Unfortunately, the office wasn't willing to discuss or consider a Vergennes-only membership, necessitating a monthly fee which includes the Middlebury location as well. I'm sure the Middlebury location is great but for a Vergennes/Ferrisburgh resident, it would be nice to get a gym visit in without having to cross like four town lines. It's a missed opportunity to not provide this service.

The staff are ALL TRAINERS and knowledgeable about the equipment. The cycling classes are my favorite! Great music and high energy. Julie and Genie keep you motivated and happy. After most spin classes there is a great cardio circuit class that has both men and women participating. It's as challenging as you want to make it. Ernie is professional and will give you suggestions, guidance and motivation as you work thru each station. I know there are also dance classes that have great music and a loyal following. What makes this studio superior is, basically, the teachers and the students. Christine is a natural teacher; patient, incisive, caring. And she knows her anatomy as well as any doctor; she'll take a quick look at your posture, and then correctly guess that you took a 3-mile hike up a steep grade two days ago. The she'll suggest a subtle workaround for those tight calves. And the students: they're serious. Most of them are regulars, and the atmosphere once class begins is one of concentration (but not solemnity; there's regular bouts of laughter, incited mostly by christine). Throw in a lovely, light-drenched studio with views of the green mountains, a few friendly dogs, and $110 for a 10-class pass, and you've got the best yoga studio in the state.

However my closure to the gym membership was not pleasant. Ruth was not a fun call. I was told that the gym needs 15 days notice to deactivate a gym membership so I will be billed again. ANOTHER 59.00. I mean come on this is why people are hesitant to go to a gym. So in closing the cancelation fees was just sad. and I would not recommend this family owned gym .

They feel like because they have a pool they get to hold that over their customers and people have to continue to take their lack of customer service and dirty space with a weird machine layout. I had been going to the other gym in town and only gave this place a shot because I moved and this one is closer but guess what I don't swim so I could care less and I am happy to drive 5 more minutes to a gym where they provide actual customer service.

Charlotte and her colleagues are on hand to provide encouragement for every level of swimmer, and within a few visits you will be on your way to meet your fitness goal. When I returned after major surgery they helped me come up with a gentle plan and wow, I was back on track faster than I could have imagined. The pool is as beautiful as it is clean, as is the rest of the establishment, including fabulous workout areas.
