Y'all, Bias Brewing is so rad that I can't even make a cheesy pun about being biased--it just simply has been the most rad stop during this trip to Kalispell. The staff is so chill and really friendly and engaging; you'll feel welcomed right away. The beer/cider/seltzer options are bountiful and you can taste whatever you'd like before making a full-sized selection. Bias Brewing was another brewery that I was thrilled to try on a recent trip to Montana. I had a lengthy list of breweries I wanted to make sure I had a chance to get some beer from and Bias was one of them. Steve and I tried two different beers from this brewery and they were very solid and of good quality! The first beer I had was the Jewel Basin IPA. This was a very refreshing IPA with it's hoppy, piney and malty flavors. The beer is smooth and bright. The other beer was the Kolsch which was equally solid and enjoyable. The flavors in this beer is a light, biscuity flavor with a crisp finish. Very typical characteristics of a Kolsch and perfect as the summer season rolls in with it's higher temps. read more

Bias Brewing in Kalispell, Montana is a fun and funky restaurant and a local hangout on Main Street in down town Kalispell. The menu ranges from bar food to flatbread and sandwiches but also includes bowls and a charcuterie boards. I ordered the Green Chili Chicken Rice Bowl which I thought was really great. Fair enough--busy night, small kitchen, I can wait. 35 minutes later: no flatbread. Asked for an update: "Another 30 minutes." For ONE flatbread? Now I don't know what kind of culinary masterpiece I was expecting, but after an hour and thirty-five minutes, I was no longer hungry--I was spiritually exhausted. We asked for a refund, and to add insult to indigestion, they still charged us for the two sodas. (A refreshing way to lose $6.) And just as we were walking out, in a twist no one asked for, the elusive flatbread emerged. Dramatic timing--but not worth the wait. Imagine this: canned pineapple, cubed ham, and melty sadness on what can only be described as a large saltine cracker. A five-minute effort stretched into a feature-length film. Spoiler alert: it flopped. Bias Brewing may pour good beers (so I've heard), but when it comes to food service, they're serving delays with a side of disappointment. read more

I remember seeing Bias Brewing a block away last time I visited Kalispell and now they have occupied that I think was Kalispell Brewing so they're expanding! I had the Tangerine Cream Ale and it made me long for super and it was the perfect balance of tart and sweet! The beertender was friendly and helpful with my selection as well, bonus points! I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon around 2. I've had their beer before, which is pretty good, today I came in to try the food. We ordered two sandwiches and a pizza. I got the pastrami sandwich hot and the herb wrap. After a wait, my sandwich came out barely room temp, but looked toasted. The sandwich had potential, unfortunately it sat too long. They weren't busy, so not sure why it sat around so long. My friend enjoyed the herb wrap. The pizza came out and was a big let down. The cheese had a weird waxy texture and the pie itself wasn't very hot when they brought it out. It was pretty lackluster for an "artisan" pizza. The server/bartender was very friendly and helpful. Brewery # 242 is Bias Brewing, and let me tell you it was hopping when we arrived at almost 7;00pm on a Friday night. They had a gent playing the guitar and singing, which I appreciated but we decided to sit outside in the lovely spring weather. We ordered at the bar then headed to the patio area which had three greenhouse-type igloos for seating areas. I'm not sure if these are left overs from the covid hysteria or placed for outdoor winter, but they are cool. We didn't sit in one considering it was a solid 70 degrees and would probably have been over 100 in those igloo thingies. They would work really well in cooler weather. Regardless we enjoyed the patio. A flight of four for me included the Rice Rice Baby, a rice lager. This had a predictably light color and flavor. This was perfect for a 70 degree afternoon in Kalispell after a hike in the park. Jewel Basin IPA was next. This was an easy drinking IPA. The Dunkel was really good. True to style, flavorful, and well done overall. The Scotch Ale represented well. A bit malty of course and a very good beer. We enjoyed Bias Brewing and it looked like everyone there was. I came in because I really wanted a sandwich, the lady recommended the smoke. The sandwich was 16.00 and I thought it was going to be awesome for the price. I got it, and it seemed like there was only ham in it. There was supposed to be turkey and ham, there was hardly any meat and it was super small. For 16.00 I was expecting a great sandwich... Great place to stop for a brew. When we visited they had 11 beers. All brewed to remove the almost all the gluten. They had seven ciders and four hard seltzers available. We really enjoyed the flight of hard seltzers. The kombucha hard seltzer was my fav while my hubby enjoyed the frozen daiquiri hard seltzer. We also tried the pineapple cider which was great and not too sweet at all. They also had food available including gluten free items. My hubby had the GF pizza. I had the Thai Green Curry Bowl.....excellent and also gluten for those who need it. They also offered sandwiches and BYOB bowls. Almost the entire menu could be modified to be GF (GF bread and pizza crust). Very relaxed atmosphere. You order at the counter and they serve you at your table. This brewery is located downtown Kalispell. The interior is nice. light, smells like new wood. The beer choices are solid. This is another great location for those who want more than just IPAs. The food was really good. The nachos and burritos are large, hearty, and very tasty. Like a lot of places right now, they're understaffed so breath deep, drink deeper, and just enjoy. We had a dog with us and they do have a dog-friendly patio, although it's just a concrete slab with three tables right next to their keg storage. Such an amazing and relaxing place. Got a recommendation from a few people to come here and check it out and I am so glad I did! A few coworkers and I met here for dinner and drinks. They had such a great selection of food and beer! I decided to get their seltzer on tap, which is made right there on site. It was super light, refreshing, and just oh so good!!
