Avoid at all costs. With insurance they charged me $49 for a "copay" I don't have a copay. It was an incremental retina exam. Then they charged an additional $150 for contact fittings which they did not disclose. This is all covered through my insurance but they tried to bill me directly. Then they gave me a handwritten quote for glasses and were not giving me a copy. I had to take a picture and the woman was trying to block the quote. I looked at lenscrafters (1.6miles away) for the exact same frame, lens and everything and they were almost $200 cheaper. They called me to charge me $150 for the lenses all covered through insurance. I told them to charge my insurance. I went to LensCrafters and they were trying to refuse my prescription. But was able to get the same glasses for almost $200 and better and cheaper contacts. Avoid Beyond Vision Center they are complete crooks! read more

I had a wonderful experience at Beyond Vision. I ended up here after I went to the DMV to renew my license. I was told I needed to get a signature from an optometrist to renew the license. I moved here recently and didn't have an optometrist yet. I remembered that Beyond Vision was next to my workout location. I walked in and the staff was so helpful in getting me into their busy schedule. My experience was very positive. I've never written a negative review for any business before, but my experience with the staff is worth mentioning. When I declined to pay $800 for a year's supply of contacts and opted for only a 3-month's supply, the young woman at the front desk gave me so much attitude and asked why. She aggressively pushed for the year's supply, promoting the rebate option, laughing at me for missing out on saving $400. I understand there is money to be saved, but please be sensitive to people's financial situations. I do not have $800 to spend on contacts at the moment. Not only did I feel scammed, but I also felt shamed and bullied by the staff. Please be kind and approach every patient's decision with understanding and respect. Thank you. read more

This is may second time ordering quality prescription sunglasses from Beyond Vision Center. The last experience went so well I'm back for a new set with a little darker lens for cross desert driving. Again, excellent customer service and selection. After many years of going to Morris Eye Group ( they were good just not great) it was nice to experience this higher level of personal customer service as well as eye exam done with less waiting. You will do yourself a disservice if you do not use Beyond Vision Center as your optometrist. I come from a family of physicians and they epitomize the highest level of expertise and service. I've used Beyond Vision from their opening and every interaction has been friendly and professional. Most importantly, it is evident they have the most up-to-date technology (to clarify, I am not a doctor). On my recent visit, they identified a critical eye issue for me to address that would not have been located without their newest medical device (which I had never been evaluated with in any office previously). Not to mention, they are expanding their office to include a larger retail space. I cannot recommend more highly. read more

I mistakenly judged 'this book' by it's nice 'cover' and gave Beyond Vision the benefit of the doubt to go there. I was overly trusting and patient. First off, I was sent to the wrong location to pick up my frames. First Oakley frames came in and were defective and had a sharp edge that irritated my nose badly. Second replacement progressive were not even adjusted, and was sent out the door with horribly seated frame/lenses (they knew these were my first progressives). Contacts and contact prescription was off and were useless in the end. I was not even given a receipt with what I purchased (frame style/model, warranty, costs breakdown, prescription... none of those not even a piece of paper with my glasses...); very strange and unprofessional. I just trusted and went with it. Nice people on the outside... but a good, thorough, professional, caring, optometrist is more important. First, I wanted the same make as my current frames, Oliver Peoples, and saw on their website that they carried them, along with many other high quality brands. My first visit to the Encinitas location was a delight. Everybody was very friendly and efficient, only a few minutes until I was with Dr. Morgan and done with the exam in less than 20 minutes. He was knowledgeable and personable, taking a genuine interest in my personal needs for eyecare. The frames were at the Carlsbad location and I experienced their great service again. The glasses were ready in half the expected time. Dr. Morgan brought them to Encinitas for me to pick up. In a lifetime of wearing glasses, this is the best experience I have had. I had issues with this store which could have been handled in a stellar way. I bought a pair of sunglasses for 200 dollars and unfortunately, I wore them for 30 minutes while taking a walk and my eyes became very irritated. I went to the store to return the sunglasses and they told me that I could not return them or exchanged them because of Covid. After I went home I decided to call and see if I could talk to the owner and she refused to come to the phone or return my call. I finally found out from one of the clerks that the reason I couldn't return the sunglasses was that they don't have a contract with Vogue anymore. I am so upset and feel like I have had my money stolen from these people. Very upset and never had an experience like this before and wish these people who are doctors and owners will close their business. read more

This review is for Ronda( Hope I got her name right? ). I have very high prescription and lost one important screw to my prescribed sunglasses. So had to spend a whole day in Legoland with my kids with only one lens. Called a few places that this is the only place available at 5:30pm that takes walk-in. Ronda spent like 30 minutes trying to find a screw that fits. I know that screw barely cost anything but the effort is A LOT. But Ronda insisted that it is a complementary service. All I can say about this practice (there are actually two locations) is that the Encinitas and Carlsbad area has been blessed to finally open up a practice with the very best that the optometry field could ever ask for. Having been an optician in the past, I can honestly say that I've never EVER been to a practice that values their patients as much as Dr. Raja and Dr. Morgan do. They operate by a system of good karma. The doctors and staff have made it clear that when you put something good out into the world, then good things will come back to you. Because of those beliefs, the practices are both thriving and they maintain such a positive flow of awesome patients even while keeping their prices extremely reasonable.
