I am a loyal customer of Centinela Feed & Pet. Today, however I received it exceptional service…read morefrom both Alfredo and Chris. My situation was I have been feeding my little dog, a Yorky terrier, SoJo's freeze dried dog food. He has grown up on this food however he became sick not once but twice so I had concluded that the reason he became sick was the food. I wanted to alert the manufacturer of this situation. I explained the situation to Chris. He made an executive decision to allow me to replace my bag with another. I also learned that Centinella is no longer going to carry SoJo's because other pet owners simply have stopped purchasing this brand. I wonder if it's because their pets were also getting sick because the quality had deteriorated. I chose Honest Kitchen pet food because Chris said that it was made with human grade food, meaning I could add a little water to it and eat it myself.. As usual, this store is always very clean and the staff is polite. Unfortunately, I didn't have any time to take photos as I was on my lunch break. But I would highly recommend this family owned pet retailer.

However, now the shelves aren't carrying many dog shampoo and conditioners etc. like two years ago! I don't mind the drive if they'd carry some more specialty items like they did in the past.

My girlfriend and I were searching for kittens when we came across two adorable 4-month-old…read moresisters--and we instantly fell in love. The adoption process was incredibly smooth, and the staff were kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful every step of the way, making the experience completely stress-free. We couldn't be happier with our two kittens and are so grateful to the Seal Beach Animal Care Center for bringing them into our lives. All of the kittens are friendly, already spayed or neutered, and up to date on most of their vaccinations, which gave us even more peace of mind. You guys were amazing--I highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a dog or cat! Just a heads up--many of the negative reviews seem to come from people who are mad they didn't meet the standards. In reality, it's clear that the staff genuinely care about ensuring their animals are placed in safe, loving homes. I really respect the level of dedication they show to the well-being of each animal.

I've been fortunate to adopt my two lovely cats from here (1 adult and 1kitten) but only simply…read morebecause I know how to get around their application process and tell them what they want to hear so that they'll get off my back But I'm here to warn everyone hoping to check this place out that they will indeed run into some of the rudest and most condescending group of white saviors. You will probably only experience this treatment if you are a person of color. My second visit here consisted of me and my husband being chastised for having to rehome a cat in the past due to us just simply not having enough space for her. Was accused of rehoming her to my best friend so that she could be an outdoor cat (this is untrue. She was a cat that required a house, not an apartment). I kept having to remind several staff members that rehoming her was the last thing we wanted to do and that it was in her best interest. Not to mention the several staff members who kept constantly asking us the same questions over and over again to see if our story would change. But I digress... the women here need to learn better hospitality and lenience. It truly was always an uncomfortable experience coming here and then having it be an even bigger bummer when a white person comes in to visit with the cats to be treated better than us. Not saying to not come here to adopt! They handle the cats veterinary needs extremely well and are thorough But just beware of snarkiness and condescending behavior

My puppy…read morewas due for her first round of vaccines so we decided to give this place a shot as they're located very close to home and had reputable reviews on Yelp & Google. Vaccinations are walk-ins only and their hours are currently Tue-Fri 8-5, Sat 8-2, and closed Mon/Sun. It was very easy to register my pet and get in line for vaccinations. This place does get very busy so we had 7 people in front of us and waited about 2 hours before we were seen. The wait was absolutely worth it though as my Daisy got de-worming, the 4 in 1 shot, and a flea topical oil for just $56. The price was only for the vaccine as the de-worming was fortunately free. The staff here at Golden State Humane were also very professional, friendly, and patient. I should note that this is not classified as an emergency pet hospital but rather a low-income animal clinic that offers your standard procedures. They do however offer spay/neuter surgeries. Overall, it was a great bang for our buck and we will be back in 3 weeks for round 2 of vaccines plus a first time check-up. I couldn't recommend this spot enough to anyone who needs affordable care for their fur babies!
