Hosted our daughter's fifteenth birthday party here last night. We were pleased with the…read moreexperience and the atmosphere, and count the evening as a success. We would definitely consider hosting another event there and would recommend it to others. The facility is well set up and can handle its advertised duties, but the real story is the service provided by the staff. The staff and DJ did a great job of accommodating our party. We brought in outside catering, selected our own music, and spent a long time transforming the facility with a different look and feel. In short, we were particular, and the staff worked very well with us and all the parties involved to make it a success. My daughter and I selected music and I built a slideshow. Chris, the DJ (and either the husband of the owner or co-owner, I didn't ask), did a great job of working the music together to make a great program. We selected some music that wasn't traditional for a teeny-boppy party, and he sequenced it beautifully to engage the entire audience - even the grandparents were dancing! We also changed the program slightly during the event and again he kept up very well. If you are bringing in your own music and slideshow, make sure you follow Chris's directions so that you get the results you are looking for. I brought a few different file types of the slideshow in case there were difficulties playing one on their computer, but there weren't . The food and beverage accommodations are good, although we did not prepare food there, nor did we serve alcoholic beverages. We had dining catered by Gina's restaurant of Clear Lake, and they worked well with the Enchanted Gardens staff. We had a few family members arrive after the dinner was cleared, but the staff reheated and served them food. The service we had included sodas, tea, and water. For an additional fee, they served coffee. About the only drawback is that the facility is a little hard to find. We had a few guests that had difficulty finding the place. There are several factors for this; first is its actual location. It is situated in a strip shopping center that doesn't look like it would accommodate an event facility. Secondly, there is not a sign by the road, so finding the exact entrance in the dark was a little challenging. Third, it appears as though some search engines (including google/yelp) appear to show this near FM 517 even though it is near 146 (some 30 minutes the other direction). We learned of this from some very persistent guests. I hope to submit a request to fix this, but I would highly recommend that you include a map to the facility or directions with your invitation.

So the day of our wedding the weather was 90% rain Miss Kelly kept a very watchful eye on the weather and our ceremony was done without any rain then it poured down and she was on top of getting everything in order moving to tables clearing out the water. Our guess we're never inconvenience her staff were very professional you didn't even realize they were there they moved quickly taking out trash arranging things to be in place and she was just an absolute angel. The place is well kept and the bathrooms were more like a home bathroom in a good way- than a public bathroom. The people there are really nice and attentive to your needs. Provided you have a need when there is an open bar at the wedding, mariachis, a DJ, and a frickin' ICE CREAM BAR. Not an Ice Cream "Bar" like a rocket pop...but a bar where you can go and load up on as much Ice Cream as you WANT...man...my inner fat kid was sated, you have any idea how hard that is to do?! Awesome idea to whoever came up with that. The outside are where the reception was held was gorgeous, lots of shade due to the big beautiful trees. In the evening they would turn on the hanging lights that were strung up throughout the yard and it was really nice. The dance floor was nice, seeing as I can't dance for crap..I would give it a 5/5 because it's been as good as any dance floor I might have stared at longingly. The food was good, we started with salads that were really good. The lettuce was crisp and it had peanuts in it, they served bowls of ranch and a vinaigrette I want to say. I had the ranch, but my friend had the vinaigrette and really enjoyed it so that's all I have to say about that. The entree was a chicken in mushroom sauce I wanna say. I just remember it was a little cold because we were greeting the wedding party when it was served so the wind got the better of it. It was still pretty great, oddly enough I remember the carrots served with it the best because I wanted more haha. The night went on and the servers kept the tables managed really well, you didn't have crap strewn all over the place which happens a lot at weddings I've been too. So good job on keeping it clean. We were shooed out at 10 pm, and lots of photos were taken. Overall it was a wonderful and amazing reception, but I can't rate it on my company and the wedding couple alone.

Zero lighting outside was awkward for everyone trying to park and walk to their cars. Everyone was mentioning that. As a former restaurant owner I know they're just asking for a liability lawsuit with their pitch dark grounds. I get wanting to maintain ambiance but on a dark night at least some soft lighting so you can see where you're walking is necessary. The food was good, and well presented, but salt less. When I asked one of the staff for Salt I was told they didn't have any. (?!) "Any? Not in the whole entire house?" Finally a lady brought out 1 set. (For 50+ people?) If you're not going to provide those silverware sets that include the little salt and pepper packages, go to Hobby Lobby and get those sets of multiple crystal miniature salt and pepper sets. An expense of probably about $30 to have a set for each table. The hostess was beautiful and the place is beautiful but I like my events to flow as smoothly as possible so the focus can be on the reason for celebrating and not on the disorganization.

Everyone should leave their wedding day feeling like it was the best day ever, and unfortunately that was not my experience. My experience was filled with unfulfilled promises. We told them photography and videography were some of the most important things to us. We were told we would get all of the pictures, video footage from the whole day, and a montage video. We received the pictures and video footage but no montage. When I reached out to complain, they only cut the whole day footage into three minutes and it was nothing like the video we were told we would get. We were told we would get pictures back in 30 days and it took 60. When we did get our pictures back, we had flash drives mailed to us and one of the flash drives was broken to where half of our pictures had gray boxes over it. We also had disappointments in catering. We requested water and pink lemonade which was on our contract, and we only received water and tea. I don't drink tea and we went with no alcohol, so I was really disappointed. We also requested extra fajita meat and no chicken wings and shrimp, but the wings and shrimp were both still served. The DJ also messaged me two days before the wedding that the watergrove said they were not paying him for the whole day like they had told me. I had to reach out to the watergrove and beg for the DJ to be paid for the whole day like I was told. I almost didn't have a DJ for my ceremony, and I am so thankful he reached out to me so I could sort it out. Other disappointments in the wedding included that I had to ask for the table cloths to be ironed (they looked like they had been crumbled in a box for months), the ice machine was broken, they did not put our party favors into bins like they said they would, many guests glasses were taken aware before speeches, we were given no plates for cake cutting (which we paid the $100 fee for and it took a long time for it to be served), it took longer to flip the ceremony space than promised, I had to request for the Photo Booth to be redone, I paid for the day of coordinator and she was gone part of the day and I was left with someone I had never met, and we were told there would be a coffee bar at night and there was not. I emailed The WaterGrove event venue on February 24th, and they offered a discount the next time I book with them. They also said the photographer could redo our wedding video at another location or time, but in our opinion that just wouldn't be special anymore. Please do not use them for your event.

One perk of using this space, and if you set it up, you can have a shuttle running between the many hotel buildings and the convention center. Sure beats having to walk the long blocks to get here. The only downside here is the amount of air conditioning being blasted from the rooms. I understand if there is a huge event with tons of people, but when you are sitting next to an empty room with no one in it, that air can make you think that you are sitting in the arctic.
