The service with Bi-State/AmeriGas is still top-notch! Currently, I am working with Nathan, Jakki, and their support team. Much of my contact is with Nathan and his team and they still ROCK! I can't express enough home much I appreciate their above and beyond approach. They do their best [and it's a big effort] to make sure that I do not run out of propane during the cold winter months. I can't ask for more and I really appreciate that they go out of their way to make sure I can heat a pot of water and stay warm. They don't have to care...but they do!!!! 10 Stars to Nathan! 0 stars for this joke of a company! I can't stress enough to find a different company for propane services. It's a joke! Everytime I ordered propane from them it took double the time, and price of another vendor. I switched to Campora in January and notified them to come get their tank. We'll April is a handful of days away and guess what? The bi-state/Amerigas tank is still at the bottom of my driveway! They even charged me $70 to pick up the tank. I mean I already paid for them to come get it and it's still sitting on my property. Save yourself a headache and find a different company. read more

Run, do not walk away from Amerigas Propane. Another American cost-cutting corporate sell out of all customer service. The local South Lake Tahoe office no longer has a real person working there to answer calls and coordinate service. I scoured every listed phone # I could find on line, including the Headquarters number listed in Pennsylvania. Every one of them connected to a call center in the Philippines to people who read off a script like robots and they hung up on me twice because they couldn't answer a simple question; why were we billed for a thousand dollar delivery when we absolutely know our tank wasn't? There was a pipe problem that had to be fixed first as indicated by a note left on the door by the delivery guy indicating the refill was NOT done. They literally just hung up mid sentence because they could not reconcile my account of events with what their computer told them. Nothing, and I mean nothing will ever replace a competent, real person in a local office to operate a business. I feel bad for the delivery drivers whose jobs depend on this abysmally run company, this is not their fault. I will be going old school to write a letter to the company as they don't provide any other way of contacting them-- that's how you know that THEY know what a crappy business they're running but the greed wins out. We will be cancelling our service with Amerigas immediately. read more

I truly hope this company is on the verge of bankruptcy. During 9 degree weather they cancelled my appointments for refilling my tank and my family went 10 days without heat. I was told that "I was nut a priority". That home burned down during the Caldor fire along with all my neighbors. All former customers of BiState Propane and not returning anytime soon. What a joke. I was paying $3.19 per gallon and switched to Ferrell for $1.70. I called and asked if they had golf flakes in theirs. The lady was of course used to this and said "Well we have customers paying over $4 per gallon". Whatever, where like in timbucktoo on the side of a cliff? This is Bi-State's way they operate. Get you in at a cheaper rate and then raise raise raise and raise your rate until you get upset enough to change. These tards even had me run out of gas in the winter! Goodbye! read more

Until recently, we have had propane delivered to our home by Amerigas for over 20 years without a problem. Always could call the local office and talk to Laura who would promptly take care of our delivery needs. If there was ever a problem, could call Laura (or whoever was working at the local office) back and she could talk to the driver directly and rectify the problem. Now the local office is gone and when you call about a problem you talk to a centralized call center in Cleveland Ohio. We recently had 4 missed deliveries ( supposedly) in a week. We were told that they couldn't find our address ( did I mention they have been delivering here for 20 years!) and that our drive way was not clear of snow ...which by the way was 100% completely and totally false ! You cannot get any resolution with the call center people, even though they are all nice and say they are trying to help, they have very little ability to do much. So we are sitting here with like 8% left in our tank and still have no idea when the delivery will actually occur. We feel pretty helpless in trying to resolve this problem as it seems we just keep getting the run around from the company. It is beyond frustrating!!!We will absolutely be switching companies as soon as we can. This is completely ridiculous. Amerigas has chosen to streamline their service to save a buck at the cost of ruining their customer service. read more

This company seems to go out of its way to make you and your family feel worthless. My family lives in Markleeville and Biststate went out of their way to avoid us. We would pay for our propane and two weeks later would still not have it. And so, our tank would ran out and we had to go to a small 5 gallon tank while waiting. And because THEY took so long to deliver, they tried to charge us for a relighting fee (when everything was still in use and nothing needed to be relit) of $80! Their propane is $4 a gallon when other places such as Universal propane is $1.99. We have children and I told their receptionist we could not run out of propane (needing to cook and have hot water for the children). She tried to tell me to shut our propane off so we wouldn't run out. Seriously? We are supposed to take ice cold showers in the winter because you don't want to deliver to us in a timely manner? Also, we have a large dog who is very protective of our house. She is kept in the yard most of the time, and I told the receptionist this so she could mark it in the computer so their techs would not walk into my yard unsuspecting when someone wasn't home and have the potential to get bit. The next time I called asking about when I would get my propane, she still had not added this information into our account. If the tech had been bit, I dread to think of what would happen to my dog, who was just doing her job protecting the home. We (and our dog) would have been blamed, not the laziness and stupidity of the company. If it is at all possible, go with another company. For your own sanity and financial benefit. read more

Very easy to get service from. Super nice on the phone with set up of new service. Cheaper tank rental than others and better gas prices.

Bistate are very honest and friendly. We've gotten reasonable deals and it has a family-run feel even though it is affiliated with a larger group. I'm not sure if they fixed it, but getting signed up for online payment seemed confusing the first time I tried it. read more

We have been dealing with this company for over a year now, & our neighbors have used them for years. Always heard how Bi State would try and over charge for everything, but never had too much issues until the past couple of months. When our tank was running low we called to get it filled. Well they said they'd be out in a few days and charged us. Few days later they said they might be out by the end of the week. By this point it is very low and we call just to find out that they couldn't make it because of other places running out, weather and just excuses after excuses. Basically made it seem we were less important than everyone else running out, after we already paid for the propane. Well a week later we ran out and called to figure out what was going on. They continued with the excuses and we had to wait another week. By this point I'm very frustrated because I've already gone through 4 of the 5 gallon tanks and still waiting for our propane we purchased from bistate. It's been over 2 weeks now and we're still waiting, and customer service has been no help, nothing but rude. I'm tired of being over charged and my propane running out waiting on Bi State to deliver it. I've found another propane company that is half the price and more on about their business with helping their customers. read more

Not much worse when it comes to fuel needs than finding your propane tank is leaking on a Friday afternoon. Nothing better than contacting Bi-State. They sent out a tech right away, and he confirmed it needed to be replaced. It was a rental tank and within about 2 1/2 hours of his visit they installed a new tank and had me up and running.
