They told me it would be a $75 rescheduling fee which is absolutely crazy nor did I know anything about this fee people should not be penalized because life events. I also have MS which I had also told them which had nothing to do with this particular circumstance. But if there was a chance that I had a flare up and I couldn't make it, did that mean every time I was going to be charged $75 I could see $25. I could see something reasonable but 75 just seems so greedy. So to say the least I did not go. I exchanged a few emails with the dentist himself but he had no empathy or compassion, whatsoever

They have an air purification system that is designed to kill viruses and other various evil air particles which made me feel more at ease about going to the dentist during Covid. I had x-rays done and the fellah who took them was very personable. Dr. DeRice was very down-to-earth, has a nice sense of humor and was very thorough with my exam. He took the time to address my dental questions and concerns. I'm returning soon for my cleaning and will update if needed. (A new patient exam takes longer but once you're established the dental exam and cleaning are always done together.)

The front desk staff is courteous and offers you to the waiting area's coffee, bottled water and/or a variety of seltzer waters. My first 6 month check-up was just done there since relocating to Portland. The intake examination by the Dental Hygienist was the most thorough I have ever experienced. In depth photographs were taken of my teeth and mouth in addition to the typical x-rays. This is definitely a newer, very updated, current, and more modern establishment. To say the least, I'm very happy to have chosen this practice. I've always been somewhat 'dentist phobic' and was pleased to actually feel relaxed the entire time. I have a follow up appointment to have a crown done and I have no worries or nervousness about having it done. Both the Dental Hygienist and Dentist were very professional: communicated well, explaining my dental health in detail, treatment plan, and provided good recommendations. As a side note: the examination room was amazing! I mentioned that I felt cold and I was immediately brought a blanket. There's TV mounted on the ceiling so you can watch something during your procedure. There's a very large TV monitor on the wall that will show your x-rays, etc. as they go through each point of examination follow-up. I never thought I'd enjoy a dentist visit but this practice has changed the way I feel about having my teeth taken care of. I highly recommend them.

Finding a new dentist is always stressful. But I got lucky, because after my first visit to Portland Smiles I knew I had found my new dentist's office. From the moment I called to make my first appointment, Judy was very accommodating and welcoming. She gave me an appointment a month out, but then texted me when they had a cancellation in case I wanted to go earlier. I loved that! I also loved how organized this office is. I was able to submit all the new-patient forms online prior to my appointment, and that saved me so much time. I can't say enough awesome things about Alicia, the best hygienist I've met. They are absolutely amazing, upfront, willing work with me. I've had multiple fillings, a crown (still need more) and they have been friendly, courteous, and professional. Dr. Buss and Megan are absolutely amazing, Judy and Shanna are informative and break everything down and explain billing and insurance clearly. I used to get very anxious over going to the Dentist, but not with the amazing staff at Portland Smiles. They hygienists are amazing and the cleaning great, I just can't remember their names sadly. If I could rate Portland Smiles 10 stars I would, and I recommend them highly as they don't judge, they do listen, and they do care.
