I came to this salon twice. The first time I had a great experience and was happy with the result and the second time I was not. First off I requested the owner to do my hair and her assistant ended up doing it because they were busy (it was a Saturday afternoon). I requested balayage and highlights and showed them picture of what I wanted which was a golden brown, subtle balayage. I ended up with yellow and white hair as pictured. I spent $290 and ended up having to go to a different salon to correct what was done here. When I went to the other salon they were shocked at how my hair was handled. This is upsetting as I had a great experience the first time, but my second experience was so poor and cost me more than expected due to correction costs, that I don't think I can come back here. read more

The owner cut my hair and picked the color. She is so talented. Her assistant did a fabulous job applying the color and did a very thorough shampoo. I absolutely LOVE this salon for eyebrow threading. I used to go to a salon in Hicksville on Rt. 107. I went there for many years. However, they seemed to have lost their touch. The owner there used to rush my eyebrows, to the point where I had to go home and tweeze them on my own to clean them up. What a waste of money. I went looking for a new eyebrow threading place and came across BGZ Hair Couture, which happened to be closer to my house. When I first entered this salon a few months ago, I was in awe with its cleanliness and modern decor. I love the fact that it is a walk-in location for eyebrows (no appointment needed). The ladies there are very kind and work hard to make my eyebrows look great. I am always SO pleased with how my eyebrows look coming out of BGZ Couture. The ladies there take their time, and I do not feel rushed. My sister and I go there every 1-2 weeks to get our eyebrows done, and I can't imagine going anywhere else! :) read more

This is probably one of the most unprofessional hair salons I've ever been to. I was specific with what I wanted from my appointment: a dry cut (primarily just a trim and a touch up cut on my layers) for my curly hair and a touch up for my highlights at the roots. I called in beforehand to confirm that these specifications could be met and was assured that neither would be an issue. Because the owner was working with a different client, the assistant started with my trim. When I sat down in the chair the assistant started to wet my hair -- and when I tried to object she told me "that they knew what they were doing" and "that I should let them do their job." Since she was just the assistant and all she was doing was my trim, I let it go. That was a huge mistake on my part. After the trim, the owner started working on my highlights. After I told her what I wanted she said that she wouldn't be able to exactly match the color of my existing highlights but would do her best- I understood. My highlights at that time were an ashy/ golden mixture. What I came away with after 2 hours of sitting with the foils in my hair -- while the owner and her assistant were preoccupied with redoing the interior of the salon and eating their lunch -- were thick strips of copper that stood out against my previous highlights. When I asked her if she could blend the strips a little more and if she could make my roots look less haphazard, she said that I hadn't told her what I wanted... that I was actually looking for a balayage... that she could do some shadowing to try to cover it up a little. When she called over her assistant to get some color for "shadowing" at my roots, her assistant very rudely said "now what does she not like." Seeing the state of things, I tried to salvage what was already done and leave without getting my layers cut. She encouraged me to stay and let her "take a look" at the trim. She started by first wetting my hair and doing the inspection, and then giving me a full haircut. Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment at another salon for the following weekend. The owner at this other salon was actually surprised at the so called "highlights" I had walked in with but was able to fix the disaster. I'm upset not only because this cost me a ridiculous amount of money, but also because they didn't seem to show any remorse in what they left my hair as. Not only would I not recommend this salon but I would actually dissuade people to go to this salon. read more

I've had some bad hair cuts in my life but the experience i had this morning at BGZ was the worse. I walked in to find out they completely forgot about my Keratin treatment appointment. Instead of getting ready for my appointment, she was doing her own hair. Then she had the nerve to ask me to come back tomorrow. Tomorrow? Really? They know this process takes time. They don't give a crap that i had to rearrange my schedule for this appointment. All she cared about was doing her own hair in the mirror. BGZ doesn't care about their clients at all. I should have known better after my friend had a terrible experience with them as well. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere or you'll be wasting your time too. read more

By far the best eyebrow threading place that I ever been too. Farida (the owner) is not only talented but also extremely hospitable. She wasn't able to do my eyebrows today because she hurt her hand but her employee did it and did an amazing job. Farida also made sure to check my eyebrows to make sure they were the way I wanted after the woman who did it was done. She cares so much about her clients and them leaving happy. Honestly eyebrows are not an easy thing to do everyone has a different brow and different shape but this place just aces it! Took awhile for me to write my review but I came in here for a threading before a wedding I was to attend last week. The threading performed was very throurough and good. I was getting ready to leave when I told the owner, Farida my hair situation. My hair is very stringy, it breaks and pieces come off because I always tie it. I don't get it trimmed and she advised me that it probably the main reason why it is breaking. She said to trust her so I got my hair trimmed! Best decision ever! My hair looks great. Typically, the shop is closed on Monday's but when I told Farida that I had my engagement photo shoot on a Monday and was not able to re-schedule it, she immediately put my nerves at ease and said she would come in just for me! I too was going to a salon in Hicksville on Broadway, actually tried a few and I have been very unhappy with the service. Always had to go home and fix my eyebrows, had to fill them in with a pencil.
