 25 degree summer heat is not comfortable. Instead of feeling rejuvenated i felt greasy and disappointed that the sweet gesture my fiance made was ruined by the lack of attention to detail. It's the small things that make a huge difference with an experience like this and as Beverly's don't appear to pay attention to them, it makes a first time customer like me dismissive at the thought of returning. read more

Beverly's is a decent spa right near Bishop's, in the heart of 4th Street. The estheticians are quite good, and the back room for manicures is good for up to four people to get pedicures and/or manicures done. The "chill/lounge area" upstairs where you wait is furnished ok, but it's not particular comfortable or conducive to staying for long periods of time. The spa also emphasizes quietness - great if you are a single person there, but difficult to manage if you are a group (and they will get mad if you are loud). The pedicure I got is three weeks and counting without a single chip, so they do a good job, but $80 for a pedicure when you can spend $90 at Spa Utopia and spend the day (and enjoy the steam rooms), is a bit high. read more

Worst mani pedi I've ever had and it definitely wasn't the cheapest. Colour was uneven, 'outlines' were rough and top coat didn't cover all the colour. Starting flaking off pretty much that day. Had a facial as well that didn't do anything for me other than add an extra bit of relaxation to my day. Today I went to the spa for pedicure and manicure. My daughter had given me a gift certificate for a day to spoil myself. 1. The young ladies in attendance including the receptionist were helpful and friendly. 2. The pedicure was professional and quite thorough. 3. I regret to say that the manicure was less than satisfactory. She offered to retouch the "sides" of the nails that were all missed when I pointed it out to her. My answer was "no". If you cannot do it right the first time you are not entitled to waste my time by retouching. I go regularly to Star Nails on West Boulevard. The girls are excellent, the service almost impeccable and they do it for half the rates of Beverly's. I am a very generous tipper by nature but there was no way I could tip the manicurist. The WORST experience ever. After spending $300 left the place crying!!! Ladies at reception are clueless about what customer service is!!! ( Amelia and Yulia mani and pedi ladies are nice and did a good job.) The rest was a joke! Lady at reception was asking if I had a receipt for my gift card... and then was going to let me go home with the scratched toe nail. I ended up fixing it myself at the reception! Had a wonderful relaxing wax and pedicure today with Amanda. She's worked there for 7 years and was very professional and friendly. She seems very engaged in her job and providing the best service that she can. She gave me good advice on polish colours to match my bridesmaid dress as well. My only suggestion is to ensure that the front desk staff clarify what type of pedicure you are booking in for. I thought I could clarify that I wanted a 30 minute pedicure when I got there, but I ended up getting a 60 minute pedicure. It was a delightful experience that I don't regret, and it was probably my fault for not clarifying the time I wanted. read more

Hands down, the worst facial I've ever had. It was like getting slapped with sandpaper for 75 minutes. There was not a moment of relaxation and my skin has been reacting ever since. My facialist was extremely aggressive with my skin, kneading it like a back massage, including around the eye area. I'm not even sure where to start. She was sick and sniffing the whole time and yet breathing in my face. We started 15 minutes late even though I could see her walking around the whole time prior. I had a 15 minute massage to start. She walked in, literally pulled the sheet down to almost my knees, exposing my whole back side and started elbowing me in the back. No slow progression, no "is this comfortable for you". It was painful (not in a good or purposeful way) and actually injured my shoulder blade. Likewise, when she asked me to turn over, lifting the blanket from the top of the bed and exposing me, there was no concern for comfort. She began applying a similar approach to my face as she had to my back. I asked her if she could be more gentle on my face and she responded that she was just cleaning it really thoroughly. This continued for the rest of the facial. My sister and I both considered asking for refunds because of how shockingly bad this was particularly given how expensive it was. My main concern is that during the facial, they apply micro currents to the face for a significant amount of time. I only hope the aestheticians have proper training for that portion. I received a gift certificate for the seaside scrub/shower which I went for today. This was my first time at this spa and it was a terrible experience. My 'body/skin therapist' was really young and inexperienced and appeared annoyed that I showed up for the appointment. I re-read what the treatment is supposed to include when I arrived home as I thought it was missing a massage element. My 'therapist' barely rubbed the lotion in, it was just a light smooth-over. Her gentle touch was more from lazy/disengagement than on purpose as I thought when the treatment began. When she finished applying to my body, she abruptly removed my eye cover without warning and said "a facial scrub is included, do you want it?". I replied yes, and she proceeded to give me the quickest weakest scrub with what I'm sure was a small drop of product. The interior of the spa also leaves a lot to be desired - all the hair brushes were in the "to be cleaned" jar and it seems that no effort is put into keeping the space current. When I came out to pay/leave, the front desk staff were applying their make-up with the display products and didn't even ask about my service. Such a huge disappointment to something I was looking forward to all week. I'm disappointment for my friend as well who spent $95 incl/tax on this gift. read more

Firstly, the sales staff at the front desk simply didn't seem genuine. They also seem to mess up the payment a lot...Every time I went there, there has been a problem at the cashier, whether they charged me incorrectly or didn't record the date correctly or gave me a facial that I did not ask for. The facial itself was alright. Went back twice, and was not happy with my results. (I broke out more then before) That being said, my last facial with Doris G was fabulous, she really assessed my skin well and told me lots of tips and gave explanations. My skin was glowing when I left, and I felt decent enough to present my bare face to the public rather then go home and wash everything off.(there is a shower at the spa, but it looks dodgy haha) The decor at the spa is dated. The rooms are not fancy and beautiful like a spa that price should be. The robes are very soft and fluffy and the havianas flip-flops are nice, there is infused water offered which is nice. But be warned that the towels (that they wash your face with) are rough.. not soft, but its bearable. Doris is amazing! She really cares for her clients, puts a lot of effort in, and she gave me product recommendations (that I trust) and samples too! She's the only reason I would go back. read more

I went here for the first time with a gift card I'd been given. It's a beautiful space very tranquil & serene environment. I chose to get a manicure and was very happy with my service. My manicurists name was Sharon and she was lovely. She did a very thorough job and really took her time to make sure my nails looked their best. We had a great conversation the whole time. My one peeve about this place... I went in with gel Polish on my nails. Now most places I'd been to don't charge you for the removal if you're getting a manicure with them but this place charged me for it which I was not too pleased with. I came in today with my significant other for a couples massage and for the first time having a massage, the experience was amazing! The two masseuses were super nice and made us feel comfortable! By the time we finished our massage, we were way to relaxed to get up. We were also lucky to experience the steam room after the massage and it was the icing to our cake! It had a nice scent in the steam room but my boyfriend didn't like it. Perhaps next time we could choose if we wanted a scent in the steam room or not? This experience exceeded by expectations and I'm impressed with the professionalism and the cleanliness of this spa! Also the price was amazing for the experience we had, while other places were ridiculously pricey. The reasons why I put 4 stars instead of 5 were because 1. My boyfriend did not know what do to when the receptionist brought him to the men's changeroom. She escorted him there then left while she showed me where I can put my things and what I should do. I have been coming to this spa for over 8 years (inconsistently I must admit) but every experience I have had the spa staff have treated me with respect and dignity. I have had a couple facials, a Vichy seaside scrub and a few mani and pedi combos. Although this spa isn't anywhere close to where I live I make the trek every time. I have found that although there are closer places for similar prices, many claim to be "spas" yet lack on staples such as soothing, relaixng and comfortable. I went for the vichy shower and the facial. The vichy was a good experience, but the water and soap came in my eyes and face, had to constantly turn away, and my nose was hurting. The facial was not good, afterwards (after 1 day) I got a rash on more than half my face, probably because the esthetician put a too strong peel on my face and too hot towel in red room light without the magnifier on, so she didn't realize my face type was sensitive, she didn't even ask. So after few days my skin still feels irritated and doesn't look smooth at all, my natural condition of my face looked much better. I hope it heals soon. :( read more

Love my neighbourhood spa- I have been using Beverly's for 5 years and I think I look younger and i am certainly am well groomed now. (no more monkey feet).The staff are always friendly but know when i don't want to chat or when I want to chat up a storm. As a redhead I have had some bad experiences with facials at other spas -not anymore they understand sensitive skin and I am hooked. My fiancé and I went for a spa treatment today at beverlys. I got a facial and my fiancé got a massage. My therapist Amelia gave one of the best facials I've had ever. Being a esthetician myself for over eight years, I truly noticed the professionalism that she brought to my service. Loved that she told me of the products she was using and treated my skin properly as it has been very sensitive lately. Didn't use the steam room but would love to next time. Right off the bat I'm in love with all the smells. Its always nice to be soothed the moment I walk into a spa. Although I haven't actually had any spa services, I have really grown to depend on the jane iredale makeup. It's exactly what I was looking for. The receptionist, Madeline, proved to be very helpful. My review is based on a Guinot facial that I had with Doris a few months back. It was outstanding. She was a true professional and I left with noticeably improved skin. The front desk staff were really pleasant and managed to fit me in on very short notice. I was impressed with the overall experience. I had a glorious Eminence facial at Beverly's today. After, as a part of my package I had a mani/pedi. I will definitely go back for the facial, but I would skip the mani/pedi. My nails were cut far too short and my fingers are sore. They could use a bit of an update on the lounge/ waiting area as it's a little bit cramped when busy. Awful reception/booking service. I called and made a same day appointment. I cleared my schedule, cancelling other appointments for a massage because I was in pain. When I got there they told me they double booked the room and I could not receive a massage. They didn't bother to call me, despite knowing I was on my way there. So disappointed, as I could've made alternate arrangements if they had communicated. Even 10 minutes would've made a difference for a person in pain. read more

The only thing I would say is Beverley's could use an update on the decor upstairs and perhaps new mani tools/mani towels. 1 star given for the nice ladies (Amelia and Yulia) who gave the mani/pedi. Everything else was a nightmare. So I bought my mom some package with massage and mani/pedi and she came home quite literally in tears. The sales staff and cashiers were totally disrespectful and spent the entire time belittling my mother and made absolutely zero effort to facilitate a relaxing environment or a bare minimum level of customer service you would expect from a cashier at a corner store. She called in advance and provided the gift card number and confirmed everything with whoever was on the phone. When she was leaving she was questioned repeatedly about whether or not the gift card was paid for and asked for further proof of payment... obviously not very relaxing when it was about a $250 package. The two aforementioned ladies that took care of her nails said she was good to go and if anything got messed up on her way out or even at home they'd be happy to fix it for free if she came back. On her way out, some nail polish got nicked off of a toe and she asked the woman at the reception if she could ask the nice ladies to fix it really quickly before she left. Without hesitation the lady at the desk "helping" my mother kept repeating that they were very busy and didn't have time (there was not another person in sight the whole time my mom was there - but there was no arguing it was her way or the highway). My mom asked at least if she could grab the nail polish and fix it herself and the lady finally obliged and got her the nail polish. She offered my mom a seat on some high chair bar stool to touch up her own nail polish (not comfortable or remotely possible) at a $250 spa bundle. So there my mom was crouched in a corner of the reception area fixing her own nail polish because the lady at the front refused to even ask the girls upstairs if they could help out (like they kindly offered to) or god forbid actually insist that the girls do so in an attempt to provide a sliver of customer service. Those are just the highlights. The massage was sub par at best. Do yourself and a favour and save your money, buy your loved one something worth while. Terrible experience. read more

I booked my girlfriend and I a mani/pedi at this spa, I got there early and paid for our service before my friend got there the girl was very pleasant, she took me up to the waiting room, where there are 4 chairs and table, along with an island of strawberry water, and a few other drinks you are welcome to. The music was playing softly in the background. Our appointment was scheduled from 1:30 to 2:30 so my friend parked in the 2 hour parking across the street. We waited and waited and waited, it must have been 2pm before they took us in and by that time we had forgotten about the parking. The mani/pedi is a room that overlooks the alley with a small view of the mountains peaking over the top of the apartment buildings, the room has 4 pedicure chairs with remotes and are really quite comfortable, my friend is pregnant so her manicurist offered her a pillow which was nice. Both girl's were very professional and didn't talk to much but joined our conversation at times which was absolutely fine. There is a manicure table but we remained in our pedi chairs for the manicure which became a little awkward only because there isn't enough room for the girls to sit on both sides of the pedi chairs so my girl was on my left which was ok when she was doing my left hand but when I had to stretch across to give her my right hand it was a bit awkward and I wondered why we weren't moved to the table for this but we continued on. The manicure was pretty good, all nails were shaped to the same length and the col or was nice. When we were done we were moved to the seating area again to let our feet and hands dry before leaving, when we looked at the time while walking out the door it was 3:50 as we walked over to the car we could see there was a ticket on the windshield and sure enough it was, it was for 63.00 so that kind of put an end to our relaxing day as we had forgotten about the meter while we were in there and if we had been taken on time we would have been out by 2:30 with plenty of time left on the meter. When we got back to my friends place in North Van she realized that one of her nails was smudged already....disappointing and I noticed the next day a couple of my nails had little chips in them and one one of my toes, so I went to London Drugs bought the same color she put on and redid my nails again. Which was a bit disappointing for the money I had spent. The manicure and Pedicure were 144.00 per person so for that kind of money I would have expected a much stronger and more chip resistant finished product but that's the way it goes. Overall it was a good experience, it was very relaxing and the manicurists were very nice, would I go back again? I'm not sure if I would only because after spending that kind of money and having to buy my own polish the next day to go over it does seem a little disappointing... read more

My girlfriend and I had a good time today. I booked for a vichy shower treatment and then a 60min massage. The vichy shower was alright. Somehow the bed is not that comfortable for my neck. The treatment was done by Pero? and it was so so. I just had a feeling of sloppiness from her....However I really enjoyed my massage. Kaley did an amazing job. There were 4 different kinds of aromatherapy to pick from. Kaley has amazing hands. I've been to many massages and she did a wonderful job. After the treatment, my gf and I met up again and spent some time in the common area, which was quite nice. It is a very quiet day at the spa for us. I guess we lucked out. We spent some time in the steam room too and we pretty much had the whole spa by ourselves in the late afternoon, which was very very nice. read more

Beverly's is a trusted business located in Kit's for decades. I love going to this Spa and always receive great service from each of the staff. Worst service ever. I bought some very expensive makeup where the compact was damaged. I returned it to Beverly's within 2 weeks of purchase but when I was in the SPA, the receptionist told me that the manager was out of the store and to come back in a few hours. I returned, the manager resultantly said she would look into it and would email the company and let me know. The manager never called me back, so I went back into the SPA a week later. There were about 6 employees sitting around, seemed so uninterested in anyone who came in. I went over to the manager and asked her about my product and she said, "oh yeah, can't do anything about that." I forgot to call you. It was so obvious that my business was not needed and they couldn't careless about their customers. So, I left with my damaged product. read more
