The dog I wanted was with the Love 4 Canines organization. Went to the website where they requested I fill out a VERY lengthy adoption questionaire. Which I did. On Oct 19th. I received a prompt response saying my form had been received and thank you very much. Now the form said we will only contact families that have been approved for adoption. (This is the only reason I didn't give one star) Understand, I own my own home. I have a large backyard. I've raised and trained dogs my entire life. And while my home is not always perfect, I still know I would be a great dog owner. Pretty much everyday, I would check Priceless Pets for any new pets, and every day, the dog I wanted was still there, looking at me with those 'adopt me' eyes. So I waited 6 days and emailed them again. "I was just wondering if Sandi was still available and if I was still in the running?" Again nothing. Waited another 11 days, Sandi is still listed on the website, sent another email. "Hi, I filled out an adoption form for Sandi. I've been waiting and waiting and I hate to bug you again, but is there anyway for someone to get back to me on the status of my application? I really would love to adopt Sandi. I'm not even looking at any other animals because I'm really hoping I'm going to be able to adopt him. If you could just drop me a quick email, that would be great! Thanks," Nothing. I checked their website, no phone, no address. The only way listed to get a hold of them is via email. I emailed 2 more times, still no response. Nothing. But every day I see that sweet dog listed. I think it's horrible to do someone like that. I obviously was very interested and that dog still had not been adopted. It would have taken 2 minutes to say you don't qualify and put me out of my misery. I admire every organization that tries to help animals. God bless them. But this one should remember that there are good people out there as well and treat us with a little human kindness. I have now adopted 2 other dogs that are real sweet, but I'll always think of Sandi's face.

I left a voicemail simply asking if there was a chance he had been brought here. Penny returned my call, and from the very beginning, she was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of showing even a little compassion, I was told, "Midway City is a bit far for a cat to walk," "Next pet you have, make sure you microchip them," and "He was probably eaten by a coyote or hit by a car." None of those comments were helpful, appropriate, or necessary. I wasn't looking for a lecture or worst-case scenarios--I was simply asking if there was a possibility my dad's missing cat had been brought in. When people call about a missing pet, they're already going through an incredibly stressful and emotional time. A little kindness and empathy go a long way. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking in this interaction. Do better.

In my call I specifically told them I was following up on my application and to text me when they received it. Waited another few days, heard nothing about if they had found my application, then the email I sent to follow up came back as undelivered and not accepting emails so I guess their email doesn't even work. So, complete waste of time. Disorganized. And with all the time I spent answering all their invasive questions which included my drivers license and personal information, you think they could at least, I don't know, answer the damn phone and follow simple directions without leaving a condescending @$$ voicemail on my phone. I feel really bad for the animals stuck with these people. Stay away and go with a rescue that isn't here to waste your time. Pay attention to the 1 star reviews. I didn't and here I am now making my own.

Although I ended up not being a match for Eli, the initial adoption process through K9 Kismet went smoothly. First, I completed an adoption form and waited for someone to contact me. I received a call from Nici who arranged for a meet and greet in an office in Los Alamitos. We also had a tentative home check arranged. After a meet and greet between Eli with another prospective adoptive family, Nici advised that Eli would probably not be a good fit in my household. I couldn't agree more with her assessment because I have a smaller dog in my home that would probably be prone to getting injured by Eli's sheer playfulness. He is a solid dog with a lot of energy. The other dog in my house is a senior teacup chihuahua. I am so happy that Eli has since found his forever home. His story is one that tugged at my heartstrings and I just had to meet him. Even though it did not work out between us, K9 Kismet is a legit rescue that cares about the wellbeing of the pet and thoroughly vets their applicants.

My female Boston Terrier Maggie went missing in 2018 under the Cocoa Beach Pier in Florida. I…read moresearched for her for approximately 2.5 years. I would cry myself to sleep every night praying for my dog Maggie's safe return. Thankfully my baby girl Maggie was microchipped. I was reunited with my dog Maggie around February of 2021 with the help of my best friend Nikki (who is starting a Boston Terrier rescue in Santa Rosa, California very soon) and with the help of a Boston Terrier rescue organization, such as Boston Buddies, Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida. Maggie was found under the same pier in Cocoa Beach where she disappeared. It was a miracle and I'll always be grateful for everyone that helped me get my baby back. Please always have your animals microchipped. If you lose your animal, always keep your microchip registration up to date, and please don't ever give up hope. Keep searching for your animal, don't let anyone talk you out of this important step in finding your furchild and being reunited once again. I am walking proof that miracles happen everyday! Please don't be confused, these organizations are all run by volunteers and these volunteers help these dear animals out of the kindness of their hearts. If you find it difficult to reach someone by contacting one of these organizations, just keep trying. If you need to surrender you dog, for any reason, please don't give up on trying to contact someone who will take your dog in for you. Please ask for a referral to another Boston Terrier organization, if you are looking to surround, or if you are looking to adopt, and you find that Boston Buddies is not able to assist you at that time. I am describing what I went through with finding Maggie, in order to help others who are suffering right now, and because I want to really put things into perspective for anyone who isn't aware of the truly painful and traumatic experiences that these animals have already experienced in their lifetimes, and yet they still find it in their little hearts to trust and love again. More than this, these brave souls, once adopted by us, often end up being a significant source of comfort to us, and at times, even our sole rock in this life. By showering us with unconditional love, acceptance, understanding, support, attention, and protecting us, we begin to see our lives improve for the better just by saving the lives of these animals in need. Not only will these adopted animals quickly come to trust, love, comfort, and accept us unconditionally, they have also been known to vigilantly watch over us and our family and give their own lives in order to save ours. Sadly, some individuals aren't able to care for their animals due to time constraints, lack of resources, perhaps that cannot afford the expensive veterinary costs associated with caring for an aging dog. Maybe they moved, welcomed a new addition to the family who was allergic, became disabled, or were perhaps elderly themselves, experiencing extreme fatigue, financial hardship, debilitating illnesses in their lives that make caring for an animal impossible for them to manage. Whatever the case may be, these animals, with so much love left to give, are often abandoned, surrendered to animal shelters, or surrendered to animal rescues. It's heart breaking to realize that some of these animals, such as Senior or disabled dogs, are rarely adopted out into a loving, supportive forever home at this stage in their lives. Non Profit Organizations, such as Boston Buddies, truly make the world a better place. They provide so many amazing and deserving animals with a warm, loving, caring, and comfortable place to stay, and by finding forever homes for these animals, where they can go to live in peace, joy, and happiness for the remainder of their lives. Boston Buddies also provides emergency veterinary care to the animals who come to be in their care, animals that might otherwise be euthanized, or much worse, left to suffer and die in excruciating pain. Please know that your love and support, via liking, sharing, reviewing, and otherwise spreading the word about these organizations, such as Boston Buddies on social media, Yelp, Google, TrustPilot, Facebook, etc. all make a significant impact. They insisted on me dropping him off at Fix Long Beach to keep him locked up in a cage. Jo Anne lied to me because she insisted they had a foster home, which they didn't. I have reached out multiple times, and she is just giving me the runaround. Also, the Fix Long Beach clinic sucks you might as well let the pound do your dogs surgeries. I hope people stop donating money to this organization. I called Violet to let her know that I had found a puppy. I expressed to Violet that I could foster the dog until they found him a permanent home. I did not harass your employee. If anything, she lied and told me someone would pick him up on Sunday, which never happened. Then she lied and said that they would pick him up in the morning on Monday, as I explained to her that I could hold him until he gets a permanent home or until his foster is available. NO ONE PICKED HIM UP. I did have him vaccinated at my house, and I was gonna provide you the paperwork on Monday, but Fix Long Beach doesn't give any information. Doesn't take any information. The owner is the one now harassing me about the accurate post that I made. she's called me numerous of time doesn't let me speak so why should I entertain that? I have a schnauzer and she got spayed at FIX Long Beach her stitches were falling apart. My dog was in pain. I called them. They didn't wanna help me. I ended up going to the SPCA and my dog had to get IV liquid in her and other nutrients and they fixed her stitches. I have worked with SCARS before and Violeta they are angels. People should think twice about Spaky and the Gang and Fix Long Beach.
