Came in from out of town and this was the best food I had in all of Montana. Highlights from our meal was the grilled chicken sandwich and the huckleberry and Brie cheese salad. Tamarack Alehouse is an ideal creekside restaurant in Flathead Lake area. Roadtrip from Glacier National Park, MT to Spokane, WA - recommended by another traveler from a previous stop. Signage is almost non-existent so follow the map on your phone because you won't see it until you've passed it. Ambiance is 5/5- great industrial mountain aesthetic with indoor seating by the fireplace and lovely outdoor patio under shade trees situated creekside. Service is 5/5 - server was friendly and gave us great suggestions. She was busy but made time for us and we didn't feel rushed at all. Food is 5/5 - great roadtrip stop and we'd recommend if you're staying in the lakeside area. Beers on tap are really good and I had a Huckleberry Blonde that was very refreshing. Happy Hour Ribs and Fries are the star of our dining experience!! Phenomenal Stout BBQ sauce and the ribs were perfectly cooked and falling off the bone. We'd order whole rack next time so we'd have leftovers. Portions are huge and we saw a lot of half-order nachos being served and the order filled a very large platter. Great place. Sit outside if you can! The babbling creek is a wonderful scene. Loved to watch the kids playing in it and climbing trees! Since we were a party of 2, we did get a small table right around the corner from an exit area. It wasn't bad. Another party had taken our chair (I'm guessing they said they had 4 guest instead of the actual 5) so we did have to wait for the hostess to find a chair when we got to our table but that's not on the restaurant. Patrons of the establishment seemed entitled and rude but the restaurant and wait staff itself was ok. The girl who sits outside to put you on the waitlist seemed like she'd rather us leave than wait 20 minutes. Food was fine. Drinks were good. You may have to wait a little bit, but choices in the area are limited. Prices are on. We spent $63 before tip for 2 burgers and 2 drinks. We were able to walk here from our tiny Airbnb so that was an added plus for us. read more

This brewery and pub house is near beautiful Flathead Lake and it's definitely worth a visit! If you have a chance, sit on the patio. One of my new favorites when visiting Montana. They have rotating seasonal taps, which are quite good. Not sure which to try? Get their beer flight. The Mission Mountain Rib Eye was perfectly cooked!! It came with their house made chimichurri sauce. Their Brew Kettle Ribs were fall off the bone tender and had a tasty stout bbq sauce. Wonderful customer service from India! The only thing I would mention are the yellow jackets flying around the patio area. They can be quite annoying while you're eating. read more

My husband and I stopped here for lunch after driving around Flathead Lake. We got the flagship sampler which included generous pours of seven beers - none of them stood out individually to us; if I were to choose, the oatmeal stout was our favorite but everything else was solid. For lunch, we got a cup of their daily soup (a Kimchi beef stew which was delicious), a Spinach salad and the huckleberry salmon plate (this was tasty but came with seasonal veggies and mashed potatoes which were the same color so overall not a very colorful/aesthetically pleasing plate - could use some garnish). The food was very tasty and honestly better than I would expect at a brewpub. Our server was super friendly and attentive and overall it was a nice atmosphere - there was outdoor seating with some fire pits going on outside. Good spot to stop for lunch! read more

We've heard so many great things about this restaurant. It's kind of tucked away right beside a creek. I am gluten-free so I was checking the menu on yelp but didn't see much but we were excited to try it anyway. We sat outside and once I started looking over the menu and asked our server (who was wonderful from start to finish) about possibly gluten-free bread, she brought me the whole GLUTEN FREE MENU! I had the pub bread wrapped steak and grilled vegetables and it was absolutely delicious. The huckleberry vinaigrette for my salad was really good too. We started with the Railroad ties (an interesting twist on an egg roll) they were very good but I think I would have preferred soy sauce to the jalapeño dip that came with it. Finished with a Caesar salad with buffalo chicken, very tasty and a good portion. We did the entire beer sampler (about 14) and enjoyed all of them (the tequila barrel was the best). We did a day long excursion around Flathead Lake and down to the Bison Preserve just South of that. On the way back we stopped in Tamarack Alehouse for a bite and some beers. We didn't see much on the menu that appealed to us at the time so we just opted for the garlic and bleu cheese fries and two delicious pints of IPA. This is a cool place for families to spend some time. They were easily able to accommodate our large group of nine people, which had 5 kids ranging from 4-9 years. The kids spent most of their time playing in the creek, while we adults enjoyed food and drinks on the expansive deck overlooking the creek. We were happy that the kids were entertained with the creek because it allowed the adults to relax. The decor has a cool industrial yet comfortable feel. Their kids' menu had simple child-friendly options (mac & cheese, burger, noodles with butter or marina), which our kids enjoyed. The adults ordered the Big Sky Burger, Huckleberry Salmon, and Chicken Caesar salad, and they were all very tasty. They have a wide selection of beers. We ordered the Flagship Flight, which had samplers of 8 beers. The beers were decent. Overall, this is a nice brewery with good food. I definitely recommend Tamarack. read more

After a day of boating on Flathead Lake, this was the perfect place to go. The wait wasn't long until we were seated even though the restaurant was packed. Our waitress was super friendly and offered excellent recommendations. We ordered the spicy buffalo burger (cannot remember the exact name) and the buffalo chicken strips. We also has parmesan added to our fries (you have to add this!). Both were amazing. We split the food, and it was plenty for the two of us. The outdoor seating was comfortable. We were right next to the creek, which was an added bonus. This establishment is one you need to visit if you're ever in the west side of Flathead Lake. It's worth a visit! read more

Fish n chips were one of the best I've ever had. This is a must order if you're in town! Garlic blue cheese fries were delicious! I ordered it with a side of ranch and every piece tasted like heaven. Spinach artichoke dip was delicious! I love the options of bread or colorful tortilla chips. The chips were a bit salty and I had to brush some of it off. Other than that, it was sooo good! There's big chunks of artichoke in the dip too! The prime rib brew bread wasn't my favorite. The bread is from a local bakery, but I wish they either toasted the bread or grilled it for a char on the outside. It was pretty soggy and wet when it came to the table. You can also see in the photo that it was just a regular wrap. Think of a philly cheesesteak wrap and this is your prime rib brew bread. The server didn't ask for my side options and defaulted to fries. I would've chosen something different since I ordered the fries as an appetizer. I took it home and heated it up in my toaster oven and it was way better! Whiskey peach is delicious! I only had that one drink and it gave me a good buzz. It has that sweet and savory taste to It if you're into that kind of stuff. It's cider which I'm not really a fan of, but this drink is also a must try. Tamarack is one block in from the main strip and I recommend you don't miss them... Super clean, nice patio, friendly staff, excellent food. I did a "build it yourself" pizza... believe it was spinach and mushroom. Had an excellent Pinot Grigio with that. (I know it's a brewery but I'm more of a wine guy) He had their adult mac n cheese.
