This location has turned into a big , expensive 7-11 / convince store. Very overpriced, even compared to Lucky's which is just down the street. What happened to bev-mo? Now it's a no-go. There are way better deals on alcohol / beer right there in the neighborhood. Like, I'm really going to drive all the way out to that location that is difficult and crowded, so I can pay WAY more for beer than at Lucky's? This place is absurd. read more

This by far is my favorite BevMo in the world!!!! I've be in many and I don't even drink. So I don't know why the hell do I love it so much. It's the CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter what I'm looking for I can never find it. Boy do I love going down every isle saying ohhh that is what....is :) But it never fails whatever I'm looking for no clue where to start. The sales folks working in here are the best. Their always super helpful from getting what you need, to recommending other stuff to even giving you a great description of how it tastes. If you want a good variety of alcohol to choose from, definitely pay BevMo a visit. Unlike some places that only carry gift sets during the holidays, BevMo carries them year round. A great place to pick up a gift or grab a bottle of something before heading to a buddy's house. This store is clean, shelves are well stocked and there's ample parking...awesome! I ran into this store like a kid on his 21st birthday. SERIOUSLY. It was my 21st birthday and I decided on my trip back home to SF that I needed to buy alcohol, and lots of it. This place had everything I needed such as alcohol, colored alcohol, alcohol in a beer form, alcohol that girls tend to drink and they had containers for which to hold my alcohol in before I put it into my stomach. Did I mention this place sells alcohol? But on the real, the store was well kept and I found they had a lot of stock of items that I heard were good and that I needed to pick up in order to have an enjoyable 21st birthday party. I always go out of my way to shop at this one because all of the mid-week daytime gals always give me such great help in picking wines.... They are super cool and very down to earth. I really like that. Not those fancy-schmancy big name bottles of wine that EVERYONE knows, but these cute little obscure wineries. Cheap and Cheerful Wine is what I call it. I gotta give these guys 5 stars. While on a business trip a couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of tasting a Bluecoat Gin Martini. That was the best Martini I'd had in quite a while so I was intent on finding the Spirit so I could make my own in the comfort of my own abode. BevMo! to the rescue. We actually picked up a 750 mL bottle of Bluecoat Gin and we found a 1.75 L of Evan Williams Kentucky Bourbon which is supposed to be the best Bourbon with which to make a Mint Julep. Since our Kentucky Derby Party is coming up (May 1st, in case you're into horse races) we figured we'd get the booze now so we don't have to make the trip later. And service with a smile, too. This is one of the most poorly managed retail stores I've ever been to. I've come here on about 3 occasions and every time I thought the time BEFORE was just bad timing on my part. All 3 times only 2 people were working and the lines stretched to the back of the store...bells going off every 10 seconds indicating a customer requested help. Help they likely did NOT receive due to the only 2 people (if lucky) being at the register. I asked one of the two clerks what was up with the staffing and his response was (while laughing)"Oh, you should see this place on Friday nights and holidays. It's crazy!"...as if this wasn't something they felt they should or could do something about. IT'S CALLED EFFECTIVE STORE MANAGEMENT!! It's called planning and forecasting. While BevMo doesn't exactly have the reputation of being the cheapest of alcohol vendors, it certainly is up there with regards to selection and variety. Despite its rather isolated location at the far end of a ridiculously large parking lot opposite a Target, I think it's worth the drive from Hercules. There weren't too many patrons when I walked in, but then again it was a Friday afternoon (I promise I'm not an alcoholic). The staff was very friendly, and all of the products were laid out and organized in a very easy-to-find fashion. I found what I was looking for: a six-pack of the Weihenstephaner lager I had recently at Townhouse in Emeryville. I went to the checkout, signed up for a membership to get their lovely discounts, was flabbergasted by the stupid-high sales tax here in Contra Costa County (seriously, it's ridiculous), and was on my way. I'll definitely be returning when they have more of their wine sales. Great place. read more

What can i say...it's like an adult candy store. You can almost find any type of alcohol you want in this store. I usually go to the Albany store, which is closer to where I live, but since i was in the area, I decided to pop in to pick up a few things. The store is nice and clean like your typical Bevmo! Staff was helpful and friendly, so no complaints at all. This place is a great one stop shop if you're buying liquor for a party. The only other place I can think of that is better is Costco, but they don't have nearly as many options. Although, if Costco does carry the brand of liquor you like, it's so cheap to buy the big bottles they offer. read more

Went there for the first time tonight and was absolutely disgusted by the manager. The cashier asks a woman for ID as they have a policy that they must ask all those who look under 40 to show ID. The woman begins acting rude to the cashier and she asks for the manager. The MANAGER comes and completely makes the cashier look stupid in front of the rude customer and has the audacity to say "this is what you called me for?" when her own team member is trying to enforce the policy of their store!? I'm so disappointed a store would treat it's employees this way. To go as far as to humiliate an employee in front of a line of people. I would give this place 0 stars if i could. I was next in line and quickly checked out and saw the manager outside with two random people talking casually possibly on a smoke break like she didn't just publicly abuse an employee. There is a pandemic going on and it's especially hard for a minimum wage employee to deal with customers treating them poorly but to face this treatment from a manager... I hope she is fired. A particular shout-out to their huge selection of beers: domestic craft brews, and a wide international selection (as well as the routine industrial light lagers, for those who just /have/ to). General arrangement of the shelves is by country of origin, and most items have a card giving a brief, useful description of the product. A small portion of their selection, perhaps several dozen items, is available in the cooler. I was initially uneasy that so much of their stock was unrefrigerated and exposed to fluorescent light, but I've yet to encounter a skunky or over-the-hill bottle here. One downside: they apparently won't break six-packs, though many of the products are available only as single bottles. Their Club Bev card gives a modest discount on some items. read more

Not to happy with the service at this location...went in on 12/6/2015 around 830am there were a couple of workers in the front that didn't greet us kinda just gave us a cold stare until I greeted them. Don't get me wrong Bev Mo is great,this 1 star is for the service. He ignored me and went on about how I was dressed revealing and rolled his eyes and said "gonna get a lot of help like that". He didn't even budge and someone else had to come over and help me!! The customer service was great, But they got my order for an over $200 keg incorrect. No one called me, no one let me know what was going or had any type of communication, so I showed up to the store on my way out of town and they had to send me 30 minutes away to get the keg I ordered. Then he didn't give me discount on the keg (he said he did but it was only the 5% you get for being a club bev member anyway). I am running hours late now after waiting for the employee to call around to find the correct keg and driving in the opposite direction of my destination to pick up a keg I ordered weeks ago that should have been at my store 5 minutes from my house. Very disappointing and a really crappy way to start what should be my relaxing vacation. read more

I dont buy alcohol very often but I came to Bevmo to get some holiday drink supplies for my xmas party. I was greeted when I walked through the door and while I was texting my friend about what alcohol to get, one of the staff asked if I was looking for something in particular. The cashier convinced me to sign up for their bevmo membership (free btw) and I'm glad I did because I ended up saving some more money on the bottles I bought. yay :) read more
