I really do love my BevMo's. If you like a wide variety of drink, then this would be the place to go. I normally go to the one in Great Mall, but I was in San Leandro and am always looking for new places to review, so I decided to give this place a shot. It's really close to Bay Fair and let me tel you. I haven't been to Bay Fair in years. The whole area looks like it's been renovated and there are a bunch of new stores. I actually didn't feel like I was going to get shank with a prison tooth brush. Well, it was relatively early in the day, so who knows. They are well stock and I came here for some of Iceland's best. Einstok beer! It's really good and I've been meaning to buy some, instead of paying $10 bucks a bottle. This store is a little bit smaller than their other locations I've been to, but just because it's compact doesn't mean they lack in supplies. Nice, clean and very well stocked! This place is a little smaller than some BevMos like the one on Mowry, but I like it. Like with other Bevmos, they have a huge selection of liquor. From beer to wine to all the hard stuff, you want it, they got it (At least all the popular stuff). They have a larger selection of wines than beer here, so I would recommend this for the wine lovers. The beer section is respectable, but I have definitely seen bigger. All the staff are really nice and are willing to help out. I'll be back next time I need something! Note: They are currently out of Sluricane (1/19/2015). The white lady with glasses in there is very helpful and knowledgeable with where everything is located. The Asian lady with the big head and big forehead be careful for her if you're Black or Brown. She randomly lunged and touched my small bag and then asks if I would like for her to place my alcohol inside of my bag. She starts to move my personal belongings around as if she was making sure I didn't have any of their items in my bag. She really took her time sorting my things and moving them around my bag that consisted of two phones, car keys and AirPods. It made me feel uncomfortable. It almost felt as if she thought I had stole something. I come here a couple of times per year and this experience did not make me feel good. Please do cultural sensitivity training with that lady. I don't know why the store is paying that security guard at the front for being on his damn phone and saying rude comments. The women with the blue faded hair at the register was nice but she was really was just saying to ignore him. I don't understand the store dynamic when it comes to him and there customers. That security guard really pissed me and my partner off saying things under his breath. Maybe to help out is don't place him in front of products where customers trying to grab something's. Really nice addition to the neighborhood. I actually felt my home value increase when they flipped on the open sign! The customer service here is great and they have a pretty good selection of items. It is smaller than the typical store so I still go to Pleasanton for some of the more obscure things I am looking for. They do have a small refrigerated section so you can find some cheeses to go with that wine. They also have a good selection of minis you can stock up on before heading out to the airport. I was excited to find out those could go through security for a pre-flight beverage while you are waiting to board. I am very happy Bevmo has decided to take up residence in San Leandro. read more

Only in here briefly to find a special beer that I've only ever found at Pacific Catch. I was googling around and besides the internet, a Bevmo! website mentioned that they sold it there. So finally, found some time to check out this new location that's been built and I was genuinely surprised. Compared to all the stores around it in the plaza, Bevmo really stands out. The brights lights of the most expensive liquor you can see it through the door, through the beaming sunlight rays, it's that bright. Upon walking it, nobody greeted us but that's coo doesn't bother me. Notice that there was only one cashier, but the day was pretty slow. We walked straight to the back, thanks to the lovely and informative signs where the craft beers were and found the Lost Coast Brewery Tangerine Wheat Ale at the very bottom of the aisle. The 12 pack was cheaper than the 6 pack, especially with the member price (WHICH IS FREE TO SIGN UP). We just took a quick look around. Like others have previously mentioned, the location is a lot smaller than the Jack London one but I would have to say, it's looking pretty spiffy and classy inside. Their hours are opened early and closes later, especially in an area like that, it's good. There's a pretty decent selection of mini bottles, but I was bummed there wasn't any Grey Goose. But for the most part, I got in and out pretty quickly. If you're not a member, sign up since it's free and you get a completely better price. It'll take like 2 minutes of your time to sign a little card with your information and whaaaala, membership here you come! It's clean inside and I saw a blocked off section that might be for demonstrations, no mention of any. The shelves seemed well stock and bright lights. They do have a small section that sells fridge food, not to feed a family but just snack like bits. Some special caviar I saw a sign when I walked by, hummus from the corner of my eyes. They do have a fridge section for the classic beers in value packs that I saw from. Most of the wines and beers are within arms reach so no worries if you're not tall enough to reach. Very sweet to finally have a BevMo! so close to home now after having to make trips out to Pleasanton to pick up craft beer and wine. Admittedly though, this branch is on the smaller side and fairly limited in terms of wines...especially Old World. The beer selection is solid - not one of the better ones of the branches I've visited overall. I am just ecstatic. I went in there today hoping that they would have Green Chartreuse and they did! I've been obsessed lately with The Last Word Cocktail and I've finally decided to get all the necessary ingredients, so I can make it at home and use the new Coupe glasses I purchased from Williams-Sonoma for serving it. I could not find the Green Chartreuse in the liqueur area, so I asked one of the sales associate where it was. It was in the locked case, so he took one out for me, and he also helped me find Luxardo which is a maraschino liqueur from Italy. I asked him for suggestions for a good gin, as we are out, for my cocktail, and for making gin and tonic. He pointed out a few choices and I settled on Junipero Gin which is a craft gin made by Anchor Distilling! I'm so excited that I will finally be able to make my new favorite drink at home! This BevMo is small compared to the ones by Jack London Square and Pleasanton, but it seems to be well stocked. I came here last summer looking for St. Germain and they had it here too. Their wine selection is not that extensive, but that is probably due to space issues. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. Went in to the San Leandro BevMo to look for a certain Tequila the other day. The gentleman on the floor was sad to inform me they were sold out. He did offer a recommendation of a Tequila I never tried before and gave it a shot(literally and figuratively). I must say it was excellent! I was on the way to a party an didn't want to show up empty handed. The tequila was a hit at the party and I looked like a boss! I acted like I knew about it the whole time though..haha. This BevMo! is smaller than other branches I've seen. Still, they carried everything we were searching for. The store is well organized. Made what we were searching for quite easy. They sell other stuff besides beverages such as snacks and chocolates. Don't come here expecting to buy groceries though. Only complaint I have is the lines. We ordered about 12 items online. When we came to pick up the items, there was no staff member helping folks picking up their online orders. We had to line up at the regular check out lines. Felt sorry for the customers behind us because they had to wait for the clerk who was helping us. Took a good 10 minutes for the clerk to locate our boxes of online orders, and to go through the purchase to confirm everything was correct. Would have been smoother if there had been a separate employee assigned to the online pickup orders. Good thing the employee was polite. Everyone waited patiently. read more

If you're supposed to bring something to a party but don't drink, this is the sort of place you'd want to go for expert advice. The store carries many relevant kitchen items, many kinds of mixers and flavorings, small gifts, excellent greeting cards, etc. Of course if you're willing to bring "a respectable alcoholic offering" anyway for the rest of the crowd, the staff can help you select a fine wine or spirit your friends will definitely appreciate. Just be prepared to spend what it takes to obtain anything beyond the ordinary, and to go in knowing that "the very best" may be far beyond your reach... To beat BevMo for quality wines offered, you'd have to go to somewhere like Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant in Berkeley, where the owner is personal friends with many actual wine makers in France, Spain, and Italy, and visits some of them in person every year. read more

But my parents were in need of some wine and I wanted to help them out. It being a pandemic and all. So I called and someone actually answered right away and told me that I could order and it should be ready when the time said it would be ready. So I went online and ordered and about 10 minutes later a friendly women called and said one thing wasn't available and that she'd remove it. A few minutes after I got an email that it was ready for pick up. I showed up and stood in line (only two people ahead of me) and picked up my stuff safely. Easy transaction and quick. Highly recommend this location. But please keep in mind to social distance at this time while waiting in line. Give people their space! read more

There was store security outside, letting people in line in and out of the store. While he asked people in line if they wanted to disinfect their hands with a bleach solution he had, he said NOTHING to the woman behind us with NO MASK!what hypocrisy! This security guy is uninformed, ignorant and complacent. The woman is selfish. BevMo is greedy and could care less about a pandemic that is ravaging our state. I have been a resident of San Leandro for over 20 years and since shelter in place was required in March, I have been supporting local businesses in San Leandro. No more! I won't spend my money on any business that doesn't follow the Governor's and county orders. There are over 13,000 elderly people who live in San Leandro who are at risk of dying if the get Covid. San Leandro also has an African American population of 10.7%. Both of these groups are at the highest risk. BevMo and this selfish woman are putting these groups at risk. Trader Joe's in Castro Valley has excellent wine and the best French champagnes. They require everyone to wear masks and they disinfect their shopping carts after each use. Please patronize them...and any small local liquor stores that require wearing masks. We should not reward bad behavior. Stay away from this BevMo is you value your life and those of others. I'm spoiled. I am from Cincinnati and The Party Source was just across the river. The Party Source had aisles of food, cooking classes, everything you'd need for a party, aisle after aisle of wine, liquor and beer, tastings, cigars, etc. The place was huge and truly had it all. BevMo! doesn't compare, but provides a comfortable place to shop for party supplies. We found everything we needed and didn't leave with extras. It was impossible to leave The Party Source without something we hadn't planned to purchase... just because it looked SO good! The staff at BevMO! were very friendly. They made sure customers were taken care of by opening up an additional register. Decent beer and wine selection along with assorted snacks and bar needs. I'm sure we'll come back. read more

The guy knew where everything was fast and helpful by showing me and even taking it to the register for me as well as telling me about the items what they have what's on stock. DON'T BOTHER. We scheduled a delivery time, but nobody came. I called a couple of hours later and they said they were running late. Nothing was delivered that day. I called the next day and they said that my order was still sitting in the store, but they could arrange for delivery 'sometime'. The person didn't seem to care whether or not we went through with the order. I ended up cancelling. I sent a message to corporate HQ about this incident, but they don't seem to care, either. Absolute worst service ever! Would not recommend ever going to this location. My fiancee and I ordered from BevMo for our engagement party. We worked with Ajay who handled our tasting to help us select wine, beer and spirits for our party. Since we had white wine and champagne, he gracious offered to chill the alcohol for us so that we could pick it up the day of the party. The day of the party rolls around, and we pick up our order and head to our party. Once we get there, our bartenders, who we had hired to pour the wine and make cocktails let us know that we were missing all of our spirits! How the hell do you have a bar without any spirits!
