We went to the Big Five store there on Saturday, 10/25/2025 with the intention to buy an Everlast 100lb heavy boxing bag, an Everlast speed bag, and the Everlast stand for those two bags. We also intended to buy some other things. These items totaled over $300.00 that we were going to spend that day. When we asked about the boxing bags and stand we were referred to a young man that was in that department. The first thing he said was that his leg hurt, and he was having a bad day. We saw sales tags on the bag and stand, but the tag was on the wrong bag. He didn't seem to know which bag was on sale, so we showed him an ad, and found the right bag. We then asked about the stand which had a sales tag on it for $144.49 but he said it was $150.00. When we asked why 150.00 instead of 144.99 he flew into a rage, and said in a very very loud voice: Jesus Christ, I only a rounded up a penny (not recognizing that it was a difference of over $5.00 not one penny) Then he turned around, and stomped off, not speaking to us anymore. We called out after him, (and I know he heard us) but he wouldn't acknowledge us. We then went up to the checkout desk and told them what happened, and asked to speak to a manager, They said the person we talked to was a department manager, but they would have the store manager contact us when he came in the next day. They also said that the person who helped us seems to have bad days every day, and there had been previous complaints about him. The store manager still has not called back. We have called the store three days in a row now, and the store manager still has not contacted us. We just get the the promise that he was looking into it, and would call us back. We find this totally unacceptable, as we have been loyal customers since this store branch opened years ago, but no more. read more

I was in the store to see if you had an adjustable camp cot. I was directed to the chairs. After reviewing prices on the poster, I chose to buy 2 chairs for $59.99 each. When I got to the register, the price was $10 more than the posted price and I got "those prices are at least two years old and our manager says we have to wait for corporate to send us a new poster with the right prices." No pricing on the chairs, just the sign. A bait and switch. I'll do my shopping on Amazon from now on for my camping gear. Or go to BiMart or Cascade Farm and Ranch. read more

Nice Big 5. Has lots of sporting goods, shoes & sports clothes. We got a sun shade on sale for a great price. Would go back. We prefer going to the store instead of Internet shopping so I'm happy Big 5 still hangs in! read more

I suppose it's nice to have a store like this in the area, but with internet shopping, I guess I've been waiting to see them with a "for lease" sign in the window too! The selection is really pretty good, and once in a while you can find a real deal here. Beyond that - I've always been able to find what I'm looking for somewhere else for less. They do have great buys occasionally on athletic shoes. If you happen to catch the right sale, or clearance deal, it can be worth it. Otherwise... unless you're just a fan of Big 5, you may wish to shop around. Nice to be able to peruse the selection and sometimes find just what you've been looking for. Obviously... we don't frequent this store often. Thankful for what I've found that we needed, but can't say I'd totally miss this place if it wasn't here. read more

On December 7, 2013 a friend and I went into the Big 5 store in North Bend, OR. The Bearclaw boots that I wanted were on sale for an excellent price, a much better than Macy's sale price for the same boot. I found a black pair that I purchased, but I also wanted the Hickory color as well, but there was no stock. This was NOT an issue for Chris. He was kind enough to order the additional pair that I wanted and offered to sell them to me at the sale price. I found this customer service better than I've received in other retail stores. I then saw an add for a sale that began the following day..........oh look, something else I want is on sale at an exceptional price. As I live 30 miles from the store it's difficult for me to go into town as wanted, so I called the store and spoke to Joe and explained my situation that I care for my friend that has ALS and I'm only able to travel on weekends while her husband is home to care for her so I was wondering if they would place one of the items on hold for me. He felt that it was no problem, but asked me to hold so he could transfer me to someone to confirm that. Tony then came on the phone and said that it was no problem. He said that he will place it on hold so I can pick up both items when they arrive. I've shopped at Big 5 in the past and always had great service, but I the gentlemen in this store exceed my expectations. Thank you Big 5!!!!! read more

Recently bought a pair of Nikes here and I brought my friend there to so he could buy a pair of shoes as well. It's a bit cramped inside but that's due to this place being chockful of goodies of all sorts. Prices are fair to good. Service is friendly too! read more
