I set out on a mission to help my neighbor to lease a car because him and his wife are elderly and they had never leased or bought a new car before and were afraid of being taken advantage of. I told Johnny from Chevrolet exactly which car we wanted down to the model and the features it had to have- $279/month by phone he negotiated to get us to show up in person at this dealership with the understanding that we would be doing a trade and expected to negotiate the price down further to around $250 a month based on our trade and my Neighbor worked for board of ed and they had some other incentive programs (current Chevrolet owner loyalty). In person we negotiated with Ron (manager from Chevrolet) for the trade and put the trade towards the lease deal and Ron went as low as $252/month for 39 months. My neighbor filled out the purchase paperwork and they promised us the car 11:00 yesterday. When my neighbors showed up to pick up the car, both Johnny and Ron were not there. About a half hour later, my neighbor calls my cell and says "ron is here and he says we need to pay a little more money because he made a mistake." I said absolutely not don't do anything I'll be right there. End Result- Ron and the finance lady said they made a mistake and that they could not go lower than $289/month. That is $10 more a month than the original promised deal that got us to go to this place instead of Brooklyn. And that was not including the $500 they gave us for our trade. They had to put the license plates back on my neighbors car he was trading in and my neighbor had to cancel the insurance he bought for the new car he was promised. Ron promised us and put in writing $252/month for 39 months which would be approx $9828 for 39 months and then when my neighbor was supposed to be picking up their brand new car they told him instead he would have to pay $289/month which totals approx $11,271. They tried to get $1500 more!!!!! at the time where they were supposed to give him possession of the car. It seems to me that you don't have a deal with these people until after you drive the car off the actual lot. My neighbors told me they would have been very upset but they would have done what they told them to do and paid It if I didn't show up to help them. My Fiance and i came here for service when we got to the service advisor, a Caucasian guy with a lot of gray hair, he was just so rude and unwelcoming from the beginning . First off there was no hi how are you all he says was "do you have an appointment " when my fiancé says no he says what are you here for. Then he drops the paper that we got from the guy who took the car on the desk and goes first of all I need your registration(with an attitude) so I can put you in the system. My fiancée asked if it's okay to show him a picture since he has one in his phone because at this point the lot attendant already took the car . He says with an attitude" I need your registration ". So I step in and said he has a picture on his phone can he show you that . He says no he needs the actual paper .So my fiancé had to go get it. Then he proceeds to say the warranty on the car is expired (which is a lie) because I registered the vin on the actual Chevrolet website and it shows warranty wasn't up. So my finances asks how much would it be to do a diagnostic check on the car and he says the amount. So I asked what exactly do they do when they do a diagnostic check on the car and he says they plug in the machine and see what codes pop up along with other stuff. So then I ask if we brought it to another shop and got the codes from them would we be able to come back and show you what the codes were . He says no and I said why not ( I guess that rubbed him the wrong way because he went off and raised his voice as if I was his child ). Once he said what he said I simply said ok it was just a question and walked away. My fiancée and I took our service elsewhere. First and last time coming to this place. SCAMMERS! You could go anywhere and pay far less than what they charge even with GM Genuine Parts. I found myself at this dealership at 9 AM because my mothers car was overheating and she wanted to go to a Chevy Service center. We bought it in and explained the problem to the service rep and let him know there might be a coolant leak. He said the would do a 27 point inspection and let us know what was wrong. He called around 1 PM and told us a few issues but the only one we wanted him to fix was the coolant leak, which should have taken at most an hour. I call him around 4:30 to find out what was taking so long and he let's me know we can come pick up the car because it's ready. We get there and I'm expecting a $300 tab but a bill for $850. As he's going over the bill he say's "I put the other problem here so when you are financially able you can deal with it". I took offense because 1. I'm sure I make more than he does and 2. I could walk off that lot with any car they had without a note, but I didn't let it show that I felt a way. As he wraps up I ask him to break down the fees and exactly why are we paying $313.81 for a battery. He responds and says "well your mom didn't make a big deal about it on the phone", mind you we said NO to the battery. He also said that service for the battery took over an hour because just testing it takes an hour. He then proceeds to tell me that they charge $150 for every service provided, so I got charged $450 (3 hours of labor) for under 1 hour of work. THEY HAVE A SIGN THAT STATES LABOR IS $150 AN HOUR AND $166.67 WITH TAX, NOT PER ITEM FIXED. I then asked about the parts fee because I noticed they were double the price of GM parts. He tells me that's overhead, they have to pay the light bills and employees and that I should take it up with the parts department. SCAMMERS! I looked at the camaro there and thought no get a corvette but no sales rep was around to show it at 9AM so I was waiting until I came back. Highly disappointed, after a successful lease contract of my 2019 Equinox premiere and receiving an extension on the lease, due to the pandemic no vehicle's available part issues, only to have it from in front of my house without even a phone call, is highly unprofessional. Mind you I've never missed a payment I even made a payment the day before they took the vehicle. When I spoke with the reinstatement department (they were extremely helpful and nice) they explained that when I declined the latest offer the clock started ticking. now I didn't accept that offer because they only had 3 vehicles (trailblazers) which is a huge step down and my payments would go from $255 a month to 1.5x that plus another $5000.00 down or receive an extension and wait for more vehicles as per instructions from my sales rep Ms. Nova, I choose the later. The reinstatement dept also explained that when they called the dealership Bical Chevrolet and asked what's my status they were told I didn't have one. I feel this is a grand opportunity for my sales rep to call me considering the fact I'm waiting on more vehicles. Ms. Nova and I have at least 20-30 prior calls and texts messages, this part is even more shocking. I reached out to Ms. Novadene only to have her hang-up (decline) my phone call twice. The new registration just came in which I now have no use for all because of a lack of communication. read more

So I bought a 2017 Chevrolet equinox at the end of April 2019 my salesman was Anthony Miller. The day I came to pick up the car they suddenly couldn't find the spare key okay no big deal things happen I get it. Mr Miller promised he would mail out the key within the next few days. A week went by no key called and was told he was the only person who could help me by the secretary but he was on vacation so I left a message. Waited about 2 weeks called again left another message with the secretary. Waited for a call back nothing so I called again and requested a manager (this is now middle of june) no manager available left another message. July same thing called left messages no calls back. finally last week I spoke with Anthony Miller who was supposed to get back to me the same day by 12:30 never called. I leased a brand new 2016 Camaro. Before purchasing it I noticed it had a dent in the side. Nick Classi (stereotypical shady car salesman) acted fake shocked when I pointed this out to him. He promised to have it taken care of ASAP, which wasn't the case. I had to stalk them and call corporate on numerous occasions. The guy who fixes dents seems to have an irregular schedule. Car was eventually fixed and I avoided getting any kind of service done there except what was covered by warranty. Getting something as simple as an oil change can have you there for hours. I eventually had a problem with car towards end of my lease. For this problem I had to have a loaner because they said it would take a few days to investigate problem. At first they didn't want to give me a loaner because they all were taken. Yes all FOUR of the loaners they had were taken. The only reason I was given one eventually was because my extended warranty coverage was running out. It took over 1 month for me to get my car back!!! Communication from them was non existent. When I called and finally was told car was ready, I went to pick it up and noticed A DENT in passenger's side. The guy of course would have never mentioned anything unless I said something. When I go to pick up car I noticed chipped paint where dent was fixed. Guy attempts to convince me that it's dirt and can be washed off. Terrible dealership. Ruined my experience with GM. Incompetent. One of the tire pressure sensors on my car needed to be reset. When I took my car in, the person in the service department reset the computer to the wrong setting and for 2 months I drove with my tires severely under inflated. I also had them look look at a seat belt that was sticking. They ordered a new part, but lost it. When I returned to have the computer reset because of the tire pressure issue they still didn't have the part. On top of they, they call me twice a week to have more maintenance done. I've repeatedly asked them to stop calling me. The last time I called the operator hung up on me. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE IDIOTS. read more

Recently we purchased a new Equinox from Bical. Overall a very good experience. My husband does a lot of research educating himself before any purchase with regard to pricing, rebates, trade in value of our car, etc. In fact our salesman, an older gentleman, said my husband "reads too much!" LOL My belief is be informed & avoid some pitfalls or misunderstandings. Our nature is what's the bottom line without any BS & we're set - we buy or walk out. We are respectful & expect the same in return & certainly had no issue on any of those counts. Glad my husband was looking up on his phone available cars listed in stock as things moved a little slow while our salesman was looking thru his binder so some patience required but we found the one we wanted. Diana, the mgr, was great. She did tell us about rebates we were already aware of plus an add'l rebate if we took the financing thru them, which we weren't aware of. The rate we got was very competitive & afforded us a nice add'l rebate. Again, we did homework with regard to rates before looking & have excellent credit scores, which served us well. Suggestion - always know the bottom line of what u r getting, for how much, & what u can afford. Not just "How much a month do u want to pay." Anyway, There was some confusion on the salesman's part as he wrote the contract with what was taxable & how it was written thereby charging us incorrectly. Without a doubt it was an honest error on his part as he went to Diana in frustration to tell her we just didn't understand. I overheard her tell him we were correct & she promptly came over & rewrote the contract. Our salesman was very apologetic. Point here, review & understand what you are signing as anyone can get confused & make an honest mistake. No pressure on picking up car with sales pitches for extras & we appreciated that. They handled loan, DMV, etc. Efficient & painless. I debated 5 stars or 4 due to the glitch w the contract & extra patience needed but all in all everyone was pleasant & we all got what we wanted without the typical haggle so I'd call it a 5 star success! read more

So I make an appointment at Bical Chevy for a simple Oil change, I was given 1 pm on Thursday May 10. I arrived at 12:50, 10 mins early and my car was immediately taken in. I was told it would be at least an hour. I returned at 2:17pm and asked if they had completed the job. The front desk associate checked and they had not even begun. He then said that it was due to the techs having a lunch hour, I asked when is lunch, his reply was 12-1pm. I immediately demanded my car be brought out since waiting any longer would have made me late for work. I took my business elsewhere. My question to Bical is. "Why was my Chevy Trax not given priority as the techs returned from lunch at 1 pm? Why did I wait almost one and a half hours later to find my car undone? They offered no resolution to me and I will not be returning to that location. read more

Here's the short version: My brand new 2017 Trax was broken (it wouldn't move when I hit the gas) I got towed to Bical. Despite my bumper-to-bumper coverage and the fact that my car was still under warranty, they repeatedly refused to give me a courtesy vehicle to use while my car got serviced. (I was left without a car for one week which, for a commuter like me, is a very long time.) One week later, when I picked my vehicle up, they showed no signs of remorse. Here's the long version: It was Monday, January 15th. I went to drive my car (which was still less than a year old at the time, I purchased it on February 4th, 2017) and it wouldn't move. I received two OnStar alerts as soon as I turned the car on, one for the anti-lock braking system and one for the Stabilitrak system. The emails informed me that I had to bring my vehicle in for service ASAP - which I had already figured out based on the fact that my car wouldn't move. I recognize that these things can happen, even to new cars, so I was irritated but not upset with Bical (yet). I arrived at Bical around 5 o'clock on Monday night. The tow truck unloaded my car into the parking lot directly outside the service desk where I met the service manager (whose name is Bradley, I believe). I filled out the service paperwork. Afterward, I asked how I go about getting a courtesy/loaner vehicle to use while my car was in their shop. I was told that wasn't an option. Bradley told me that they need 24 hours to "diagnose" the car and that the shop was busy, so it wouldn't be done until tomorrow afternoon at best. So, I asked him point blank "Am I just stranded here? There's nothing you can do?" to which he had no response. I was repeatedly told two things - 1) that they needed time to diagnose the car and 2) that no loaner vehicles were available. I then headed to speak to several other employees in hopes that one of them may be able to help me, as Bradley was not being at all helpful. Each of these employees informed me that I was, in essence, out of luck. It was at this time that I was asked to leave by the staff for "causing a scene," by asking multiple employees for help when their colleagues were not cooperating. I left Bical and took a $17 Uber ride home. The next day (Tuesday, January 16th), I went back to the dealership around 2 o'clock pm to check on the status of my car. Again, I met Bradley. Again, he told me that they hadn't even looked at my car yet, and that I was once again out of luck. There were no more loaner cars available, so I had to find my own way home...again. I suppose 21 hours after initially dropping it off was not enough time for them to also determine that my car wouldn't move. I left the dealership this time (I was not asked to leave), resigned to the fact that the service was sub-par, and frustrated that my car was still in their hands. The next day (Wednesday, January 17th), I got a phone call from the Bical service desk. They informed me that they had diagnosed my car and that one of the parts on my car needed replacing. I was told that the part would take 3-5 days to obtain and install. I was still not offered a courtesy vehicle, so I ended up renting a car on my own dime. Finally, on Wednesday January 24th, I went to pick up my car. After signing for it, I sat down once more with Bradley to discuss my dissatisfaction with my treatment at Bical, giving him a chance to justify his actions. Once again, I asked him - under what circumstances would I have been granted a courtesy vehicle? He told me that they are first come, first serve. I then asked him what he has done for other people in my situation. (I figured I couldn't be the first person to get stranded at a dealership with no remaining loaner vehicles, I wanted to know how that issue is usually resolved, as I couldn't imagine they always leave their customers high and dry.) I was told that usually they would take the customer over to Enterprise and get them a rental car in that way. That obviously begs the question - why wasn't I given that opportunity? Why was I not taken to enterprise and given a rental while my car was in Chevrolet's possession? Bradley told me that it's because I came late on Monday night. Fair enough, I did get to Bical around 5 o'clock on a Monday, so Enterprise may not have been open. However, I returned the following day at 2 o'clock and was not offered a rental car either. Bradley had nothing to say to that. I politely informed him that I would never be taking my car to Bical again and that I felt I was ignored. I told him it's ridiculous that I pay an extra $50 or so dollars a month for additional coverage, that my car is under warranty, and I still got treated like this. (It also might be worth mentioning that I was not reimbursed for my Uber ride, my rental, and I was charged full price for the oil change and tire rotation. I thought some or all of that might have been covered as a sign of good faith, but I was wrong.) read more

The service provider Julian was very rude to me, as well as patronizing. He told me he didn't know what i could do with my slowly leaking tire and told me just to drive it even though that as dangerous for me and passengers. The tire was brought to him at 22 psi there was a clear issue. He recommended i speak to a manager, who happened to be Anthony Gallo, someone who i came to realize later has nothing to do with the service department he ran sales. He patronized me some more and tired to convince me it was the chilly weather that causes the psi drop. i'm sorry it is no where near possible for you to lose 13 psi from the 'chilly weather'. he informed me that i needed to cal the tire manufacturer Hancock to remedy the tire and that their service department, his exact words 'does not do tires.' which is a completely ridiculous answer. after calling the tire manufacturer several times, leaving messages several times. it was clear to me i would get no response from them. their hours were listed 9-5 monday through friday but anytime i called between those times no one was there. i proceeded to call the dealership to discuss my concerns and remedy the situation. i received michelle the sales girl who sold me the car. she said she would investigate and ask julian and never called me back. i will NOT be returning to this service department to be made to feel unknowledgeable on my own vehicle and an issue it may have. bringing it to a reputable repair shop the found the small leak, an issue YOU should have been able to detect. read more

I purchased oil that was suggested I use in my vehicle by the parts department. I found out that it was the wrong weight oil so I tried to return it but was going to be charged a 35% restocking charge. How can I be charged a restocking charge when the parts department suggested the wrong oil. I found the correct weight oil at Advanced Auto Parts . I asked the manager to step in to help but after going over it he said that there is a sign stating the 35% restock charge. No exaggeration the sign was about 3inches by 3 inches. I said okay I'll take back the oil. I suggest that if you purchase parts or oil be sure you get the right parts or be sure you need them. read more

When I arrived, they showed me the beautiful car being prepped and we went inside to sign the paperwork. It went downhill from there. They "forgot" to include the payoff on my trade in the deal they gave me the previous night and had to scramble to try to make the numbers work - fyi, 150 more per month than what we negotiated and agreed to does not work. I guess signed paperwork and a deposit does not count for anything. I should have known not to go there but I have them another chance. Instead dealership covered one and charged for other as customer pay. Its in the system. Why cover one and charge me for the other.? I did not agree to this. Warranty was 10 day outside expiration and I was advised by your warranty staff that this should have been honored as is usually done when the warranty falls within two weeks, exceptionally. They were the dealership that we were sent to. The salesman and sales manager will lie through their teeth before the sale. After they have your money, they don't want to know you. Of course it was "sold" last night. If that was really the case why not tell me that when I called. It's classic bait and switch that shady dealerships use to get you in the door so they can sell you something else. Do not trust this dealership. Avoid unless you like wasting your time with rude managers and lying salesmen. These are the kind of dealerships that give car salesman a bad name. I've been calling bical chevrolet for a month now to make an appointment about my car getting recalled and have left several voicemails and they never got back to me. I'm extremely frustrated as to why nobody has the decency to call me back, even if they are busy, they can still schedule an appointment with me far in advance if needed. Also, every year for the past 4 years they've been replacing the heat and air conditioning in my car and every year it breaks again. Obviously something has to be wrong with their customer service if they can't even return a phone call. read more

After purchasing a new Equinox for my wife at Lasorsa Chevy( a very reputable place in the bronx) I brought my car in to Bical because a plastic bag wrapped around the axle and ripped out a harness wire causing some brake related lights on my dashboard to go on, the service manager Mike told me it would take 5 hours at $150.00 per to even diagnose the damage, Best case was $2500.00 if they made a harness kit for my car or over $4000.00 if it need a whole harness. First off shouldn't a service manager know if they even make that part, well i went elsewhere and the part was 140.00 on national backorder from Chevy for a week and another $360.00 in labor totaling $500.00, not over $4000.00 like they quoted me then on the paperwork it said $169.00 to diagnose and i was charged $300.00 don't ever use Bical for anything they are GARBAGE and a ripoff and should be reported to GM Kip read more

HORRIBLE 1ST SERVICE APPT Had my equinox in for its 1st oil change after a used car purchase I told the advisor i just needed an oil change bc the previous dealer did everything it needed before sellimg it to me...and the previous dealer is a family friend who lives upstate..so i cant go there for service..i live too far I went to Bical at 9am and didnt even get updates on progress ...i went to the desk and they tried to sell me flushes and a drive belt..saying it was torn and cracked..they didnt even show it to me..so a $40 oil change would then be a few hundred dollars...they were selling EVERYONE the SAME flushes regardless I was there from 9am til almost 1pm ..FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND NO UPDATES WERE GIVEN UNTIL I WENT UP TO THE DESK...he said he would print the items out for me and he DID NOT i was an advisor when it was the previous owner and we ALWAYS updated customers..ESP IF THEYRE THERE FOR 3 1/2 HOURS FOR AN OIL CHANGE i then emailed the dealer and no return email or call Over 3 hours is DEPLORABLE for an oil change with NO UPDATES This is how a new customer is handled???? Let me begin by referencing an excellent review made by "Chris S. of Lynbrook" on 7/22/13. He mentions a "Tony V." being the much left to be desired Manager there, and low and behold a month later there's a review from someone with just that name giving it an incredible *5-STAR* ovation when everyone else speaks of the horrors of this place! Could this be the same guy trying to trump up his poor reviews? Uh, I'll let *YOU* be the judge! Now on to my experience, in which was solely with their service department (so I can't speak for sales, but from the reviews on here they also seem quite poor), and I have to say it was hands down a series of the most horrible experiences I ever had as a customer, anywhere in my life! I'd like to begin by saying the service writers I encountered there barely even acknowledge your existence standing there. They're often too busy wolfing down their breakfast sandwiches spewing food everywhere, and they don't even bother to look you in the eye when you're telling them about what's wrong with your car. Extremely unprofessional behavior to say the very least! Now on to my experiences with the place: First, they overfilled my engine oil on a simple oil change and when I noticed this when I was charged for an extra quart on my invoice, they brought out the service tech to speak to me and he went on to tell me I was completely wrong, and that even several MORE quarts of oil can fit in my engine with no problem at all. What?!?! What was he on?!?! I had to show them the manual to prove to him he was absolutely incorrect! D'Oh! What incompetence! How could they possibly get this wrong? Well, they DID! And there's MORE... Another time I had a serious problem I wanted fixed under warranty in which I won't get in to here and they outright refused to fix it claiming it was fine and all cars are "like that". Ultimately, while speaking directly to the "Delightful" Service Manager, he told me that if I wanted it fixed, that I should bring it back to where I bought the car and have them do it! All with great attitude I will never forget! I had purchased the car out of state, and of course it wasn't exactly feasible to have it serviced there. Unbelievable! I promptly brought it to another GM dealership, and they were more than happy to fix it for free under warranty without any fuss, and they didn't care one bit that I didn't purchase the car from them (as they shouldn't). It was like a night & day difference on all levels dealing with the new place. I should have never went back to BiCal. Incredibly, I decided to give them another chance. I needed another specific engine part that was failing replaced, and to my amazement they were fortunately finally willing to do something under warranty, but in the process of replacing the part they badly scratched up my engine bay pretty bad; which on a new car isn't something you are pleased to see when you open the hood! What's even worse is that they also severely scratched one of my fenders, obviously from working on the side of the car that had the problem. It's almost as if they took screwdrivers and let them rub all over the side of my car as they were working on the engine! After this, I had enough! Fortunately, after several hours of hard work, I was able to minimize the scratches and buff most of them out where they didn't look as bad, so it didn't look like Wolverine from the X-Men, or Freddy Kruger from Nightmare on Elm Street slashed the living daylights out of the side of my car! UGH!!! This is when I called it quits! Overall, GM should burn this place to the ground! I'm sure they know BiCal is getting extremely poor reviews both online and off, because I surely let them know about it when I sent in my GM service review card and I suggest you do the same. Be sure to be on the lookout for it in the mail if you ever have service here, and let them have it (or praise them if you had a great experience), but I'd bet my bottom dollar it would be the former rather than the latter. Best advice I can give to anyone with a GM car, especially one under warranty, is to STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! You will save yourself a world of pain & anguish! read more

Bad service, managers have an attitude and the positive reviews online are fake. Don't waste your time here, go to Sunrise Chevy instead.

The WORST experience I've had with a car dealership ever!!! Leased 2 vehicles on the same day and have had nothing but problems with everyone from the sales department to service managers and even no help from the corporate office. My final resolution is to take them to court. I was with Infiniti for 12 years and should have stayed with them. Awful all around experience. read more

Purchased two automobiles here. My wife's car just died. Customer service was very nasty and told us they had no idea when our car would be ready. Told us also we would have to pay if not under warranty. Won't purchase a third car here. read more

Was told to leave my car all day and it will be ready. That night it wasn't was told the next day it will be the first car it wasn't ready at the end of the day. Ask for a manager wasn't in ask for the service consultant he wasn't there either. Disappointed is putting it lightly this place is a flat out joke. Don't waste your time coming here read more

I was looking to trade my Hyundai in for a Chevy and came to Bical Chevorlet since last year when I was thinking about it, I had a pleasant experience with Darryl. I called Darryl told him what I wanted, explained a problem with me getting over there at the time and he faxed me the paperwork to run my credit. We spoke after that and I was assured my credit was fine (I'm not convinced he even looked at my credit) and we could go forward with them getting me trade in value. Cool, I go there the next evening they look at my car and tell me I have about $8000 in negative equity but Darryl feels we can still make it work. I sign everything and was told to come in tomorrow to pick it up, I actually couldn't come the next day so we set it up for Wednesday at 12 noon to pick up my new car. I call Wednesday at 11 to make sure we are all set, Darryl wasn't in but they would call him and have him call me back. 30 minutes later no call, so I call again. The girl said he hasn't called but she would try him again and puts me on hold. She gets him on the phone and he tells her I need to speak with financing (really? I'm supposed to be on my way to pick the car up! So yeah, I'm annoyed) I call financing where I get a woman, she asks my name and says oh yes she was supposed to call me but has been busy then tells me, I don't have an approval. Wow really, why didn't someone call me yesterday? She said sorry, but didn't really sound sorry! She said she's still trying to get an approval and will call me back. That was Wennesday, today is Sunday no one has ever called me back, so do I think she's working on getting me an approval, NO! Do you think Darryl has even called me? Nope, I guess he's only nice if you have good credit. I'm moving on, my credit isn't that bad, a dealer who cares will work it out. I will get the car I want at the price I want and at an affordable payment, I wont ever go back to Bical for my future needs. Very disappointing, I've worked with 2 other dealers in the past 5 years and they made it clear they were working hard for me, both times they made it work and I left with 2 new cars. I've decided that Bical only wants easy sales so if your credit isn't high, they have no interest in you. read more
