After having one our worst dining experiences EVER at an Irish Pub that's around the corner, we stumbled upon Bibo at 8:30, on a Friday evening. We were very disgruntled by how we were treated at the pub, and I'm sure it was very noticeable. Luckily, as we were desperately looking for a different place to eat, we were waved down by one of the servers standing at the entrance of Bibo. His smile and pleasant demeanor was a breath of fresh and and it could not have had better timing. Long story short, our server literally treated us like celebrities. And to match that, the food and wine was also amazing. During our 8 city Italy vacation, we definitely dined at some very high-end restaurants, but our server at Bibo was truly in a league of his own. We first dined at Bibo Pizzeria and Ristorante almost 29 years ago, after finding it accidentally. We next visited Rome in 2007, and again ate at Bibo. We returned to Rome last week, and had to eat there one more time. The dining room has expanded, along with the menu - but the food is still excellent. Everything we tried was excellent, from the complimentary bruschetta and the minestrone soup to the pizza (bellisimo!). Our cappuccinos were perfect, as were the pastries. Best of all, our "little waiter" from 29 years ago, singing "Volare" as he went about his business, is still there - now in management. Everyone on the staff was friendly, welcoming and friendly, despite my "non-Italian." The original small, dark, dining room has been modernized and the restaurant expanded with several additional dining rooms all with clean, white walls and interesting wall coverings. However, the best place to sit is still at the wooden, outdoor, beer garden. Rest assured, we'll be back when we return to Rome. Ciao, amici. read more

Delicious cappuccino and Nutella stuffed croissant! Very inexpensive 6 euro for all 3 items. Cute little inside with small tables and space to sit outside. Appears they have an extensive bar as well. If you are close by in the morning stop by for a quick cappuccino and pasty. Amazing! read more

We cannot espresso how yummy this was Stopped into BIBÓ before our tour of the 10 wonders of Rome and we finally got our first espressos and they were delicious! Definitely needed the caffeine boost for a 3 hour tour but everything about this day was perfect! We stopped here on a whim because we were hungry, and left with good food in our bellies and a good attitude since the staff was so attentive and polite. It's difficult to find a bad meal in Rome, and the food did not disappoint at all. I really enjoyed prosciutto and cheese. Very fresh. Our waiter was polite, funny, gracious, and attentive. Stopped in for lunch with my family. I ordered veal kabob which was definitely spoiled. Upon the first bite I had to spit it out. It was rancid! I ordered a salad right after that first bite and waited for a very long time but it never came out. My husband ordered a calzone and daughter a pizza, which they enjoyed. Very nice place. Our hotel was close to here. The restaurant been opening since 1969. 43 years of delicious food. The service is excellent. If you don't speak Italian, no worries. They can speak English for you. We loved it. You can either sit outside or inside. We opted for outdoor dining. The breeze and hearing locals give you the vibes. We had fresh smoothie, pasta and soup.. If you ever visit Rome, you should definitely visit. read more

We were up pretty early this morning but and were looking for some place to eat and drink coffee before we started our day. We found this place almost by accident as it was a little off the beaten path but man were we impressed. We ordered the prosciutto and mozerella panini, tuna sandwich, cappuccinos, and a cake. We stumbled upon this restaurant after a long walk from the train Roma station, and after visiting the Colosseum. Here the pasta was homemade and amazing. We tried the pasta Ragu, pesto, the garlic pasta, and the Parma prosciutto. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. read more

I thought it was pretty good despite the other reviews with poor experiences of the food. Cacio e Pepe is pretty simple though. There was a table next to me that had ordered pizza and the pizza did NOT look appetizing at all. If I had ordered the pizza and what I saw at the other table came out, I would have sent it back and ordered something else. Overall, it's an okay place to eat if you're starving and don't feel like waiting at the more popular places in the surrounding blocks. Wow. What a disappointment given our high expectations for Italian food. Salad seems to be just taken from a grocery bag, spaghetti is not better than what you can find in any fast food, filet mignon has no taste and no sauce, house wine is just a sour drink. Have your meals elsewhere. read more

The "flag restaurant"! ...At first glance, it looks like a sure-fire tourist trap (given the central location and various flags on each table), but after much convincing of my party to give it a shot (and pointing out that there were as many, if not more, locals than tourists), they admitted in the end that they did enjoy their pizza.. :) On a separate occassion, I had been alone for lunch, and got the grumpy old waiter...However, after some chatting he opened up and was border-line flirting..it paid off in the end because he offered me ice cream and a limoncello gratis! We have stopped here twice while in Rome. Once we just had wine and snacks and the 2nd time for dinner. I am learning not to expect great service from servers in general in Rome, but here our server was friendly and made suggestions for us on request. He was more engaging than other places we have dined. I had spaghetti alle vongole veraci and it was amazing. My wife had spaghetti alla amatriciana she loved it as well. They don't have a large selection of wines but what they have is good. Overall the experience was very good. read more
